This was helpful..thank you
Thank you so much I appreciate
Family photographer here. Absolutely beautiful space! Thank you so much for showing us the tour! Love your photos so much and larger wall photos, would you mind suggesting any printers? I wish I lived closer to GA, I'd be signing up for your workshop.
Hello! If I’m starting my client closet with these type of dresses, what size do you recommend I start with?
I had a shoot today with a 1 year old and a 5 year old that was a bit difficult. We ended up just walking and getting what photos we could. Baby sister was not having it with her brother and she cried half the session. I felt bad, but did what I could. I could tell mom probably walked holding her most of the day and she was very clingy to her mom, but mom didn't want to be in the photos and didn't dress appropriately which made it even more difficult.
Wich camera and lens do you use?
What are you using as your light to record this video looks amazing. I just found you. thank you for sharing your knowledge.
This was so helpful. Thank you 😃
Do you ever use any blanket warmers?
This was so helpful!! I never seem to wrap babies tight enough and got some tips to take into my next newborn session!!
Thank you for these videos! I just came across your channel, and it's so helpful! I'm curious, I tend to be an overshooter sometimes before moving onto the next pose just to unsure that I got some good ones. But I notice you move so quickly from one pose/prompt to another and you're shooting in live mode. It's impressive! What camera are you shooting on? Is the focus just super sharp on it even as you move at a faster pass? Thank you!!
Hey Erika! Thanks for watching! Great question! I feel like over the last few years I’ve gotten a better handle on my session flow and moving smoothly/quickly through prompts. I also switched to mirrorless (Canon r6) back in 2022 and it is a GAME CHANGER. I was never a screen shooter before but I absolutely love the way it is with this camera. The precision has been incredible and it nails focus so well in my opinion.
@@HelloJudePhotography thank you so much!! That's so helpful. I am going to look into this option.
Thank you so much for this content! Super helpful!! What lens do you usually use for your newborn sessions and what settings were most of these taken on (as far as aperture, ISO, and shutter speed)?
Hey McKenzie! I shoot with my 50mm 1.2 most of the time. In general my settings are at around 2.5 aperture, no less than 250 shutter speed and then ISO will vary the most depending on available lighy
Your videos are super helpful! I’d love to know your aperture for the group shots and typically what sort of shutter speed you use for these photos? Thank you!
Hey Jodi! In studio I typically stick around 2.5 for my aperture and my shutter speed is a minimum of 250 at all times.

Thank you from Belgium Europe
Thank you ❤ this was very helpful ❤❤

Hi Bailey, can you share where you get your little headbands?
I typically get them from different shops on Etsy! Amazon has some every now and then as well, but Etsy is my go-to site!
Super helpful and thank you. Can I get the link for the bean bag your using please if you don't mind.
Hey! Here is a link to my Amazon page. If you look under “studio must haves” you’ll see one! Check out this page from hellojudephotography www.amazon.com/shop/hellojudephotography?ref_=cm_sw_r_mwn_aipsfshop_aipsfhellojudephotography_NQHPRZE06DZ2R4YH54QJ&language=en_US
Hey from Uk! Thank you so much for your videos, they are wonderful and I’m going through every single one loving all of the insight and sharing. I do have one question about your blogging notes. What host are you using / recommend for blogging? Is it on the website itself or is it separate to the business website? Thank you so much x x x
Hey Abby! Thanks so much for watching! I host my blog through my WIX website and it is super user friendly!
@@HelloJudePhotography thank you so much! 🫶🏼 x
I am commenting just to support your channel, such a good content! Thank you❤
Thank you so much!!!
Hi there! Where do you get your long swaddles??
Hey Amanda! I use the ones in my Amazon storefront. You can see that link here: www.amazon.com/dp/B09Q387BD7/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_TW0G29NE56KNW1D1DKY6?linkCode=ml2&tag=hellojudephot-20
Love this ! Thank you for sharing... I'm in Woodstock with a very small space for 'studio' in my home. You got some beautiful images with natural light.. where did you get your low white bench from?
Hey! I actually ordered it from Walmart a few years back 🤯 I replaced the feet though to be a little more my style but it was super affordable!
In which month are the baby photos taken?
The best is month one. I generally love the 2-3 week mark best, but I've done as old as 6 months for "newborn" photos
Can you share what lens you are using and the focal length you are shooting?
Hey! I'm so sorry, I must have forgotten to include that in the video .This was all shot with my 50mm 1.2 and i generally stay around 2.5 for this size of a family
1. I think this is the most helpful video for me personally. I have watched so many "how to get started/set up" and this one is the most simplest one that doesnt make me feel overwhelmed. 2. The reminder of getting creative control with a contract even on free sessions is important. I have lost at least 4 copyright bc of not having a contract. This one is a challenge for me.
I'm so glad this video was helpful! Thanks for watching
Great video!
Hi, your lens was f1.2 and I was wondering what aperture was you using to make this photographs giving in mind it was a family of five?
Hey! I generally keep it around 2.5 for this type of session.
Can I buy your presets?
Hey! Thanks for asking! I'm working on possibly releasing some this summer!
Thank you!! This was the most helpful video about pricing. I feel like I get "attacked" all the time because my pricing is lower than others who live in the city or I'm not making 10K per session and I'm not upselling. My wedding prices start at 2,300 and go up to 5,000 in my three packages I offer. People in my area do not spend the same money someone in the city would. I DO include a gallery reveal for all my sessions, and we sit down and go over their gallery together. This gives me a chance to show photo albums from KISS and prints that they can feel and touch. I can close a deal with ladies because people want to know what they are getting and seeing it in person will make them not want to turn it down. But also from a faith base, I don't feel right charging thousands and thousands of dollars when my overhead is super low and it's secondary income. It's not a hobby, it's a career BUT I have the advantage of not charging a ton but getting more people booking. :)
Great Video .. Lacks Camera Settings....
Hey! What are the gifts that you give to maternity, newborn, 1-year clients, and Christmas clients? Would love the info! Thank you!
Hey! Great question! I'm going to do a full video on this soon with more details and ideas, but basically maternity I do some sort of affirmation cards, belly balm, face mask (something for MOM), Newborn is something timeless for baby- wooden rattle, knotted gown, etc. 1 Year I give a wooden toy camera and a Bible story book for kids, and Christmas is always an ornament of one photo from their session that year.
Hi! I stumbled upon your page a while back and have found it very helpful. I love your style and my dream is to have a studio like yours one day. My question today is how do you have clients pay? Do they pay for all the sessions upfront or do you have them pay when they book each individual session?
That's a great question. I think depending on how your pricing is set up that changes. If you are a session fee photographer (and then charge collections after session for deliverables) It would make sense to have an "enrollment fee" that they pay upfront for all the sessions. In my case, the investment is all inclusive and includes all deliverables. So I ask my clients to pay 50% of the total at booking. Then I divide the remaining total by the number of sessions (2 milestone sessions, or 3 milestone sessions). Does that make sense? A lot of my clients willingly pay in full at time of booking, but since it is a large sum of money I like to work with my clients on a payment plan if that is helpful!
That makes perfect sense. I like that you can collect some money to encourage them to not back out but you collect some when you do the session too so it doesn’t feel like you are working for “free” for those later sessions. 😅 Thanks for the input.
What camera are you shooting with
Hey! I am using the Canon r6 in all of my videos
What lens are you shooting with
Hey! I am using my 50mm 1.2 for these
It looked like dad loosened up at the end😊
Hi Jude! :) Do you mind linking the baby bean bag features in this video? Also, the baby blanket you use. Do you put the bean bag, then the blanket and then the sheet over the blanket? Just looking for clarification. :) Also, what studio lighting do you use? Thanks so much! :)
Do you suggest using flash? I have Godox V860
Really great and simple. Thank you!!
Do you use photoshop? What editing actions do you do there?
Great question. I use photoshop for finer tune edits when needed (face swaps, generative fill, finer tune brushing or clone stamping)
@@HelloJudePhotography I'm just learning editing, it would be interesting to learn more about your editing skills, especially babies)
The link to the items isn’t working
Thanks for letting me know! Here is the correct link: www.amazon.com/shop/hellojudephotography?ref=ac_inf_hm_vp
Would love to see a Dubsado tutorial!!
I've added that to my list for this new year!
Love your work how do you achieve this beautiful white
What was your siting please
Do you mean settings?
How you get this white when you editing I am struggling to get white look
I think having your white balance just right is super helpful to start. Some days I can get away with auto, but others I need to switch it over to Kelvin. Also having a reflector available (I have the homemade V flat) to bounce light and fill in the shadows is another great source of help. Thirdly if all else fails, using the masking tool in Lightroom can give an extra boost if needed.
Thank you 😊 I only use ps , and I see my white balance with the subject is good but not for the background 😢
Beautiful large window for great natural light shots!! Informative video. Just would like to know your camera settings, ISO, Shutter speed, Aperture, lens used, etc.
Question! Do you ask your clients if it’s okay to share on your socials before hand? I feel strange sharing their images with all of my followers before sending it to them. Right now I wait until the gallery is delivered before posting any, but it would be much more beneficial to do it beforehand! curious on your thoughts about this!
Great question! All of my clients sign model releases with a clause in their contract about social sharing freedom. As far as timing goes though, I think it really depends on clients personalities. There have been some sessions where I can sense some insecurities in the mom, or hesitation and so in those instances I always share with them first.
Amazing Video. Amazing studio. Such an inspiration. I have just chosen to go all in with white on white studio. Than you for this amazing video :) Can I please ask, roughly how many images do you have in your final gallery from a shoot like this
Hey! It really depends on a few factors (baby's cooperation, any siblings or grandparents involved, etc.) Newborn sessions I guarantee 50 images but majority of the time I am delivering between 80-120 (including a few black and whites in there).
@@HelloJudePhotography Thank you
Do you have any suggestions for studio lighting or are you only talking about natural lighting?
Hey! So I operate 99% of the time with just studio lighting. There are a few unique instances (in-home sessions mainly) where I might need to add some additional light source. In that case I either use a soft box or flash (depending on room size).
Do you choose one social media platform to share your giveaways or share to multiple? I use both FB and IG.
That one is simple for me because I only have instagram. I also share on my email list but direct them to instagram to enter. You could definitely do both places, or do one giveaway specifically for IG and one for FB!
