So, so good. Coming from someone born in 1984 that didn't even follow C64 games till ~2015. Good example of C64 blowing NES out of the water. Perfectly plays to the system's strengths.

This is beaten by the Amstrad CPC version. Even the SID is underwhelming compared to the "pokey"

Odd game. I know it's meant to be "sheepherding", but It's basically frogger mixed with the pacman ghost chase, for no apparent reason. I never never noticed this at the time. I'd say the programmer is probably pissed off that it's only remembered at all because of the music. I must give it another play sometime

Took me FOREVER to find this again. All I remembered about it (besides how much fun I had) was that it used isometric graphics and had a stage select (so not much to go by). Fortunately, I found a list of platformer games for C64 and managed to spot it among them. I played this a whole lot as a kid but could never complete the game because there was corrupt data on the disk causing one of the levels to freeze in the same place every time.

The Atari XL is similar, but its music stood out as particularly impressive when compared to the C64.

What the world needs now is a next-gen version of Bop N Rumble. Nothing fancy. Just a sidescroller in which you headbutt grannies, kick old blind men in the balls, shave Gorilla's balls before twirling them in the air and throwing them across the screen. In 3840 by 2160 with Dolby Atmos audio. Playing this exact melody on orchestral horns and pianos. And at least three times as many enemies to fight at once, incentivising you to smack people into each other and throw people at one another. Make videogames dirty again!

Got this game for Christmas and it never loaded past the intro screen. So bummed at the time that i could not play it and wanted to play so nuch I still have the original disk and box it came in. EA owes me big time for robbing me of a part of my childhood with sending defective disks. Looks boring to me now but i sure would of spent endless hours on it back then.

considering it's age WOTEF is the best beat em up or w/e you choose to phrase themm people like to say IK+ but i had both games and WOTEF was easily the superior game.....the one hit and you lose the round mechanics and idea, was imho genius

i think this was a very strong influence on later games such as the unholy war Archon series and another game called powerplay really influenced the TBS games we see more and more of today

I beat this game 40ish years ago. I spent weeks with friends comparing notes and talking about this game when I should have been doing my algebra work. Remembering that, and watching a play through now, I can't believe how much there is to this game. All the Windham Classic games were so much fun.

used to love the music at 19:29 , so nice to hear that again .. still mind blowing that they made such a nice piece of music for such a rare part of the game (also the mini games in general are amazing) esp with the memory constraints. you might not get that done even in a modern game without being told by some jumped up lead that it needs to be optimized better or heard more widely in the game.. lots to learn from classic games like this one

Well now I understand why I was never able to beat the game. I did everything correctly, but always ran out of moves on the final puzzle. Didn’t realise you could shunt entire rows and columns in one go! Always moved the squares individually. Well duh now heh.

This game, so many good memories. This must have been my first "exploration" game and one of my first games altogether, and it fascinated my a lot back then. Something you can't quite put into words. Obviously a game with imperfect mechanics, but that's totally beside the point.
