In my region the osmocort that's the cheapest is for fruits and vegetables. Will it work?
It should work, but make sure to check the nutrients that it gives. Some might not contain any trace elements. Technically, the Osmocote I'm using is also for flowers and garden use.
Can I do 4 hours on morning and 4 hours in evening because more than 4 hours my water temperature goes 28,30 degree because of light
That should be fine! Lots of people do this, and it's called "Siesta Lighting" schedule. However, the average lighting break is usually 2-3 hours. It's a little unheard of to hear that the lighting system can raise water to those temperatures. Does the temp change at all if you were to raise the height of the light, if it's possible? If water temp goes down by like 1 or 2 degrees, then the light isn't the issue, and it could either be a heater (if using one), ambient room temperature, or something else.
Great info ℹ️ thanks for sharing
Good video but more plants the better for your fish and tank.
I agree, but it depends on a few variables. One of them being the types of plants in the tank. A tank full of anubias isn't gonna do much compared to a tank full of Hygrophila Polysperma. Growth speed definitely plays a part on nutrient uptake. Either way, all it really comes down to is balance.
what should i do if not only my plants are pearling, but fuzz and hair algae too?
Not much you can really do... Algae are plants that also undergo photosynthesis. The only real thing you can do is to do everything you can to remove and control the algae. I've got a few videos on those topics on my channel!
Agreed on the point about circulation. Was injecting CO2 and only some plants were pearling until I adjusted the flow.
I actually got some of my plants to pearl without a co2 injection
Needed info on light sizing to tank and couldn't find any. Ordered light. Video pops up. Now i have to return the light 🤦🤦
Lmao, it happens.
I use bladder snails to keep the surface film away. No bobbles or pumps needed
You must have a ton of bladder snails for that! I've never had any of mine in the past able to keep the surface clean, similar to using a surface skimmer. I've seen them float and "surf" the surface, but they were never effective in removing any surface film
Hey, I found your channel through a VidIQ thumbnail review livestream yesterday and both your thumbnail and overall editing are incredible! I also learned some new things too! Keep going and great job :)
Cool!
Using occasionally doesn't do any damage. It must be used when black algae just starts
I think you're missing the point of the video. The main idea I wanted to express was that H2O2 does not solve the underlying cause of algae. Yes, it will kill BBA and is fine to use occasionally, but it won't do much in the long run if the main cause is not fixed.
@@TropiscapeAquatics yes true. But after using that we need to take corrective actions and try balancing tank
@@sangamp6292 💯
Hi, do you start counting the drops only after the first drop?
The first drop is 1 degree. It's a little tough to understand if it's either 1 or 0 if it does change colour... This is probably the limitation of the test kit...
Awesome video. Extra delicate is hilarious
I have a friend who has rainbow sharks that actually eat this LJ !!!!!
Time to take out the big guns!
thats the most chinese junk brand name ive seen lol
It do be like that, but this one has a little bit of promise in it. That's if they make the right choices or not with the product
Hey great video! What is the site/app used to show the plants?
It's Tropica’s catalog! tropica.com/en/plants/
Immediate thumb up for the pineapple on pizza take. My wife & many friends love that sh, and I truly don't get it.
Very nice content bro ! Where you get this chart of plants @2.55 minute !?
Ah, that's something I made in Notion. It's basically a glorified spreadsheet. I might be able to make a Notion template for it in the future if there's any demand for it
It would be nice if you share it… it would definitely of great help 🙂
Undergravel as the worst, you're funny, lmao.
Hello i have a heavily planted tank 20 gallons with soil substrate capped with sand. I use sponge filter. I need flow, oxygen isnt reaching deep parts of the tank down, i have some tetras and shrimps smaller ones, they are struggling against the flow of a hang on back filter..i need flow in the tank without cannister filter how do i achieve that ? Thanks.
I believe there are cheap power heads or wave makers that would help with flow.
@@TropiscapeAquatics I have checked and all of them are strong, I got a flow adjustable HOB filter again, only problem is cloudy water and debris everywhere, I do have sand substrate with some detritus for the plants lol

@@StoopidMonkey08 Nothing like some good ol' fine filter media will do the trick!
I enjoyed that presentation!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Destilled water doesn't have a ph of 7, due to atmospheric co2 which diffuses in that open bucket. This happenes because there is no KH.
To get more into the science stuff, it'll probably never truly have a stable pH of 7. As you've said, there's no buffering agent in the water, so any contamination from anything, such as the bucket, could though off its pH to some extent
Is that some DJ Cutman I hear? Good video!
Nope, it's just regular Zelda music! 😉
Awesome video! Short sweet and to the point. I love it!
🙏PIE! Top edit as always! Your sound effects game is next level! Your tanks looking pretty solid near the end as well.
It's not super perfect (thanks cladophora lol), but I also think it's almost at its best!
@@TropiscapeAquatics Oddly I had a big clump of clado in my tank on one particular rock and i added 2 hillstream loaches and they smashed it. It wasn't even something I thought they touched.
@@IndoorEcosystem Interesting! I thought the same as well!
I am still amazed with your content... Top level Justin!!! Great vid with awesome graphics
Super appreciate that!!! 😊
❤❤ good edit
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man I cant understand a dam thing you are saying... Why the hell are you talking so fast? I only made it 42 seconds into this video and stopped...
I have a hood on my aquarium so what do you think about a submersible LED light? It's from Seaqura And it's seven watts. It has a timer and adjustable brightness. It has three color settings... White green red and blue, white, red and green or just blue. I do have low light plants and they list the ones that I have. It has suction cups so I can supposedly attach it underneath my hood also. What are your thoughts?
That is what I did with my Fluval Flex, but with a different submersible light ( video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/n398m7CJc83MoNY.html ). Considering that you are only growing low-light plants, it should be fine to use as long as every plant gets enough light. Make sure to have a drip loop in the cable, as there is a more likely chance that water can drip down the cable due to any water splashes and evaporation. I can't say how well that light can perform as I've never had my hands on it before, so make sure you have a look at any reviews before purchasing, especially any reviews that pertain to plant growth/health.
Genius!
i tried the red root floaters (got some from my neighbor) and they just would NOT get red. green only.
Yeah, that is my experience as well. It most likely comes down to genetics of the RRF's. That or the light I was using was not producing enough red light. I explain a bit more in detail in this video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/d4uBsadrhqmtp7Q.html
this was an amazing speedrun on lights and specs. like WOAH. you kept a fast pace and barely took a breath. all great stuff for anyone to know!!
All in the powers of editing 😉 I usually try to make sure that things are decently fast and sound connected when it comes to voiceovers.
Bro.....thank you so so so much.....i didn't know what was going on with my plants i gave proper lighting gave proper good substrate but still my plants kept dying....i finally figured thanks to you that it is ammonia burn....will fix it soon
Glad I could help and good luck! 😊
Excellent ❤
I wrote my comment without seeing the Zelda sword lmao I knew I seen that font breath of the wild
😉
Is that Zelda font
These same spectrums are in us as well... Everything made of atoms... That's why we use rings, color stones in astrology etc Anyways the main base of creation is the apung vibrantions called Aaauuummmmmmmm
so, i have, green spot, filamentous, staghorn, and Cyano... solution i see: reset the tank 😭 or... just keep trying also, very helpfull video <3 nice edition
Restarting a tank will have its pros and cons. Objectively, you will need to know how to balance a tank if you want to stay clear of algae. This video here explains all about that: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mJ1rw6WciZO5gpM.html This next video I'll link goes over the how to really tackle algae. I also go over if it's worth restarting a tank as well. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iJOKqbhqlMuuj9o.html The combination of both these two videos should give you an understanding on algae issues and what's needed for success. I still recommend watching these two videos if you do plan to restart. The reason is that you may still end up running into the same situation that you have if you don't know how to prevent it and fix the wrongs.
Is this for aquariums only? Can I use it to test drinkable water streams in the mountains?
Should be perfectly fine to do so! However, I would contact API for confirmation, especially if you plan on drinking the water you're testing
@@TropiscapeAquatics Thanks, I'll do that, the water is drinkable I just need to do a test to see how good it is. Thank you once again
Informative and attention grabbing, love the references!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thank you I've been battling this alge for a while now and I'm so tired of it💀
Glad it helped! Good luck with the cladophora war!
Mine always melt it’s the only plant that won’t grow in my tank the bottom of my tank is garden soul, sand, crushed black gravel
There's a chance that the roots aren't reaching the soil and getting any nutrients. If this plant is too difficult, you can try Monte Carlo or regular baby tears, a.k.a Pearlweed. The latter is the easiest one
My aquarium has tap water in but my GH is 230ppm. If i add RO water or Distilled water do i still need to add minerals or not?
If your goal is to decrease GH, then no. You don't need to remineralize. However, if your KH is not to your liking, there are remineralizers that only add KH and not GH.
@@TropiscapeAquatics Thanks for the quick reply. If I continue to use RO or Distilled instead of the tap water I'm guessing I would then need to add minerals as the RO or Distilled water would eventually cancel out the tap water, which would mean there would be no minerals in the water at all?
You can mix RO/DI with your tap water. You can try a 50:50 split ratio and then test for GH/KH and see if they're to your liking. If not, you can adjust the ratio. You can keep doing water changes with this water mix, and eventually it will the GH/KH levels will be the same as the mix, if that makes sense. I used to mix RO/DI with tap water in a 50:50 ratio
@@TropiscapeAquatics Thanks. Yeah I'll try mixing until I get the desired GH I am after.
