I don’t care for the new video clips you added or the cheesy melodramatic music. This was perfect the way Carl had it in Cosmos.

May the Eagle (the mind) and the Condor (the heart) fly in the same sky. Taita Alberto Taxo, Indigenous Kichwa spiritual teacher--the book: Shamanic Teachings of the Condor: Encounters with the Mystical Traditions of the Andes describes practices that will help the heart guide the mind--for the young people, not only to give them hope but to give them guidance in a practical technique of transformation--from the elders.

I recent saw Come from away at the theatre, we've implemented systems like this in the past during times of crisis. Once these crisises go away people come away from them feeling a sense of loss. They're missing the unity the crisis caused, like COVID. We need to remember what we experienced during these periods, unity and human kindness and people working for benefit of everybody.

I didn’t find an interest in astronomy till after the great Carl Sagan passed away. I go back and listen to his programs and interviews and he is fantastic and I miss him, he inspired so many people. ❤

Carl Sagan' voice and message is getting overshadowed & lost by that loud music in the background... His messages are something to ponder over and the desire to even listen to this clip has just disappeared...the music is just so distracting...

I can remember, as a very young kid in 1980, watching the original "Cosmos" series which was considered important enough to be broadcast in Britain on the BBC (at a time when there were only three, count 'em, _three_ TV channels). One of the most inspirational science communicators and advocates of critical thinking there has ever been, still sorely missed but his words are with us.

I _really_ wanted to "like" this video, but Carl's wise words are *drowned out* by the OVERLY LOUD music! It's not necessary! Even when I can hear him, the music is a distraction. Sure, I can read the captions, but then I miss a lot of the visuals. This problem is widespread on KZread, in my view. Could my hearing be a factor? Maybe, but then there are likely at least tens of thousands of other people in that same boat.

Imagine hearing that record for the first time, detached completely from any knowledge of the source or of the origin of the sounds on it. For just a moment while listening to Carl's words, I think I felt that. Imagine hearing his words in this recording for the first time. I definately just had that. Thankyou for creating and sharing. And thankyou Carl Sagan, for being you and sharing that. (PS: Bill Nye for president!)

When scientists speak on matters pertaining to their specialties they are almost forced to stick to reason, as science is simply a perpetual demand that one be reasonable. But when they venture outside their specialties they are no more insightful than the next guy you meet at the bus stop. There is no science of history or literature, and probably never will be. Oppenheimer, pressed by colleagues as to the moral implications of the Manhattan Project, then in the final stages of preparing the world's first atomic bombs, replied that he was "without special competence on the moral question." In other words, science told him nothing about the morality of what he was doing, and by implication he thought the matter was a specialized task for some other group to handle, a Department of Extermination Affairs perhaps. This kind of moral imbecility is common in the natural sciences. It's almost an occupational hazard. Why haven't scientists organized themselves into a union to refuse to work on the development of new weapons systems? Doesn't occur to them.

At some point as I was watching the news shortly after the January 6 Insurrection, I saw a video of a man, ranting and raving incoherently, wearing a t shirt that had "Six Million Wasn't Enough" written on it. That was in 2021. Who brainwashed that man? Is there any way to reach him, to talk sense into him? I've known people who are emotionally entrenched in bizarre and hateful ideas, and have failed, utterly, to reason with them. Bronowski's amazing series is, I'm afraid, only preaching to the choir. But our only hope is to reach the children before horrible beliefs render them hopeless.

TO ALL, who watched this Video. IT is quite arrogant, to say what to believe. But that is EXACTLLY what he said us. to believe in what he believes to be true. How can he prove, his reality is true. I believe in everything, nother specific. But to be science men and this and that and to tell others what is wrong and right, is really arrogant!!

Incredibly critical words in the observation that we have created a world so much though science and technology while so few people in it understand science and technology. The danger it represents for misuse is incredible. And the ones most willing to abuse it are the ones who understand it the least. And his observation on education marks the greatest danger to our nation. When you dont educate the people, the people fall for grifts and grifters, then we dont run the government, the government runs us. The reason we have the worst primary education among first world nations. Those in power want people to follow cults of personality not vote for leaders. This is why we have Trump. A symptom of a sick system that invests not in the people but oligarchy. When you no longer believe in the supernatural, the universe opens up to you. You stop putting false images in front of your eyes or false realities in your mind and the way opens to seeing more clearly the beauty of all life and the universe. If you are not careful it can overwhelm your senses. Stay calm. So many times since I deconstructed I have spontaneously smiled or laughed when observing or contemplating life or the universe. I dont have fictions to block my vision orm understanding. The amazement and beauty come through without distortion. You understand that life coming into being on this planet was almost inevitable. How the odds of occuring are so incredibly high given the conditions of our planet and universe. How perfectly sane and practicle evolution is. And our place as primates on this planet. It is amazing and wonderful. The reason for life is being alive.
