    Geno, DK, and JSN are being underrated. The scheme was not good; too predictable and not so creative. They did have some good play design at times, but the play calling was a head scratcher in many games in 2023. The O line performance really thru Geno and his targets off time. Agree about Charbonnet; not a second round draft pick. Again, he was not utilized that good for his skill set. Finally, depth at O line that we haven't had in years.

    There you go sounding like a guy with not much knowledge about Geno ..the fact that Geno hasn't truly played all 12 years of his career and to hear him say he feels young should be tell tale sign and he ran a 21 mph in OTA .. c'mon man !!!

    I know Geno feels young and his body feels good but Father Time always wins. He might be able to prevent decline till he’s 39 or 40 but it is going to come. I’m a believer that he absolutely can be the guy for the next 4 or 5 years but probably not the next decade like a young guy.

    Yeah I’m a Jake Bobo truther. WR2 might be high but he did a great job with his limited opportunities. The contested catch skills are no joke and I think he will get the snaps due to his run blocking. Of course WR2 is a projection but I think it’s certainly possible.

    I was thinking that our RB splits would be a lot like AJ and Jones a couple of years ago. Aaron Jones got the middle of the field while AJ got the redzone and short down threats. In terms of being a scat back both can do it. I would say Bobo are JSN are better contested than DK not Tyler (when contesting I think of high pointing the ball). Tyler is more of a catch in the bucket player. It’s not like DK got those good chances at those balls. He’s just not a WR you can throw behind or below when he is going full speed. He has shown spots of high pointing balls. Geno and him just can’t seem to connect on it. But I agree it’s not like he’s some prime dhop monster JSN’s whole college game was about the in routes, the slants, the zigs. You never saw that here until we were down in the 4th. He’s more technically sound than Lockett and DK coming out of college. He’s naturally going to get better. I agree he has to prove it but let’s be honest here if Zay flowers or Addison came to Seattle it would mirror JSN’s season

    He's a very interesting player and I'm really pulling for the hawks to sign him (mostly so I can breakdown his tape 🤣). The respect that he has in the league is really high and although I haven't watched any of his tape I think he would be one of if not the best players on the offensive line if heatlhy. The injury is a concern but if the contract is cheap than this would be pretty much all upside as he is only 27 years old so he could absolutely have a good career here in Seattle. The fit is also just so good as Miami loved outside zone and Grubb would love to pull Williams and get him moving. I don't know if this is a vote of no confidence in Olu. I don't know the specifics but based on how late his ACL tear was, I doubt he would start week 1. So maybe you sign him and give everyone 5-6 weeks to settle down and then see if you want him to take over for Olu or maybe play guard and replace Tomlinson, Bradford, Haynes, etc. If the contract is cheap enough, I think this could be a great move to just limit the questions on the interior of the offensive line and really raise the floor significantly. If he's going to be more expensive, I don't know about the signing because he might not even be needed as a starter and might hurt the development of the younger guys in Olu, Bradford and Haynes. Thanks for your comments!

    u have 2 corners on your team i fought people on for months . Tariq Woolen was my guy coming out of Utsa . Even the lions coaches were impressed with him at the senior bowl when they coached him he was my number 2 corner that year. Spoon was the the best guy at 6 i wanted spoon because of his brian branch ability . the guy plays inside and out and everything he did proved most lions fans wrong. The idea that drafting a corner at 6 was contreversial was quickly nullified with his play. guys a baller even a child could see these 2 were light years above. However, getting brian branch was to me the safest and the right pick in second round . even confirmed by others that we got gibbs and laporta cause spoon was gone. so im happy u guys got a dawg and so did i . Matter of fact i got 2 . But tariq woolen still haunts me to this day. if we got woolen my mock draft would have been at 95% correct. whew. good times . Great content as per usual.

    Modern defenses might also give up some yards on the ground to encourage you to run, so they can take it away on the next set of downs. Get you behind the sticks on first down. Then the trick is to flip the switch at the right time, when the offense decides to throw on 1st.

    First of all, thanks for watching! I really love seeing fans from other teams. The right tackle actually did everything right on that play. Since you only have 2 blockers for 3 pass rushers you always block the inside guys first so he did exactly as he should’ve. He has to work to pass of the stunt because you want to seal the inside pressure first. Everyone (including Purdy who makes a great play) does their job perfectly but the scheme is just better. As for the tipped pick, that also was pure scheme. There’s no other reason to bring a corner blitz on 3rd and 1. He is specifically baiting this RPO adjustment. Amazing scheme. Obviously should’ve just been an incompletion either by the tip or Purdy honestly should’ve just spiked it. I mean absolutely no disrespect to Shannahan. He is a top 3 HC no question. I’m just excited that the Seahawks finally have a coach who will be able to fight back. Thanks for watching!

If you’re looking for a new editor for your podcast I couldn’t recommend CapCut enough. Easy to use and powerful. I think having the depth of Tomlinson and Fant on the offensive line will be a very good thing. Hopefully, it won't be needed much, but Lucas is still uncertain, and Fant may have to start the season at right tackle. Seattle drafted Haynes who will likely become a starter in not too long. Like Fant over Lucas, Tomlinson also is likely the starter over Haynes week one, but regardless of who starts, the depth is the key thing. When Seattle lost Lucas last year, it was devastating. Seattle was a little better at the guard position with Lewis, Bradford, and Phil Haynes, but injuries were still an issue there too. Having the depth now to weather these storms, especially at tackle, is going to be a huge factor in the Seahawks returning to the playoffs.

  • @The_Legion_of_12s
    @The_Legion_of_12s10 күн бұрын

    Sure yeah. He is weird because he not only has one of the biggest arms in the NFL, but he also has one of the fastest releases. There are throws that he made in college where in one quick flick of the wrist he is able to throw it on a line at a million miles an hour for like 40 yards. His arm strength + release is probably the best in the NFL already. There are quarterbacks that have a similar lightning quick release (Purdy and Tua) but usually they have no where near the arm strength of Penix. That makes him very unique. As far as his weaknesses, I don't think his accuracy was that great. Even if you look at the footage in the video, there are instances where the WRs have to work a lot harder than they should've had to. There's not really a good comp because no one has that combination of arm strength and quick release. Geno is probably not a very bad one. Penix has better arm strength and a faster release for sure, but I think Geno has better accuracy and processing. Hope that answers your question!

  • @The_Legion_of_12s
    @The_Legion_of_12s10 күн бұрын

    I probably wouldn't bet on Bobo being a WR1 or WR2 but I think once the role opens up he will be an excellent WR3. I wouldn't say that his speed is a limiting factor though. You really can throw out the 4.99 time because he was running through mud in a downpour but I think he is about as fast as like DeHop so he could become a contested catch X receiver but he has to show a lot more consistent ball winning for that to happen. You're 100% right that we probably won't get a great look until Lockett retires or (heaven forbid) one of the WRs in front of him gets injured for a while. In the game when he came in for DK, he went off for 61 yards and a touchdown. Exciting to watch and probably underrated compared to national media.

    I think they were pretty similar tbh. Our expectations changed quite a bit after he was so good in his rookie year. The hawks put a lot on him, almost always leaving him without any help. I think he has performed pretty well over the past two years and if he can figure out the tackling a little bit he could be a huge weapon for Macdonald.

    I'm watching as a Ravens fan that was not a McDonald fan at all. I see at least 3 years of struggle before the defense plays somewhat like they did in Baltimore. I don't know about Seattle's players, but it really took Roquan Smith and all the players having 2 seasons in our defense to play well. The first year before Roquan Smith got there, they played atrociously because the lack of communication wasn't relayed throughout the play well. Kyle Hamilton, being an All-Pro, also allowed him to get away with a lot of things. Overall, I'm expecting him to have 5 to 6 years before he gets fired for underperforming in that division.

    This is a take I haven’t heard before so thank you for sharing. While I agree that he might have struggled a little bit for the 3 months, since then I think he has been one of if not the best defensive coordinators and he runs a scheme that is permeating through the league right now. I have faith in Mike Mac but I also get your concerns. Thanks for watching! It’s always great to hear what Ravens fans think.

    Loved this video. Improvement in OLine (and your video out our defense learning how to stop the run) will be the keys to an improved season imo. Also still really nervous about Tomlinson, Olu, and Bradford working together. The OLine coach has his hands full for sure. Go Hawks!

    Thanks for the kind words! I am curious about how the interior offensive line will shake out. I think that Christian Haynes is almost certainly going to start at Right Guard so I’d probably say it’s going to be Tomlinson and Haynes. Still a shaky group but I think the depth is pretty decent for a change and I have faith that it will be fine. Getting Cross and Lucas to be strengths at tackle will be more of the challenge. Thanks for watching!

    I think it needs to be said that the offense Shane Waldron ran, didn't look like a Rams offense (where he came from), but still like the old offense. So ask yourself, who had the say over those decisions

  • @The_Legion_of_12s
    @The_Legion_of_12s15 күн бұрын

    I absolutely see where you're coming from and I think that is actually an interesting point. I will say that I don't think that Waldron deviating from what McVay runs is weird or a problem. I mean Kevin O'Connell is also a Sean McVay disciple but he also doesn't really look much like Mcvay. I actually think some of the three tight end stuff that he did was pretty interesting and I think overall he was dealt a poor hand from the lack of offensive line talent. Don't get me wrong I am really excited for a new offense that won't be under Pete because I do think he had an influence. But I also really wouldn't love it if Waldron just tried to import exactly what McVay does because 9 times out of 10 that just doesn't work. End of the day you have to adjust to your talent and I think Waldron tried (emphasis on tried) to do that. :) Thanks for watching this older video :) I hope you enjoyed.

    @@The_Legion_of_12s quite right, you have to adjust. But do you really think, Sean Mc Vay or Waldron wouldn't let Geno throw over the middle of the field?

    @@paulihme6934 I hope Geno will throw over the middle more this year too. I do think that there probably was some pressure from Pete to not turn the ball over (i.e. don't throw it over the middle). Still I can kinda see it from his perspective that if you want to best use DK and Lockett you gotta attack deep and outside the numbers. But I would love to see JSN feast over the middle and I think that'll be the plan.

    You’re talking about Trent Williams? He was the only big piece that got injured but he still got 46% of the snaps in that game. I get that losing him is big but losing an offensive lineman for half the game is hardly a good excuse when you still have 3 all pros on offense after Trent got injured.

    Jones was average- pretty much in every way they used him, he's fine but he's just overpaid for his production. Even playing in his natural position he wasn't better than average. It's definitely concerning.

  • @The_Legion_of_12s

    I don’t disagree. A lot of his film was difficult to watch. I think that Macdonald will have a more specialized role for him so he can focus on what he does well (pass rushing from 5/6 technique) but yeah he is certainly overpaid right now. I think he can return dividends if used correctly but I don’t know if I’d bet on it. Honestly Jarran Reed was a better player last year. 🤷
