Hi! I stumbled upon your page a while back and have found it very helpful. I love your style and my dream is to have a studio like yours one day. My question today is how do you have clients pay? Do they pay for all the sessions upfront or do you have them pay when they book each individual session?

That's a great question. I think depending on how your pricing is set up that changes. If you are a session fee photographer (and then charge collections after session for deliverables) It would make sense to have an "enrollment fee" that they pay upfront for all the sessions. In my case, the investment is all inclusive and includes all deliverables. So I ask my clients to pay 50% of the total at booking. Then I divide the remaining total by the number of sessions (2 milestone sessions, or 3 milestone sessions). Does that make sense? A lot of my clients willingly pay in full at time of booking, but since it is a large sum of money I like to work with my clients on a payment plan if that is helpful!

That makes perfect sense. I like that you can collect some money to encourage them to not back out but you collect some when you do the session too so it doesn’t feel like you are working for “free” for those later sessions. 😅 Thanks for the input.
