Awesome Plate Carrier. I am currently running an Agilite PC, which is great, but I am willing to upgrade to CP AVS, which is exactly like your setup. Could you please describe the configuration? I just want to copy and paste it on the CP website to avoid any mistakes. Thank you and looking forward. Andre

So does that mean a single hallway problem only has one door in a hall to the left or right side? Or multiple just to the left or right side? And a double hallway problem means there’s only 2 opposing doors whether it be closed or open? But a complex hall is also another name for two doors opposing each other? I’m confused on the halls So then what would you call a hall way with multiple doors opposing each other all the way down the hallway? Like an apartment building I’m so lost

Also, Orion. So that L shaped hallway you were discussing at the beginning of your hallway speech Does that mean it’s a T-shaped hallway way or an L-shaped hallway with near threat? Bc you said the shape the hallway actually makes is an L-shape

Would really like to understand how to handle closure arm doors better. Really interested to see how it affects the clearing of a room and what needs to be done differently

  • @oriontraininggroupllc2782

The automatic closing function can be defeated in a lot of ways, but it definitely changes some things. The most common methods are just wedging it open with a fireman's wedge, or a piece of wood on a J shaped hook that hangs on the hinge. Other than disabling the closure arm prior to the breach, that's usually what people use. The other methods to deal with the door closing are essentially just using speed to get two people in to the room before it closes (dynamic entry, etc). and have the 3rd and 4th man deal with the door, or have the breacher pin the door with his foot and hold it for the entry team.

Amazon backpack: TQ, gear pouch with odds and ends, battery pack, dude wipes, wera tool check plus, home made first aid kit/meds. Maybe a gaming laptop with controllers/headset

I saw some Swedish undercover cops do a bust the other week and they wore blue construction work pants with a grey hoodie I immediately thought to myself, "damn that's actually pretty awesome" Construction workers are literally grey men in any area, they always go unnoticed even though they might walk with a high-vis jacket on top Unfortunately, I work in a white-collar job, so I can't really be wearing construction pants day-to-day, but I'll be starting to use them more often on weekends and they will of course be my first choice in a SHTF situation

Adult males of physical strength will NEVER be seen as Inconspicuous. If noticed by hostiles that are otherwise unoccupied they will be targeted or observed for the perceived gain from their defeat. Strength of Force with a group of 4 with 6 being ideal presents a greater deterrence. Stealth amongst populations is achievable until hostilities occur.

How about mixing center check with crisscross so the number 1 is getting traped on the other side alone. So basicly crisscross but more dynamic.

For 2+ guys, would it be fair to say that 'running the rabbit' is better for corner-fed doors while 'pushing the threat' is often more appropriate for center-fed doors? From my understanding, 'running the rabbit' seems to direct our attention more towards one side of the room, which is why it's beneficial for corner-fed rooms. Using 'push the threat' in center-fed rooms could potentially divert the enemy's attention while allowing greater coverage of both sides of the room during entry. I'm curious to hear other people's thoughts.

Granted, I've never seen combat in a professional setting as I have zero military experience, but when I train just kind of check my gear as I pack it before heading to the range and then again before putting everything on. I'll often I'll pack extra for others and maybe some food if we are training for the whole day Whenever I'm just roaming about I check my concealed carry with a field strip, maybe add some lube if needed and then load and press check. Good idea on feeling the top round instead of doing a press check or checking the bolt. Id never thought of that and will definitely be incorporating that into my system. I appreciate the video as I feel it had a lot of educational value.

46:48 I'll be 66 in July. The advantage is people underrated you and feel cocky. I have a torn tendon in my right arm and the VA wants to operate on my neck and lower back. So physically Im a train wreck. I was always a "prepper" long before it was called that. When you were a survivalist. When attitude eas everything. You can be prepped for everything but if your mind is not there you might just be a storage shed for those who are. I aways tell the younger guys that if your not willing to do what Rambo did in the first movie than your not really a survivalist. Suprise is your best weapon often. Stay quite and wait for that moment. Than have twice the anger and twice the savagery your opponent has and give no mercy. When i was starting in the military😅 a old sgt. Told me..." Age and treachory will often trump youth and enthusiasm" there is nothing "FAIR" and no rules in war. Thats why is its called survival and not competing. To make a short story longer. Once you commit to a making your move it has to be brutal. In my case all red zone shots. I had a situation a few months back that made me realize how lucky but out of shape i was.but i realized i cant really defend myself anymore much less my family. My daughter gave me a 11 month old 80lb razor egde pit. Who is totally loyal but kills my arms when i walk him. But i can now again walk at least a mile a day. To make up for my bad back and arm i carry a wood cane since no one will question it no matter where you go and a can of good mace gel. Than convince yourself your only good for 3 shots. Either a fist downward strike down than upward palm to the nose. A throat punch or im my case since the guy was smart enough to get right in my face...rake his shin than stomp the shit out of the top of his foot. Once i backed away...kick his nuts up to his nose. I could have continued with my cane but i caught site of my grand daughter and the fear in her eyes so we backed away. We were lucky but believe me when reality comes knocking its all over but the crying..just make sure its the other guys. On as side note...when we get older our minds often still think like we are in our prime..but like i learned once you get over the jitters that anger you stored inside comes out even if just for 3 moves...dont waste it. Be a beast one last time. PS my crouch hurt for 3 days from kicking so high....LOL

I found that Blackhawk! (yeah them) has a slick carrier that works well for low vis and I think I picked up a few for $35 bucks. Good stitching, bartack stitching. My old Beez Combat Systems slick PC did the job back in the day and it's still 110% serviceable and coyote tan back when coyote tan was a color, which I don't care about because it was worn under a loose-fitting button-down or polo shirt . If I need mags, I use a bank robber chest rig, 5 x M4 mags (IIRC), and a super slimmed-down gsw kit.

I don’t believe that there is such a thing as “correct” or “incorrect” particularly in a fluid situation, where complete information is lacking and certain variables cannot be anticipated. Having proficiency in many different areas and the mental acuity to choose the best approach for each situation as it arises is far better than perfecting a single approach and attempting to “force” something to happen. I often see people who almost exclusively focus on their physical attributes and capabilities without stopping to consider that we need our brain for literally everything we do! Even autonomic processes are controlled by our brain, just not consciously. You can be built like an ox, but if you possess the same level of intelligence as said ox, you’re going to have a short career.

The flip side of being alert is that if you overdo it you stand out. Easiest way to spot people who carry a gun for a living is to look for who is swiveling their necks. Good surveilance starts with paying attention without looking like youre paying attention.
