    now im actually taking steps to become an game dev, but for the longest time, im talking for years before i truly jumped into game dev i watched dev logs just because as someone who aspired to develop games for the longest time it was really cool to see peoples processes and seeing these average people all by themselves make genuienly really fun and worthwhile games was super cool. i think the first game dev youtuber i watched was dani, because hes like basically the gateway dev log channel.

    "While 4 years may seem like a lot" The funniest part, is that when it comes to game dev, it really isn't, no offense of course, it's just that many of our favorite devs were developing games for decades before they found success. It's funny how something that feels as big as 4 years is actually nothing when it comes to stuff like game development.

  • @costelinha1867
    @costelinha18677 күн бұрын

    Wait... there's a Celeste playthrough playlist with the actual dev team? I mean, sure they made a live playing Strawberry Jam once, but I am not aware of any of this. Also even your first game that never got finished looks so much better than anything I ever made, it's kinda... upsetting, but also really cool in a way... It's also kinda hard because I don't HAVE a dream game.... so I dunno what I'm aiming to build, I just wanted to build something that is slightly more impressive and finished than a game jam project. (Preferably something I could actually sell so I could stop working for free for once...)

    @@OandCoGames Oh talk about it, at least I made a nice jam game recently, first time working on a team, and it even got 39th place over a thousand entries overall. It's genuinely a good game despite being buggy as hell, I just wish I could make something a bit more involved, although honestly, a lot of it is probably self-esteem issues, it's really hard to believe you CAN do it, even when you clearly have no other option.

    take off the fanboy glasses :/ this video is gushingly positive to the point that it's meaningless. wow it has text telling you you can jump higher... unfortunately there's not a single puzzle that justifies why the game even has a jump button

    yeah I think that if it focused more on the negative aspect then it would be more interesting. obv it should still have the positive aspect but just not as the main focus as for the jump button, uh there most likely will involve the jump button in a puzzle. also it's a good example of the 'broad audience' thing and just mentioning that there is a prompt telling you that you can jump is very much not the reason it was brought up.
