Patrol Formation Basics: React to Contact

Ойындар

This video is a follow up to Patrol Formation Basics. If you haven’t watched that video, go check it out first.
As usual, this video is just dipping your toe in the water of small unit tactics, and really only covers breaking contact and peeling away. That is intentional. Additionally the terms, formations, etc. are streamlined for the first video, and DO NOT reflect a complete curriculum (it’s 20 min on KZread guys, not a real class).
For more information on these types of tactics, you need to out to take courses. I honestly don’t know of anyone else in America teaching SUT to civilians, much less in the private sector. Blake Flannery heads up that program for us, with the main offerings being Small Unit Maneuvers(3 day), Small Unit Sustainment(5 day), and Fire and Maneuver (live fire, 4 day).

The content is great, needs more comments and views. One for the algorithm. Great content for anyone is a group of size to learn and practice.

The 3 D’s should always be Direction, Distance, and then Description. If the goal is to orient your focus to a certain ‘thing’, Direction is the most important by far. If you’re reacting to contact you run the risk of being washed out by the ensuing chaos. You might have a second to speak. Direction first.

Great video! Takes me back to BCT days. Always went off the Ranger book and the old 60s/70s mil issue books as well as I still have my soldier's handbook from the early 00's.

I have always wondered why people very rarely mention smoke. I know recently it just became alot harder for people to own smoke grenades but I have aleays wondered the efficacy of using smoke.

I remember using smoke as a kid for airsoft and it was not only super fun but also seemed to be effective, not just for retreats but for also closing in on the enemy. I would love a video on the doctrine of using smoke.

Most of those MoH sprints on react to contact are an after effect of overgrown elements. Almost like platoons are made of squads and squads are made of firetams for a reason.

Great hands on information for civvies ...I really feel when SHTF we are going to have members of military and law enforcrment who are constitutional patriots. I'd like to think not all will be mindless lemmings out to enforce liberal progressive and wokist agendas. They have training that we need to be able to support and enter seamlessly. God bless ya"ll and keep that powder dry!
