This channel is dedicated to the Starfleet Command III game.
I am constantly refining a balanced multi-era mod that has combat closer to sfc2 but keeps the original story campaign and has a challenging TNG conquest mode. To do this I have made use of many 3d models and mods found in various locations around the internet.
I can't reference every person (too many to count!) but I can mention the main mods I have used at least in part to build this personal modification:
Background mod, Brothers Keeper, Dominon Wars, Generations at war, Legion at War, MIrror mod, New Dawn, Orion Plus mod, Project Armada, Rexpansion mod, Return of the Borg, Typhon pact, Stargate mod, TNG Megamod, TOS mod, TrueTrek, Upgrade mod

18:19 Holy Toledo, those Jem’Hadar have more firepower than even you.
16:18 Good for the newly minted Commander! It’s nice to see that AI Players also can gain XP
11:58 Took it out from under them with a Scan mission.
The Shield Inverter in your Lance Slot would certainly be incredibly useful for Boarding Tactics, although I’m wondering why you seem to have less torpedoes available. Was it a budget or ship power issue?
If you observe, you will notice that the Mass available for Weapons is 7500. With all weapons using this total, 7300. You could put at most + 1 Photon Torpedo (200) or K-Photon (150) or Antimater Minelayer (150) and nothing else. Warp power is not a problem (150, 112.2 being used).
Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't a Vice Admrial be flying a Desk??? ;D
You are right but also not right! Riker said in ''All Good Things'' that one of the benefits of being a (full) admiral is that you get to choose your own ship :)
@@dieeiervonsatan1850 That is so very true. Did you have to download SFC 3? I can't find my disk
I have an original disk version but I also bought the GOG.com version too.
In the redesign of the Shield Inversion Beam into the Phaser Lance, were you able to find the solution as to why the AI cannot use the Shield Inversion Beam?
I wish, it was mostly for two reasons 1) I can use the beam previously for something else 2) I wanted a super weapon for my Armoured Voyager which was less powerful than the transphasic torpedo, which one shots everything but the Borg. As the AI can't use it, it makes sense to keep it as a player only weapon.
I don't think Using the Shield Inversion Weapon as a Base for the Phaser Lance was a good idea. Remember that the Phaser Lance was capable of penetrating shields and causing devastating damage directly to the hull. Something that Shield Inversion is unable to do, after all it only deals damage to shields.
Yeah the phaser lance on the refit galaxy was about shield penetration, but there is only the polaron and pulse phasers which can do that in this game. It is possible to mod the weapons to give any weapon this property, but last time I tried to do this - I failed! The inversion beam doesn't just target shields, it does damage to all four sides of your ship whether shields are up or down. So it should be particularly effective against the Borg as they're (mostly) unshielded. I think it makes sense for it to be a slow reloading heavy weapon, instead of a primary beam. The inversion beam isn't used by the AI so makes sense (to me) to be a super weapon, allowing me to utilise the other weapon in another way. If I could change one thing about this game it would be to add more weapon types.
@@dieeiervonsatan1850 Interesting, thanks for the answer. Unfortunately it is not yet possible to add new systems (Weapons, Shields, etc.) to the game. I hope that someday you will make your game modifications available for download.
15:50 Attack of the Phantom Fed! That armor really is a necessity for Cloaking.
And that's why the Klingons are better at it than the Romulans.
6:28 1 Barrage of Quantums just mulched a Cardassian Station Shield? I think the Romulans put up a much harder fight, unless the Cardassians are holding the big stations in reserve.
Cardassians have much better defense platforms in terms of weapons, but their shields are pretty pathetic.
1:13 Used enough Torpedoes there?
And it appears the Cardassians are next on the Menu
A bit easier than the Romulans and a lot easier than the Borg!
The Cardie Starbase looks like a Klingon one.
It does look like a klingon one.
A little yeah, it's taken from another game but was for the Cardassians. The starbases are the Nor type we see as DS9.
@@dieeiervonsatan1850 oh ok
@dieeiervonsatan1850 it's funny because they got the weapons platform from DS9 correct. It would have been nicer to see DS9 model stations.
This campaign is so odd. There is room for so much potential but i feel the main mission production was cut short. From a tweaking perspective, it is also odd in finding a way to upscale the Borg to be a great threat with what little there is to work with them. Only 4 types of Cutting beams, one type that's only reliably used by Cubes and bases, finding the right armor strengths to give them with only 5 armor classes, and lastly that huge prestiege spike after the second mission. I could set the starting ship to the Probe (cheapest ship of the Rexpansion version) and the Cube will still be able to be purchased after mission 2. No room for climbing up the ship classes in this campain.
Yeah, it's very 'tacked on'. It's hard to balance anything using the original race sets if you want a decent balance where the Borg feel as powerful as the shows, but also beatable in the game. It's why I generally have 5 primary weapon types for each main faction with significant differences and I balance by using the number of weapons a ship has, then each race has a minimum of 2 heavy weapons that again scale significantly. I've combined the shield and armours across the races as you've seen. 160,000 prestige for the second mission is a huge chunk, but it's not enough for a cube in my current version - it might be enough for an assimilator, combined with the 18,000 from the first mission and the resell value of the starting ship. However, the Borg economy is pretty poor and you don't see BBs very often. The remaining missions can easily be done with a sphere.
16:38 I think that's the worst lag I've seen from the game yet. So bad it buffered your ship's high energy turn animation!
Yeah, it can get very frustrating :(
11:26 Now the Phoenix wants to help out, after the Sphere is already destroyed!
Typical, more like I'm escorting them!
15:13 You weren’t kidding about the armor being able to take a few hits.
Yeah, it's an effective ambushing ship - still not a great idea to keep cloaking in and out.
13:01 A Dominion Battlegroup. Wasn’t expecting these guys prowling the Borg/Romulan border
9:28 That seems to be a recurring bug, that 2 things need repairs at the start of every mission
I think...I'm not sure. But, the idea might be that BBs need extra maintenance in the campaign - it gets worse over time. Even if not intended it's a nice bug.
8:54 Successful deployment of Marines usually gives a good return on your investment. Definitely makes more Prestige back in the Bonus Payout than you spend on reloading them
4:43 Smart having the enemy roast on the sun
Haven't done it in a while, got a bit of it too!
I miss that game, that was such a GREAT game you could import that game into Unreal it would be a fantastic game today.... with updates. The modding community was TOP NOTCH!
Yeah, so much potential. If it was launched today with modern engines and better mod support it would kill star trek online for starship combat.
@@dieeiervonsatan1850 OMG, Startrek Onlien is pathetic, the combat, to the mapping, it is the small universe, you look at Eve online, OMG it is HUGE that is what the Startrek game should be! DONT GET me started.... Ugh
@@dieeiervonsatan1850 not surprised, the original combat for STO was based off this game before STO got oversaturated with MMO quick time abilities.
28:00 I’m surprised you didn’t try to swipe that D’Deridex
With that many ships, it would have died before getting captured.
10:33 No more Romulans, no more Treaty of Algeron. Time to show the Galaxy how a professional uses the cloak.
Great minds think alike. The galaxy refit has the armor to take a few hits, unlike Romulan ships.
9:12 So bad you actually pulled out of the fight, huh?
I was only going to take extreme damage or lose my ship, don't feel like going back to a frigate!
7:49 Holy Toledo, those Tac Spheres don’t play around
Yeah, once you get to spheres in the Borg tree - things get serious. You need at least equal numbers of equivalent class ships.
A rare and formidable sight to see, the Galaxy Refit. Can't wait to see one in full affect! Galaxy's still stand to be my favorite ship in all of Federation. 20:31 Was so satisfying to see one Quantum Torpedo being sent after another, especially 6 in a row like that! Imagine if some of those were Legendary launches (shout-out to your Tactical officer for surviving the damage from the Borg attack)
Grew up watching re-runs of TNG so the Galaxy was a favourite of mine too. My brain melted when I saw this thing decloak in the final episode. Yeah the ripple fire effect is nice, once I do it once and I keep on target it should happen if I keep my trigger held! I'm usually looking to unload them all into a weak shield facing usually.
RIP to the marines manning the captured defense platform
Maybe they got to an escape pod :D If it has escape pods...
24:07 One of your guys actually bit it?!
Yep, with that many causalities was kind of inevitable. We got messed up, half of my fail runs are just straight up losses.
16:57 Holy Frijole. Who’s still standing on your crew?!
14:55 The last bit your shields could give. This is going to be a tough station to crack
Got softened up by the Romulan ships.
4:37 For a Story Campaign mission, that is one tough Warbird
Yeah, the Valdore is something to worry about.
4:26 Endor’s Finest were surprisingly durable for a neutral party.
Yep, those ships are from the Bridge Commander single campaign who were tricked by the Cardassians, quite tough for a small nation.
So, what’s wrong with Spy Games that makes you not want to do it?
Ah, sadly it's just broken - instantly crashes when loading the map. I think it's a map problem, it was always very buggy - would work 50% of the time at best.
10:51 Poker with the Enterprise Senior Staff?! There’s no way that’s going to remain normal, or profitable.
It's a nice call back to TNG, not sure if they showed a Poker scene on the Enterprise E though.
4:47 It’s amazing what Romulans are capable of unleashing when it’s not one of THEIR worlds.
Yeah, they have a very 'ends justify the means' approach and don't care about the wider effects of their actions.
Nice to see an enemy target captured, even if it was a defense platform. I always played trying to capture something from the enemy to help my forces.
Yeah, sometimes its enough just to use it as a decoy.
15:20 Picard's praise hits a little different when you're one dust cloud visit away from your ship exploding after this mission. Also really appreciate the orders afterwards to proceed immediately to our next mission, as no bases are in range. Like we don't want to repair our ship after the most challenging mission of the game (on hardest difficulty)!
Yeah here is Romulan stronghold, I'll let you command 2 frigates, a destroyer and a cruiser. Good luck! On the hardest difficulty, their battlecruiser is replaced with dreadnaught and we lose our dreadnaught. I will being having another stab at it but it's the stuff of nightmares!
10:10 War with the Romulan Star Empire sounds like a very productive way to stop the endless Cold War. Gee, thanks Arai!
She didn't think that through. She admitted that an all out war with the Federation and Klingons would see the Romulan's 'probably lose'. I would say certainly lose, but splitting hairs!
1:40 Escalating to the Nebula. I’m surprised you only upgraded the shields and didn’t spring for Quantums or 2 extra Phasers
I wish I had an answer for you, I had plenty of prestige.
6:27 Good catch on getting that guy before he escaped.
I try to damage them all before destroying one as once they start dying they start running. Which is what the AI should do in general, but sadly only happens in this scripted mission.
I used to take the drone cruisers, set the drone racks to single shot and fire them individually. Once you get thru the first salvo keep hitting the fire button and you crap out a stream of drones that over load their defenses and gut them like a fish before they get into firing range. I really miss these games.
Ah, you must have enjoyed playing Mirak? That was a nice playstyle.
I’m surprised there aren’t Tricobalt Torpedoes, long reload times but great for heavy targets
If only there were more weapon options! The build diversity would be much improved.
6:30 Ohh… Poor friend-ship
Lots of work put in this session! Bases, planets, convoys, even some surprises. Farewell to Romulas as well. May asteroids in the neutral zone rest in peace rather than being scanned as a possible station activity.
Nice reference to the Romulan story there :) There will still be Romulans around, but their Empire is gone.
48:23 Took the planet by a Kobayashi Maru mission. Nice work
Always enjoy having more prestige!
41:31 Any idea what those Allied losses were?
Probably them flying into the planet. I like to think it was Romulan sabotage rather than cross eyed helmsmen.
23:05 I swear, these Cubes have better chances of Running You Over than actually piercing your shields
I could always enable their collision properties, but it's a bit much!
16:38 If that was all they had left for Home, they must’ve thrown the Kitchen Sink of Battlegroups at you a long time ago.
Yeah, they're down to just a handful of ships at this stage.
7:48 Shoutouts to that one Klingon who’s been in formation with you for a little while. Being involved in taking out multiple Starbases will be a huge honor for them.
0:08 “Planet Romulus”. By now, they’re probably regretting all of those Cold War Shenanigans and constantly violating the spirit of the treaty
That's not Romulus, it's a trick!
