    He is absolutely unbelievable! I think he will also break the 1500 and a mile and maybe even more world records. He’s very close on both of those and he even has a very competitive 5K in the top 20 all time.

    I LOVE mizunos - the only sneaker that has ever worked for me - so I was excited to find this video, but where does one purchase these with a free return policy? I'm not sure what size I'd be - I waver between two sizes - so I'd need to be able to order both sizes and return one.

    Great time and video. Ran it yday in 6h24m, beating my previous best by 13mins. Was a perfect day weather wise, no wind or rain and about 1degree. Path was a bit muddy, and caught a fair few walkers on single file sections. Think I can get a sub 6 hour time after watching this video for sure sometime soon. Thanks !

    What a great video. I raced in the 80’s and early 90,s and remember many of these shoes. Some I had that weren’t mentioned are the Eagle ( black and white), American Eagle (red white and blue), Spiridon Gold, Terra TC, as well as many Waffle Racers. I often regret not keeping some of these shoes for decorations. Thanks for showing your collection.

    Question is.......why do these guys need someone to set the pace ?? They been running for how many years ? They cant run their " own " race ????

  • @piggy6801
    @piggy68014 ай бұрын

    To have somebody break the wind for them, plus it helps to not use mental energy and just relax behind somebody and let them do the thinking instead

  • @user-tc3ou6sy5f
    @user-tc3ou6sy5f4 ай бұрын

    @@piggy6801 So isnt this a race ?? Why allow them to cheat by having someone do their dirty work such as breaking the wind ???? Its no fair to other runner from years back when they never had pace setters ! I ran in a many races....half mile........mile and marathons. I never needed a pace setter ! I think these guys / women need to grow up and run their race !

  • @piggy6801
    @piggy68014 ай бұрын

    @@user-tc3ou6sy5f Well, you were also never very good, were you. People have used pace setters for a very, very, very long time. At least as far back as when Roger Bannister broke 4 minutes for the very first time in 1954. As for it being unfair to other runners from before that, well, what about modern tracks and shoes and training? That's all unfair, too, isn't it? So should we all run barefoot on dirt tracks and only run 40 miles a week? Absolutely not. Besides, it's no different than being in a normal race where an actual competitor leads for the first 3 laps, and then you pass him at the end. I think you need to grow up and stop downplaying the achievements of incredible athletes from your couch

  • @user-tc3ou6sy5f
    @user-tc3ou6sy5f4 ай бұрын

    @@piggy6801 So who should determine how many pace setters should be on the track at one time ??? One....two ....three......four pace setters ?? Besides each runner might want his own pace setter to breck the wind for him because some of the runners might choose to drop back over 50 yards. If they dont have a pace setter to breck the wind...is that fair ? You can be the judge on my abilities. I qualified for the Boston Marathon twice ...best time was 2 hours 40 minutes. Best 10k. 28 minutes. Best 5 K. 15 minutes. By no means world class ! When running on a track......with a pace setter its totally unfair to all the runners ! Its causing congestion on the track. The famous statement always comes up " I got boxed in " Its those runners each of whom " qualified " are the only runners that should be on the track. Regarding the track.....clothing ...shoes. Every surface is different. Thats a part of qualifying and a race....the unknown. Shoes... often runners have run barefoot.....either part of the race or the entire race barefooted. That has no part in a qualifying race. No one should be allowed on the track unless they qualified to run in that race.
