Spider-man 🤝 Sonic That one fan material than everyone thougth was gonna be epic but ended up being controversial garbage
the cutscenes in frontiers are so dull but back then when I was getting into sonic I didn't think that much of it 😭😭 now I know why it took me a while to become a fan of the franchise.
Classic sonic level design was always dynamic and resembled a skatepark with ramps and hills and slopes so you can actually pull off cool tricks with the physics but now idk whats going on but sonic levels now are always so flat you run down flat hallways and are springed into red rings and the most insulting objects in the levels are those weird dash panel ramps its so insulting because instead of putting a natural ramp that allows for the physics to shine through instead they use those fake dash pad ramps that are so clearly automated and doesn't require any skill to use... honestly its weird cause i feel like its definitely gotten better since forces obviously but its still inconsistent

It's hard to develop a character who's entire character was made for Sonic. It's one of the downsides of creating a character for another character. Your taking away the aspects that made them THEM, so they start feeling like a whole new character the moment they start getting development to distance themselves from the character they were attached to. This applies to Tails too. any time both Amy and Tails get "development", the next games it's rewritten.

If you did not grow up with Sonic on the SEGA Megadrive/Genesis you may miss the whole point of Mania. I played through Mania once as I have a busy life and don't get so much time for games anymore. Mania was nostalgic in a good way - good game.

I think all of your points are extremely valid! The only complaints that I could really give for the level design of Shadow’s stage is that some of the paths are unnecessarily wide and aesthetic architecture around the first half of the stage is near nonexistent. Other than those two things, this is looking really promising. Let’s just hope it lives up to the hype.
