    Great video😊 The Lightstrike Pro density is the same as Adios Pro 2 or firmer? For me Pro v1 is better shoe than v2 but version 3 looks good and the extended roods are very interesting option.

    Feels a little softer to me - and there is a little more of it. It’s the new shape of the midsole that makes the difference. I’m sure it will be great after a few runs getting used to the feel.

    I totally agree, for me V1 is a better and faster shoe than V2, I'm 5 sec/ mile faster over a 5K with the same relative effort. Incorporating too much tech sometimes backfires, I don't like running in clunky/ voluminous shoes, the same argument for Nike I would prefer the Vaporfly over the Alphafly.

    I still appreciate the simple prototype-like design of the v1. Works by far better for me than v2, more stable, better fit and even a few grams lighter. I was lucky enough to buy 4 pairs - enough for a few racing seasons :-)

    I’m currently running in v1 because i found v2 to be too narrow in the arch interestingly on the right foot only. Do you think I will have the same problem with v3 ? Would you say v3 are as narrow as v2 ? Or are the a little wider especially in arches ?

  • @TheRunningShoeGuru

    @TheRunningShoeGuru

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'd say they are very similar fit, but if the issue is the width on only one foot it's more likely down tot he shape/size of your feet than the shape of the shoes which are the same left and right!

    Interesting Paul - really mixing there with some names ha ha! I see this going to be £220 in the UK - a big hike from v2. I wasn't clear if you thought this was "better" than the v2 regardless of the price? Any comments on length/fit in this one. adidas, for reasons best known to them, only make adizero road shoes to a UK 12.5 (but Terrex to a UK 13.5) and annoyingly they often come up fractionally shorter than I would like in the 12.5. I live in hope of a UK 13.5/US 14 (as their main competitor does). I suspect no joy this time though.

    Hey Tim. In terms of fit I always go a half up compared to other brands in any adidas. (So adidas uk10, but Nike, Brooks etc uk9.5) I think Terrex models are probably different in sizing due to the Salomon connect of old, and the trail shoes coming from different production lines/factories - my old Salomon sales rep also told us many years ago that Salomon half sizes were intact simply the full size in a slightly wider fit (but that’s going off on another tangent completely!) Width wise they are quite slim(as many of these carbon supershoes tend to be) and I found the upper has a little less give than many others. Price is a little steep isn’t it - especially given lots of shoes around at sun £200 (even saying that sounds crazy - like less than £200 is great!!) One such shoe is 361 Flame - will do video this week, great shoe, £150.

    @@TheRunningShoeGuru yeah adidas UK sizing is 0.5 more than say Nike so a UK 12.5 adidas is like a Nike UK 12 - but both US 13 or 31 cm. Ideally I go for a 32 cm shoe which would be Nike UK 13 or adidas UK 13.5. The 13.5 I have in the Terrex Speed Ultra definitely is "longer" than the 12.5 I have in say the Adios Pro 2. It is just that the Adios Pro 2 did come up slightly longer than say the Adios 6 or Boston 10 so whilst I soon abandoned the latter two the Adios Pro 2 was at least borderline OK. Not sure I want to spend £220 for a shoe at least half size too small though! So I presume then you took your normal adidas size in these which was really what was asking! Interesting about Salomon nonetheless. I did get the S/Lab Pulsar in a UK 13.5 so can sort of see the connection as they mirror that UK style sizing of only being 0.5 less than US sizes. Ditto New Balance & Hoka.

    The carbon rods desgin. Over time would he rods not end up coking through and into one's toes?? :) And do you feel the rods under your feet at any time? Or do you only feel the odds working when youre at speed?

  • @TheRunningShoeGuru

    @TheRunningShoeGuru

    2 жыл бұрын

    not sure how the shoe could possibly wear away from the inside through the insole and cushioning so that you could ever feel the rods? I've never worn the insole let alone to such an extent that the cushioning starts to wear away! The rods work effectively - you don't feel the individual rods - just a slightly stiffer toe-off, but it all works well.

    Hello thanks for the review. Version 2 is perfect for runners with narrow feet. Is version 3 wider so someone would go half size down? Also front of the shoe looks narrower than V2. Does V3 has a metal plate at the rear as V2? Thanks!

  • @TheRunningShoeGuru

    @TheRunningShoeGuru

    Fit is very similar to v2. No plate in the rear of v3 (it was carbon piece in v2 - not metal!) but that has gone - it’s the new one piece carbon rods as you can see in the video.

    @@TheRunningShoeGuru Thanks a lot! Since it has 3mm more foam in the forefoot, the actual drop is closer to 5.5mm (not sure at which part of the shoe the measurement takes place). • @TheRunningShoeGuru

    @TheRunningShoeGuru

    2 жыл бұрын

    well it does feel a little unstable as I explain in the video, but many of these type of racing shoes do. When worn for racing you really should be trying to land a little more mid foot and therefore reducing the amount of heel strike and likelihood of 'over-pronating'. 'rolling you ankle' suggests to me, going over laterally on your ankle - nothing really to do with 'over-pronation' in many instances simply unlucky or due to uneven ground. If the ground is uneven don't wear racing shoes. thanks for watching.
