Is there a way to increase the size of the hat? I'm using worsted weight, hand-spun alpaca yarn and would love to have a larger hat if possible. Thank you.
this was literally the exact kind of video i was looking for. thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing, off to make one❤
Parabens por nos ensinar thither
I thought you knit into the back of the stitch for a M1L?
So how do you add a third color?
Thank you so much, this is the only video I could find on how to do this!
I don't understand how to do the setup row 2. I must have messed up row 1 because my row 2 starts with two "hoods." If I could only get past that I could follow the rest, I think!
Awesome
What brand of yarn do you use?
This is We are Knitters Petite Wool
Thank you for this clear and encouraging explanation! I've just watched several videos about nupps, and yours is by far the best!
I'm so happy it helped! Thank you for your feedback!
Shirt and sweet! Thank you! I think I’m ready to start my sweater!
I’m a new sub..Hi 👋 .. Always wanted to learn how to crochet… I’m a musician, bass fisherman, but crocheting seems to me to be very therapeutic…So that’s why I’m here..Teach the way😌🙏🫶🏼
Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate this so clearly. Really appreciate it
Thank you for watching. I hope it helps!
There is SUCH an easier way to remove a piece from the addi. Just get a bent needle and knit through every single stitch, takes about 40 seconds. Then spin around twice and it will fall off the loom. This will save you so so much time
Thanks it give me idea not to buy a 2nd needle with same size 😊
I’m learning to make my first sweater and this video is basically the best thing I could have found. THANK YOU!
I love to watch organization video. Gives me ideas for my mess. Thanks❤❤❤
If you draw a design, like a feather, how do you add increases without warping the design? Or are increases only done in solid color rows and not in the motif. I just simply can't wrap my head around it!
Me neither!😮

I hand ball my yarn with a center pull when I get halfway through a skein, I've never used a hank yet. But basically, i leave the tail between my fingers as i start the ball, same method as you, but when I switch to the "bow" I am just careful not to wrap the tail. Then round and round you go, like you do, just be mindful to keep the tail free. Nothing too fancy about it. But now I want a winder!! 😂 I do have a nostepinne which I prefer now to my fingers.
Pls can you tell me how many stiches the big blanket Thank you❤️
She is so like me. I am a complete commentarian with my dad and his stuff.
Organising yarn with your daughter made me laugh. Like why do you have this much mum!? Hahaha. Absolutely sweet of her to help you too.
What a great kid! My stash is so out of control. I've been looking for organizing inspiration and I think I got some. "You need to get rid of some stuff!"
I think it's a good decision when you face reality - time is short and you really need to be in the right frame of mind. Just on another note, the editing in this is very staccato the whole way through. I don't know what's happened it chops and changes all the time and is distracting and an interruption to the flow. Your conversation gets cut off all the time. And congrats on having a baby at 39. You dont look it that's for sure (although I'll bet you sometimes FEEL like it hahahahaha) happy April, and happy Easter
Thank you for the encouragement. I completely agree. Also thank you for your feedback on my video. I was attempting to cut out the fluff but will do a better job next time so it's not so choppy!
@@whimsynorth7922 ah, choppy is the perfect word. and thanks so much for trying to improve as you go. l x
I loved your podcast but I think you are going to need a microphone. I have the youtube sound on the highest and the laptop on the highest and it's hard to hear unless I'm sitting on top of the laptop to watch. L
Thank you for watching! I thought the same thing which is why I now have a microphone!
@@whimsynorth7922 hello dear Margaret, that is good news. .I only just found you and didn't want to skip ahead to the latest episodes - I love starting at the beginning, and I did suspect that you might have obtained a mike so that's excellent. You are so professional, even from the very start, so it is just wonderful to have found your podcast. I hope you are enjoying your new little baby Ruby . A new baby is precious. Lu x
Omg this is me….I took over the attic room…filled it. Then my daughter left home and I use her room as my craft room…However, I have filled that room too. I keep my brother knitting machine in the attic and would love to knit some sleeves on it. But I have to find space to move the yarn that’s sitting on top of it lol. Very inspirational as I sort my two rooms out
It sounds like you have a wonderful collection! It's easy to accumulate all of the pretty yarn but so difficult to keep it all managed isn't it?!
It was so fun watching this! Felt like I was hanging out with you 😂 you need to teach your daughters how to knit so they can appreciate that lovely stash!
Yes I tried to teach Maci but she didn't have the patience. I have hope for Charlotte as she's my little artist that can sit still and create for hours. Fingers crossed! I would love to share this wonderful craft with them.
First, your daughter is adorable! Such a good encourager! We’re preparing to move so I’ll be doing a similar purge/organizing of my stash!
She certainly makes organizing more fun! and likes to give me a hard time! Good luck with your organizing!
This video had me cracking up! Your daughter is so sweet to help! Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Making organizing more fun certainly makes it easier!
Your sweet sweet daughter. LOVE!! You guys kicked it!! Love how much she loves yarn!
Thank you! She really is a great helper and made organizing so much more fun!
Look at each other's elbows and you'll never miss a high five!
That's a great tip! I'm going to try it today when she gets home from school!
Your “helper” was fantastic! I would like to see ideas for using existing yarn in stash. I’m currently knitting a monthly blanket with Bakery Bears. I’m trying to use my stash held with a neutral to tone down colors. It’s always easier to buy new yarn but I’m pretty determined to use more from stash than new acquisitions. Thanks for the fun podcast!
I love that idea! I've been doing some brainstorming as I have a huge bin of leftover skeins from different projects. I currently use them for swatching design ideas but would love to put them together some way in a project.
The two of you were making me laugh! I'm also currently reorganizing all of my yarn so I understand that it can be very overwhelming, but you did a great job! I have the goal of trying to work through more of my stash this year, and wishing for you the same luck!
Thank you! Having her help made it a lot more fun that's for sure! Let me know what projects you are doing to work through your stash. I would love some ideas!
Why does it get so tight towards the end? I thought my machine would break.
When attaching the double brim it does tend to get tight towards the end. I simply go slow and make sure to pull up on the cast on section. Then when I start winding again I go slow on the first round. The next rounds will be easier.
So good to hear what you've got planned and nice to hear how you feel about designing!! It's tough!! 😂 Happy Happy Birthday and can't wait to see what's next for you! ♥
Your video just popped up on my KZread feed… love it! Funny you mention the Caidree pattern… I just downloaded her Harlow sweater, was reading through it, didn’t quite understand the stitch/technique…. So I put it down! Soooooo an idea for you…😊 you could do stitch/technique tutorials for specific sweaters, explaining just that part…. For me, I try to add a new technique with each new project… a quick tutorial explaining the stitch/construction would be great!😊 Kids grow up fast - take the time - you don’t get it back!!! (All of the sudden I have a child with a driver’s permit- how did this happen? Where did the time go?!) Take the time! I am off to check out the rest of your channel!!
That's a wonderful idea! There were a few directions in this sweater that were not very beginner friendly so I could see how someone would maybe buy the pattern but not finish the sweater. I also agree that kids grow up so fast! My oldest is turning 13 this summer. He will be driving in no time. It feels nice to be able to have time to connect with my kids while they are living here with me. I know that's a privilege that I don't want to take for granted. Let me know what other videos you would love to see! I'm working on some new ideas!
Enjoy your time and knitting. I love your patterns. I have several (made the mila and the carnival hat)
Thank you Marian! I always love your support!
Seeing your progress with this sweater will be fun!
Yes! It’s been a learning experience!
I love those cords!
They are my new favorite tool!
Hope you have a nice break!
Thank you. It’s been so nice to just knit
How about designing a little baby set seeing you have the perfect model. Baby clothes are my most favorite makes in the world + not such a big commitment. But apart from that you are doing the most important job in the world, being a mother to your children.
I do have the itch to knit baby items I just don’t want to do the math!
Another thought I had, as you help design home interiors, maybe you could share ideas for yarn storage and work areas with us.
Another great idea! My yarn storage area has become a little bit unorganized. I love organizing so maybe taking you along while I reorganize it would be fun!
I'm so excited for you to take a break and remember to enjoy the craft!
Thank you so much! It's been really freeing to simply knit someone else's pattern.
Have a wonderful birthday in Napa. Excited to see your sweater progress. I have learned that I like the very classics that I know I will wear,
Thank you so much! I'm excited to have some classic pieces to add to my wardrobe. I love knitting with color and patterns but am realizing that I don't wear those items as much and want to be more mindful of my consumption.
Thanks for this incredible tutorial ❤️
I'm so happy it helped!
Wishing you the best luck on your designing break and cardigan! I cannot wait to see what progress you make on it!
Thank you so much! It's been fun documenting the progress each day!
Best wishes for your “sabbatical “! Maybe sharing ideas in the future regarding knitting patterns that work with a capsule wardrobe? We all run after the newest, trendy pattern, but I’m beginning to get interested in knitting classic style patterns that I’ll enjoy for a long time. Just a thought. Enjoy your beautiful family!!
Thank you so much. I LOVE that idea! I'm going to add it to my list!
congrats on your little Ruby my husband has dementia and I love to knit We have 14 grand children and I gravitate to easy patterns top down sweaters mostly
Thank you so much. It sounds like you have a lot going on as well. I'm sure easy patterns help give you a much needed break and relaxation. I'm finding this sweater is doing. that for me as well.
