Definitely cool of you to address the SNAFU from last month. I want to also mention that the magazine retrieved from behind the firing line should not be able to be used because it is gear that was in hand upon the start. This was called out at recent NRL22X match when a squad mate forgot their pump pillow behind the line and was not allowed to retrieve it.
You make a very valid point about the mag left on the table, it was out of play. In hindsight, I guess I should’ve just re-filmed that stage, it was an option.. but, on the other side of the coin I think it’s good to show mistakes. Everything doesn’t always go as planned, and we’re all only human after all.
@@22LimaRomeo fully agree on not refilming. It is very valuable learning tool as is.
Great video as always! These monthly cof videos have really helped me improve a ton.

Great video. This helps a hacker like me a lot. Thank you very much for making these videos, gives me a much better idea of how to set up for every stage.

Hey, great video as always. I did notice what looked like a box of ammo with a photo on it stuck in the cider block. On the last stage it looked like a drink coaster with a buffalo on it was leaned up against the roof post.

@@jasonsfoodreviewsandawesom7565 NICE! Good eye!
Tell me your honest opinion of that optic if you would. They look like a great scope to me but you never see these in PRS. Whats the drawback. I now shoot a Razor fyi
@@user-fn8lu1yj9k I have nothing bad to say about the Razor! That is a top tier optic for this discipline. I chose the Burris XTR Pro for the reticle, and the race turret primarily.. but, also these optics are made at a facility that I drive by every day on my way to work by people who I know personally. I’m supporting local business, and to me that’s important! Around the Rocky Mountain region, you’ll see a lot of XTR Pro’s out on the firing line. At the NRL22 Finale, I saw dozens of them out there.
@@22LimaRomeo Ok. Well all the things you say good about it is exactly why I think I’d like it better than the Razor Been shocked I haven’t seen them in center fire Made me wonder if they had a bad flaw Thanks

@@22LimaRomeoI’ve run into that type at local State range before. 😢 Some times it’s the range officer being the big dog “boss”. 😂
I don’t see the issue with you moving to get the mag. The rifle was balanced and stable. No different to being on a bipod really if it’s stable
Unless the wind blows, someone bumps the prop, and Earthquake......
Being on a bipod has three points of contact, big differnce.
lol, Zane and buffalo

Great video! Appreciate the time you put into this. Can shooters complete in multiple matches in the same month? There are 2 clubs about an 90 minutes from me, both in opposite directions, on different weekends. Is NRL22 scoring impacted by shooting COF twice?
You can indeed compete in multiple matches! I believe your first score is what is entered for prizes but your best score goes to the leaderboards.
Great COF review again. Now let's see you do a Clean on Match Day!!

Do you remove any fill from your schemedium heavy fill?
@@Nickpo21 nope. None at all. After some abuse at the range, the fabric breaks in and it becomes perfect right from the factory. I do wax it, both when the occasion calls for some added stickiness, and periodically to keep the bag supple.
I appreciate it! Sounds like I need more range time.
@@Nickpo21 range time is always the answer! 😉
Thanks for the info, looks like range needs some weed wackin??
@@vdsgw52 big time! The troop line had me sweating 😓.
Awesome walk through as always! As for the orientation of the tank trap tips, is that up to the MD, unless CoF specifies a specific orientation? Always a big discussion when where setting up at our club. Thanks
I asked Joe this question, he said it doesnt matter because you only need to use 3 of the 4 positions.
@@5.6x15Rguy you’re correct, TT orientation is at the discretion of the MD unless specified by the COF designer.
Some of the comments brings up a thought I’ve had on occasion. If we all are chasing maximum accuracy, but environmental conditions easily erase any little accuracy advantage, it might be significant to analyse ballistic coefficient differences. I don’t suppose the BC difference would be great, but as long as we are obsessing, knowing which bullet is more stable in the wind might be at least interesting.
Great video as always!
Talk about an expensive rabbit hole… 99% of us would be better off making rational choices first. What brand and grade of ammo is commonly available to me? How much of my family’s financial future am I willing to spend on this frivolous nonsense? How much of my limited time am I willing to steal away from my family, and the other aspects and commitments in my life, to obsess about group sizes? Theoretically, a person should extensively lot test every match grade ammunition available. For instance, I might test a single box of Eley Match, a single box of Lapua Center X, and a single box of RWS R50. In those single samples the RWS may shoot the best in my rifle. But if I got 10 different lots of each of those same brands, I may find that several of the lots of both Eley and Lupua shot way better in my rifle that any of the lots of RWS. 🤯
@@clarson2916 I really wanted to race cars as an adult. Unfortunately, I’m not wealthy enough to afford that hobby. This sport/hobby is pretty affordable when compared to other hobbies out there. Ultimately, you’re the only one who can answer many of the questions posed above. I was just hoping to illustrate the value of lot testing purely for the competitive edge.
Furthermore, for us.. rimfire competition is a family pastime. We compete together, we share the experience as a family unit. We share in each others commitment, in each others success, and failures as a family. We choose a sport that allows us to be “in it” with the kids, not just sitting on the sidelines cheering from afar.
@@22LimaRomeo I didn’t mean to put you personally on the spot. It’s kind of your job, as a content creator, to give us information like this. Spending time and money on your job, part time job or full time job, is something you are supposed to be doing. My comment was more meant for us, your viewers. It’s just an attempt to keep the rest of us rational. :)
It’s not your job to put limits on your viewers in order to keep them from making bad choices. But, maybe you could do a video on how good is good enough in this sport. If there is such a thing as good enough :) I’m retired and my kids are adults. Money is not really a problem for me, but I still put limits on myself. The ability to put rational limits on myself is why money is not a problem for me. 🤔
Thanks for putting this out. Better late than never! Curious your decision to dial the troop line?
@@John-uo1qf for the match… HOLD-OVER! I did this particularly for 1 person who was struggling to understand how dialing works.

This is pretty new to me. I’ve shot my whole life but with the barricades is kinda intimidating. What rest bags are you using?
@@cliffhaynes4265 Happy to see you’re interested in this kind of marksmanship training. I primarily use the Armageddon Gear Schmedium w/ heavy fill as my main support bag, and the WieBad Strapless Behemoth as a plump fill bag for my body or the rear of the stock. Thanks for watching!

Nice job. But that timed stage was a bit on the slow side. With a COF that might be tight at the top (our local club has 5-6 guys that can win every month) you might want to add some giddyup to that one. :) Thanks for the shout out and good seeing you at the Nationals.
@@precisionmatchtimer it was a bit on the slow side for sure, but I’d rather be slow than miss. 😉 With grass taller than our target stands, it made target acquisition a little more difficult than normal.. honestly, I was just happy that it impacted after cutting through all that vegetation.

The bloopers are awesome! Thank you so much!!!
regarding restrictions on rooftop bipod touching the ground. Does that mean ground or roof ground?
The way I read it.. bipod can’t touch the ground. The “rooftop” isn’t the ground, therefore as long as your bipod stays on the rooftop it’s correct.
Jammed you hand between timber and scope sunshade and made a fist to brace it all up. That's my guess for your question in stage 1..
Exactly right.. I used my support hand as a wedge.
@@22LimaRomeo 🙂
Using your off hand as a wedge between the rung and your scope on the pyramid

Damn it Kevin, now I have to start digging to make some connections.
@@22LimaRomeo Great video Jeramie! Wish I could like it more than once.
I was very comfortable with watching the "bloopers". Like a real match! 😂
It looks to me like: 1) You are leaning into the barricade. I can't tell if your left arm is straight or not. If it is, then that would be a huge stabilizing factor since the top of your left hand is on the beam above the one your rifle is on. 2) You are stabilizing everything with the top of your left hand on the beam above the rifle and bottom of your left hand on your scope. Question: Can you put any other part of your body on the barricade, such as a knee or foot?
Ding* Ding* Ding* WE HAVE A WINNER!! 🏅 2) You are spot on!!! Stabilizing everything with my left hand on top of the optic wedged in between the rung above. To answer your question; You can put any other part of your body on a barricade unless the stage description states otherwise.
Thank you. Awesome content, BTW.
Regarding your question on how steady you were on stage 1 pyramid. Looks to me like you were jamming your left hand between your rifle/scope and the rung above. PS interestingly I also noticed that you were not using your cuddle bag in the kneeling position which I've seen you do (and emulated with great success) in previous videos.
You’re right!! When I’m building into a low kneel, I don’t need the bag because I’m using my knee as rear support. Thanks for tuning in!
