Give me a break. I can shift my transfer case with a pinky and my purse in my other hand. Have you ever shifted an np205 after locking the hubs? Forget about it!

No torque out of the motor at low rpm. Like anything under 2100 rpm is near useless. Gearing may be wrong but I say it starts up front with the motor. Fine in the Challenger for high rpm fun but jeeps should have mass amounts of low rpm torque. like the old straight 6... Huge amounts of torque on low end and no top end. But that's what belongs in a Jeep. Again my opinion. I have a 22 gladiator 6 speed with 60'000 miles. Owned since day one. And unfortunately will never buy another FCA / stalantis product again. Good luck everyone and make a wise decision when spending that money on this overpriced aluminum cans that we drive.

Best summary of the Jeep manual I've viewed. The 2021 JT is the 5th manual transmission vehicle I've owned and yes, the most awkward. From a 1st gear that barely gets you moving from a stop to a 6th gear so tall that is only useful at highway speeds with flat terrain, it's puzzling. But, like the reviewer, I would do it over again. I haven't had the recall fix done as of yet, so my comments pertain to the original equipment. The best advice I could provide is to let the engine wind out. Hitting an on ramp at 35 mph in 3rd gear, accelerating to 70 mph at 4500 or so rpms before shifting to 4th is a blast. 3rd, 4th and even 5th gears are the sweet spots in the vehicle as long as the rpms are north of 2200.

Def not the cheapest in America. You have to be more correct. It's the cheapest you can find in your area. The cheapest in America would be a used one. You don't seem smart just someone who can read specs of a vehicle and talk about them on camera. Nice video but not what i expected to watch.

I have just over 75K miles on by 2020 JT Rubicon 6MT on 35s. In 30 years I have only daily driven 1 automatic. My cars have been a mix of VW GTIs (Mk 1, Mk2, Mk 5), '93 Saab 900, and a '03 BMW 325ix. My automatic was an 03 Land Rover Discovery. I know everyone's experience with their own vehicles are different. I have no problems with the JT6MT. On 35s 6th gear is too tall but I don't want to screw with my axle gearing. I will say that the spacing between 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 is high so I generally shift at something over 3K rpm. The light clutch helps a LOT off road, especially when reversing, because at least for me I can focus on the engagement point rather than holding the clutch in place. I think the linkages are fine. Its not a BMW. But its fine for a jeep, especially when pulling a trailer. I would totally get another one - long live the manual! Anyway, thanks for the video and for taking the time to create your content.

I modified my JT to make shifting more efficient. First, I installed the Corsa performance air cleaner so that I could hear the engine between shifts. Then I installed a 3/4 inch long pin (1/2 inch diameter) into the floor right next to the accelerator. My right foot then pivots off this pin instead of pivoting off my heel. I can modulate acceleration perfectly at my shift points. Now, I almost never stall when starting off in 1st or reverse. I shift at 3000 rpm mostly and cruise at 60 and above in 5th gear. All is well now, even without the recall modification. Oh, I average 22 to 23 mpg.

Thanks for this video. I didn’t want to have our recall done until I heard a review on the results. Our 2023 Wrangler is our first Jeep. We ordered it and our first drive was after we owned it. I was immediately disappointed in the clutch feel. We have the Sport S and the axles are geared too high with the 3.55 I think. 6th gear is useless below 70 mph. I’m thinking of a regear but with the wonky ratios I’m afraid I’d like it less. What axle ratio does the Gladiator have? Thanks, Dave

I had a 2022 Mojave with the 6 speed manual and got rid of it because the trans noise completely ruined the driving experience. I've had several Jeeps and 4 Glady's, and by far the Mojave is my favorite trim. 3 dealers told me they would not take it apart to try and repair it because according to them, something has to break for Jeep to pay for the repairs!! I was so disappointed and I felt the same embarrassment every time people looked at me like I didn't know how to drive a manual - LOL 58 years old and been driving manuals for most of my life!! Traded it for another Glady Sport S with the 8 speed manul (that was my 3rd) and it was flawless. Got the itch for a manual again and test drove several 6peeds in my area and they did not have the noise - so I took advantage of the deals and purchased a 6 speed 2023 Glady - it was fine for the first 100 miles - then the noise started again!! Feel like a fool - now I'm waiting on the dealer to get back to me with an appointment. Apparently they do not have too many techs who can work on manual trans. Let me know if you got your fixed - I've driven Rigs, school buses, dump trucks, etc.... with Manuals that do not make the noise this Jeep makes. So frustrated. Thanks for the great vids and I look forward to an update on your trans repair.

April 2024, bought a 2023 Mojave for $43500. cold weather pack, hard top, aux switches, cloth. MSRP was $63500. Turning in my leased Pro4X (2023mdl). The Pro4 X Frontier is amazing! 21.6 MPG vs. 15.8 on the Moj. The ride is also nicer, seat position is better & more. But, it would cost a small fortune to add 33's! I can add 35's to my Moj without modification. I fear the fiat bubbling up on this Moj, but it's real fun off road.. (so is Frontier, but jeep is better).

I like these Gladiators and it would make a great beach/home improvement material hauler for me but these are not $72k vehicles, if it were prices as they appear now $45k - $50k like they should one would probably be sitting in my driveway.

Yeah the hard top is still SUPER loud and the heat here in Florida just bakes the top of my head lol. With that said, I mostly dont mind because the benefits far outweigh the downsides. It's not for everyone. I bought a Jeep knowing what I was getting into. Also specific to the Mojave, the suspension makes the experience on and offroad. We have a fully loaded JL Sahara we bought for my daughter. I'll hop in my Mojave 90% of the time if given the choice because of how much more comfortable the ride is. I do like her turbo 4 more for the peppy nature but I'll take my suspension over that any day of the week

I think mpg is very subjective. Stock JK 2 dr manual, I got 20/21 on highway. Now I’m lifted 2.5” 33” tires and steel bumpers, I get 11/12 mpg in the city. Highway: 17 mpg, and combined is 14/15 mpg. My throw out bearing and clutch pivot is noisy as all hell. It has been noisy since new. I’m gonna upgrade to a centerforce hydraulic throw out bearing next time I disassemble the drivetrain.

Usually after putting it in 1st, then neutral, then back to 1st. Hopefully it just needs a little breaking in like your original clutch. Dealer is double checking the fix for me now. Great video but a few inaccuracies that I see here and in many other videos. Inflation is not causing the jump in car prices, car prices have risen at a MUCH higher rate than inflation, the rise in prices is purely due to corporate greed. Another thing, you mentioned supply and demand. Demand for these vehicles is at rock bottom, that’s why they are so heavily discounted. I love the vehicle but I refuse to buy purely on principle, stellantis along with ford and Toyota have been some of the greediest companies during Covid and post-covid and they deserve to be punished for their anti-consumer practices.
