Hey my name is Chris and I watch your videos on the K-series Kohler's and instead of replacing the whole carb why not just put it in an ultrasonic machine for carbs and or just clean up the points and condenser, cause me myself I like to keep everything original from when it was built. Cause you can almost always get kits and carb gaskets from online or a Kohler dealer.
Thanks much for your video. I have to change two new rear tires 23 x 10.5 -12 inch and do have a small tire changes which I have never used because had no way to secure it, but your application has solved that problem for me. Again thanks.
Just found this. I want to change a 12" tractor tire and wasn't sure the tool could handle it. Now I know. I've changes smaller tires 10" rim with no issues. Love the tool and of course price, had it for a few years. Now I can start on the 12" rims, save money and drop off time. THANK YOU.
Where is the starter motor fuse located?
Beautifully Done.
I plan to rebuild my Deere 60" Deck over the Winter. This video is bookmarked and will be studied. Thanks for posting it.
Is that the same 46" deck that is on a John Deere 180 ? Late 80s early 90s ?
Looks very similar !
Hey Norman! All is Well in the Kohler universe that Engine has the proper set of controls onboard again! Cheers! Nothing wrong with points the trouble is the condenser that evil wire is always escaping the boot never had issue with points!
I’ve got a Koehler 141 engine I broke the governor pin. Could you do a video please or show one and I can get it re-welded together if possible thank you
Thank you so much Norman!
If the carb works, keep it. Use it. A good working old carb will always be better than new junk. Don’t just replace it because 🤷🏼♂️
Fascinating tractor and excellent video. Does the rear axel(s)/wheels behave as a slip differential or are they capable of being locked as is a locking differential ?
I have a d/r 1011699 starter generator I’m working on I opened it up the brushes had crumbled a small black wire is laying loose I don’t know where it connects it’s hard to get a close up of your video any ideas? I ordered a rebuild kit from your company it hasn’t came yet thank you, Rob S.
I could use some help identifying my new to me wheel horse with kohler motor then I can buy some parts for your site!!
Fuckin awesome channel and website man thank you
I built the same fel/backhoe, but from a cub cadet 129. The 12hp kohler k301a is no slouch. It did everything i asked of it. You don't have to have a 149 or 169.
Have you considered changing the name of your website to IChargeTooMuch?
my k321 will not run if the points are more then .004 . it runs backwards anything wider
I was just given a 1970(?) Wheel Horse Electro (hydro drive) with a 12hp Kohler that my 100 year old (WWII) neighbor owned. He passed away earlier this year. It's in pretty rough shape, but I hope to get it going. In my experience with small engines.. It's likely the carb! Thanks for the video.
This guy knows nothing about anything
how do you bleed steering cylinder on 400 JD
One question on the key what is necessary to make the mower start?
Can those engines also be converted to electronic ignition?
Hi there Norm, Norm I am working on my 82 Ff24 Craftsman Tractor, I need some help I was rebuilding my tractor and rebuilt everything but some were I lost my front mounted PTO that gets connected to my elect clutch by belt, I do not know if someone took it or just where it is but its not with me anymore, Do you know any place that might have this part ? Also, where can I get a owner's manual for this 82 Ff 24 tractor. Love your video's that you put out there, Big Thanks...
I just picked up a cub cadet 1650 with a kohler. When i went to look at it. The guy was explaining some of the work he's done recently. And he said he did a head gasket on it and got parts from you. I chuckled and siad i love Norman from i save tractors.
Interesting flail mower. I have a similar flail behind my Ford 1320. One problem my Mott Flail has the pulleys and belt on the opposite side. Any idea what belt this machine needs? thanks
A good rule of thumb,is to only fill the tire to the top of the rim.
Any advice where to get an onan motor for an Ingersoll 4016
WHY can't people JUST GET TO THE POINT???? Just a GREAT tutorial on wire strippers.
Hi Norman, counting the lands on the balance gear you say to mark the 7'th land, but in the video you tap your pen six times on the balance gear and mark the 6th land, not the 7'th?
I seriously thought that was Mur from impractical jokers and I was getting messed with ....lol...
Have you updated the carburetors as you indicated in the video. I have both a 682 and a 1710 Cub Cadet tractor that have the KT17 Series 2 engines Do you prefer the thicker or thin carburetor gaskets between the intake tube and carburetor and elbow assembly? Just curious.
Yes we have! For the Magnum twins I use the thing gaskets
@@Isavetractors The 682 Cub Cadet that I am currently working on has one of the aftermarket carburetors that bolted up very nicely with the exception that the choke tab is turned totally wrong for the existing choke cable to work. Also, the actual hole in the throttle tab had to be drilled out to allow the Kohler linkage bushing to fit. The Walbro replacement carburetor bowl gasket that I was trying to use will not stay in place long enough to attempt to install the larger gasket that fits around the float or else I would have re-used the Walbro carburetor rather than going with an aftermarket carburetor. I removed the engine tins on both sides of the engine to clean out the trapped debris and crud which was horrible. I am totally surprised that the engine didn’t fry itself long ago.
Hi. I bought a JD 400 in August and it was recovered with a Honda Performance 670 but I don't have deck.A 60 in. Decks hard to find so I'm gonna rig up one of my own to cut grass. Maybe a 3pt finish deck. Thanks
Hey is the stuff on your website still for sale
Yes. Still doing strong business
Where ya been
You would not happen to know what the part number is for that front driveshaft with the quick lock mechanism would you? I have the same deck and have jury-rigged that female spline end onto the PTO spline because the quick lock has broken. Thanx, great stuff.
Hey Norman, that’s a great video on the John Deere 400. I just picked up a Deutz Allis 1920 which you probably know is the same as a simplicity SunStar 20. I begin restoring it and quickly found out that it has a lot of the same parts as the John Deere 300 and 400 series tractors of the same vintage. It would be great if you could do a video that compared the John Deere and the simplicity tractors of that size. Keep up the great work thanks
Do you not check and inspect the ACR mechanism on the camshaft during overhaul?
I stumbled across your video and noticed Bracket machine I to am from Maine it really is a small world
I have a 520 H that needs a drive belt they sent me an 83 inch but it seems like it’s short any recommendations for a cutting deck belt for a 520 H with a 48 inch deck
Just picked one of these up. How do I adjust the hydros to pick the plow up higher?
Wheres that hole on tthe tractor itself, never showed where it was, just picked up a Jacobsen 1200, will not fire at all, cranks and backfires even after a lil fuel in plug hole.....
Can I ask what fluid you use in the loader? Hydraulic fluid or ATF ? Also is the large nut on top of control area the fill and fill to the screw on the rectangular tube? Thanks in advance..
What is the spec on the belt tension arm stop plate on deck?
Good video but I certainly wouldn't replace a known good working OEM carb with aftermarket. Maybe just a good cleaning and an OEM carb kit.
I have one of these setup for mowing, without a cab. 6' wide mower deck. Kubota diesel engine. Paid $3k for it. It's frickin awesome. I used these when I worked on a golf course as a kid and decided this was the perfect machine to mow 1 1/2 acres of grass. Way better than a zero turn unless you have small tight spaces. Would be cool to get a snowblower or other attachments for it. Getting hard to find now.
Yall need to make one that has the bushing in the end.. that i dont know how to replace.
Thanks for doing what you do. I own a Cub Cadet 147, and your company is a great resource.
