    その頃よく聞いていた日本のラジオ、オールナイトニッポンでながれた好きになったこの曲。歌の意味さえわからずに、レコード店で500円で買った思い出は忘れない。

I lost my brother few days ago. He has had a tough life and suffered alot. He finally is at peace... It seems to me this song could have been written for him. I love you my sunny.

I'd like to know who composed the orchestration... anybody know? It's a masterpiece. The bass sometimes is the same as the electric organ, at other times it keeps the hook going while the organ veers off on its own. But... neither the bass or the electric organ keeps the hook going all the way through the song. The result is a nagging suspicion of a hook that comes and goes exactly like the emotional suspicion the song speaks of.

The minimalist electric organ (it's not a horn) is the musical equivalent of suspicion in the song

I used to have a huge crush on a girl named Sunny when I was growing up. We went to school together through junior high, but then went to different high schools. I played basketball for my school's freshman team and she was a cheerleader at a rival school. After we played against her school she found my number in the phone book and called to ask me out. But I was shy and not confident in myself and we never ended up going out. Now, I can't believe I blew my chance and always think what could have been!

As Spanish I am a little confused: Lynn Anderson catapulted the song but the writer is Joe South. In my country musical group Duncan Dhu made a Spanish version who was very popular. Perhaps somebody consider me rude or a person who underestimate Anderson's voice but I rather this version. I find her version "commercial " and "more sweet" and I understand the message is "be optimistic when your way is hard". Hope people understand it is my personal opinion. Very talented Joe South.
