Welcome to the Stoney Family!
I’m a novice Gold Prospector from Washington state and I love finding gold here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Most of my videos are from my own front/backyard where I have my own gold producing creek!
New videos drop most every Friday at 5pm PST. You’ll also catch me on Live Streams prospecting, so don’t be shy and come hang out!
Additionally, if something breaks, I need to fix it! Having said that, you can find me occasionally producing some DIY/Repair content. I love saving a buck here and there and want to pass my knowledge to you! I know you can do it and I want you to spend your hard earned money on hobbies, not repair bills!

hey brother, camping over the weekend, heavy pans
Hey Danny! Heavy Pans brother! Have a great time camping!
The gutter you showed not very high can be cleaned easily from ground what about 2 story or 3 story
Heh Mohammed. As you saw in the video, the first gutter is pretty low and easy to clean. I do show a 2 story gutter but my tool is pretty flimsy, so if you had a more sturdy set up, it would work pretty good. Hope this helps and thank you :)
Missed your live bro was late here for me , we're having pretty much the same weather , is weird for june going into july , i agree with the classification your doing , if you think there may be larger pieces there then classify for that , the only crime Stoney is committing is he's not feeding that monster sluice fast enough 🤣 , Mo will keep you on your toes lol , you said you were doing a live today so i best go find it , thanks for sharing bro.
Hey Scotland and no worries for missing it. I know it was late for you and it was last minute anyway… just felt like going online. And I may or may not go live today. All depends how I’m feeling. Thanks for the support my dude! I hope you are having a fantastic lovely Sunday :)
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser nice pile of gold so far and only halfway into the season, your doing great bro keep it up.
Sorry you are getting rain, I do not miss it at all. In the 90”s all week woo hoo 😅
I know! I need summer! Come On!!!
I had a rough at the creek Saturday too but hers a question what about that air classifier that you made? and what about a self feeding sluice I there’s a few places by me that no motorized equipment elect or gas. So I’m trying to figure out a gravity feed hopper for my sluice
Hey Adrien! Sorry you had a rough day, but it’s all how you look at it. That rough day gave you info for the next time. As for your other question, my classifier is deemed illegal for use in Washington because it does use a motor/compressor. But I have seen sluices that have classifiers built on top where people just shovel in the material. I know of a few methods with the best being just having. Sluice mat that can handle unclassified material. The vortex or dredge mat from dream mat can allow just that. You can also install grizzly bars the whole way across your sluice where the small stuff washes through and the big stuff washed off the top back into the river. There really is a lot of options out there :)
Sorry I missed you this evening Stoney. Went out the other day and got around 0.080 of a gram. Pretty small micro colors🤷🏻♂️ Good luck on kicking that tobacco habit. That stuff will kill ya. Challenge yourself Stoney and you will be more happy seeing your accomplishments. I did that last year with drinking and haven’t looked back.
.08 ain’t bad Bob! And no worries for missing the live, I was out of town for a while and needed some gold therapy yesterday, so everything was last minute and not planned. Oh and thanks for the well wishes. It’s tough but I’m doing well. It’s a necessary thing I need to do :)
Nice work! The floating gold gets me every time too!
Rosco! I know right! Hey thanks for coming by and watching this for a little bit. It was last minute so not really exciting but appreciate your support nonetheless! Take care my friend and I’ll see you around!
watching now sorry i missed the live. had a privet live from a friend. thanks for the share! stay awesome!
Absolute no worries Ramses! I hope you are doing well and thanks for coming by!
Missed it bro! Under the weather here... great stuff!
I hope you feel better Pa! Sucks that you are not feeling well! I wish you a speedy recovery my friend :)
nice
Thank you my friend! I hope your enjoying this lovely weekend :)
Good deal brother
Thank you Rich! I really appreciate you coming by. Happy 4th of I don’t see you before then!
and yeah, you gonna get wet, "Jeff Williams"
Undoubtedly every time Danny! Thanks brother!
Absolutley awesome video nice to meet u sent here by Ohio River History just subbed to u
Thanks Duke City Crew! Welcome to the channel and I’m so happy you are here! Huge thanks to Ohio River History! Let’s go!
Nice DIY! Good job.
Thanks Bob! I appreciate that :) I hope you are doing well :)
Great step by step video bro!
Thanks dude! I hope you’re doing well :)
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser doing fair had my top wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. So just relaxing for a few days..
Hope all is well your way!
@Rockbottomadventurez oh man!!! I know the feeling. I just cracked a tooth, so it’s been killing me
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser hate to hear that brother man. Get it taken care of cause itll only get worse.
I've a question - why tier the fence instead of having it flow with the land? If we can make sloped railing for stairs, surely we can make sloped panels for our yards? Besides it being more labor intensive, is there a reason why this isn't done? I'm completely ignorant in fence building and am just trying to understand.
Great question and it really comes down to personal preference. You can most definitely slope the fence and have it follow with the land but a lot of people tend to do tiered or stepped fence systems because the fence material itself sits parallel and looks better to the eye then having it follow the contour of the land. But like I said, there is no wrong way :) thank you so much for the question and I hope you are having a great day :)
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser Thank you for the speedy and helpful reply! I did a little more searching and found that it's of course already a thing, a "slop fence," and we'll be going with that.
@make_it_aesthetic nice! Good luck! I’m sure it’ll turn out just great :)
Thank you so much
You got it Justin! Thanks for the support my friend!
Gold panning drums should always be repaired, whether they are from Samsung or Miele. Just kidding, pal 😆🍻
Hahhaa Peter! Thank you my friend. And yes, no matter what breaks, fix it and get back to panning :)
A lot of effort for little views
Morning Mo! I really hope you’re doing well today :) As for your comment, yea, it may seem that way but it’s completely fine with me. I’d rather put the effort in and have just one person find it useful, than do it without recording and it only benefit me. I’ve done a pretty good amount of repair videos on different household appliances and to be honest, they always outperform my gold videos by leaps and bounds. Having said that, I should probably focus on fixing things and leave the prospecting to the professionals 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Much respect Mo! 🫡 🇦🇺
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser Apologies - I thought you're Gold Videos were doing much better. I got it arsed about. Best I start saying what I wished to say directly in future. I meant to say I much prefer your gold videos. But in hindsight , that was very selfish of me. Only You know why You do what You do and I need to learn that.
No worries Mo. I wish my gold videos did better to be honest and I appreciate you and the others that enjoy them but they get really small views compared to my other diy/fix videos. But like I said, it doesn’t bother me one bit and like what you said. I’ll do what I do. I do like good videos better… I for sure like em more :)
Well done!
Thanks 510! I hope everything is going well with you my friend :)
What’s up with the ghost shrimp nest thing for ocean/beach?
I have no idea Jr. there are a lot of special rules when it comes to the beaches. You may want to reach out to the local city for answers on that matter. Sorry I didn’t help on this one :)
I ordered one of the Sluice Fox types today because it was miniature but I’m hoping it works. Great video.
Good luck my friend! I think you’ll do great, but if you want to get more serious, there’s much better equipment out there. I put a video out a few months ago stating my favorite beginner tools that any prospector would be happy with. You should check it out and see if anything catches your fancy! Thanks again for the comment and support!
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I bought more serious equipment too! I just got the mini to hang from my rear view mirror. It was cute. Thanks
@patfromamboy lol! I love it! It is a neat little sluice. Definitely pocket sized!
I gotta say it’s a great concept but I think you’re going about it backwards. Let me explain… With your air tube in the bottom bucket you can only get a fraction of the fines to fall from the classifier bucket because once you get enough material to fall through to the bottom it will eventually block the holes. Other fluid bed classifiers I’ve seen have a separate area for the fines to settle into.
Heh Salmon King! Thanks for commenting and I agree with what you’re saying. I actually thought about putting another bucket below that and having the classified cons collect in there. It’s worth trying for sure. I’m currently working on a part 3 where I’m putting some viewer ideas to the test. I’m liking how it’s going so far. It’s fun to do regardless how impractical this is :) lol
try running less air pressure, liquify versus boil
You got it Eric! I’m working on the third and final test. It’s gonna be good :)
try running the air such that it only slightly aggitates, you dont want too much pressure coming through the holes. seems like ya gotta give the heavys a chance to get past the chambers. ya want to liquify, not boil.
Thanks Eric! I did better on my second video and I’m still working on a third video but it’s looking promising and I completely get what you are saying and will do just that. Thanks again Eric! I appreciate you and your support!
Major Black Sand in your pan, Stoney but Good AU Too!!! Thanks for sharing!
Ha. As you know I have the whole Samsung suite of appliances. They sure make the black stainless steel finish nice looking, but so far I had to have a circuit board and ice maker replaced (it was under warranty) for the refrigerator, and had to replace a stove top control switch (which isn't all that difficult). So far the microwave and dishwasher are...sort of...ok. Nice DIY though!
Yes! They make great looking appliances but man they have a high failure rate. I was lucky to have all of mine under warranty as well but I think mines been over for quite sometime. Does your dishwasher have the waterwall feature or is it something else? Sometimes I wish they’d just keep things simple. The fridge I have out in the laundry area will never die!!! Hahaha. There’s nothing to it!
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I have the model below yours. Doesn't have the waterfall feature, thank goodness.
@mcvidzone5670 yes thank goodness. We just got this one because of the black stainless steel when it first came out.
Thanks man for this vid i have a 194 🎉
My man Rick! You are so welcome my friend! I just used my 194 all weekend rounding some alders and man that little chainsaw can rip! I barely use the bigger one anymore. The 194 can tackle anything I give it! Anyhow, thanks for the comment and support! Have fun out there and stay safe!
Thank you so much for this video
You are so welcome Aunty! Thank you for the support and comment :)
Great info here. Stoney is BOSS
Thank you kind sir! You’re the best man!
2015 production date yeh i spotted it , in the river with it 🤣, Aha no wonder you did your back in lifting those machines around, on a serious note you just saved yourself a huge repair bill, ok that's it good for another 9 yrs lol , you lifted that machine like a power lifter 🤔now can we go get some gold now your back is obviously a lot better bro 🤣🤣 cool video.
Hahaha! Thanks Scotland! This is the second time in 2-3 years where this motor went out. It’s just not built that well. I am thankful that I can fix it though. And yes….. back to the gold! Lol
Nice informational video brother!
Thanks Dude! It stinks having to fix it, but I’m glad I can. Saves me tons of money :)
Amazing review my friend
Thank you Fey! I have to save money where I can!
Dude, get a Bosch. Best in the market.
Hey Mitch. I just may when these finally die out. I’ll never get another Samsung kitchen appliance again.
Liked, shared and commented. What’s a dishwasher? I saw wires n plumbing so I assume it makes hot water, or some other witchcraft I don’t believe in. 🗽🤴🏻👋 21:27
Hahha! Oh boy! I like magic and sorcery! 🪄
Mahalo Braddah Stoney 🤙🏽👊🏽 one day I will definitely come back and watch this if I ever get my own place and add a dishwasher 👍🏽😎 still hand washing 😂😅
Thanks Mana! I hope everything is going well with you! Stay cool brother… it’s getting hot out there!
Great job getting it done indeed fam. Keep at it. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Thanks brother! I appreciate you :)
I'm new to panning and enjoy ur video, thanks for posting
Hey Scott! Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy them! It’s a great hobby and we have an amazing community! Welcome and please ask questions. :)
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser Being new to this hobby I need to purchase some equipment any recommendations anyone? thanks again scott
@scottkerlee4849 I know what you mean Scott. I put a video out maybe a few months ago where I point out my top pieces of equipment, def check it out, link below! Thanks. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z4N6vKSNls-4ZNI.htmlsi=yRP2oPL7t0_C1LtI
Great video Stoney, I changed one out two months ago for some friends of ours, you did great. 👍😎🎩⚒️G.P.
Thanks GP! I appreciate that and great job with your friend! I hate when stuff doesn’t last long enough!
This is a cool video stoney! I don't own a dishwasher but if I did I'd know how to fix it! Thanks for the video buddy 😊
Thanks CareLess! Things break alllll of the time around here, but knowing how to fix them is important. It’s a great way to save money! Thanks for coming by!
Why did you have to undo the 3 wire screw terminals ? OH - NVM - It was so you could slide out the washer from under the bench
You make me wanna go buy a Samsung Dishwasher and run it 24/7 just so I can replace the motor
lol!!! Never buy Samsung appliances! I’ve had nothing but bad luck but I’m glad I can use this platform to at least show people how to fix them…. Now if it’ll only find gold!!! Hahahah. Much respect Mo! Thanks for coming by :)
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser Samsung apparently make the most popular make of mobile phone on the planet. I would think the plastic gears in your motor got chewed up. An appropriate sized , easily accessible fuse in line with the motor may be a good upgrade - OR NOT. Would depend on what has caused the waterfall to jam.
@goldsluicetinkerer oh I agree. Samsung phones are great and I have all Samsung TV’s and I love them. To me it’s just the appliances. This is the second time I’ve had to replace the motor. They are just crap, but easy to repair. Things break in groups of 3… I’m waiting on the third one! Hahahha
Good info Stoney, now you just need to figure out how to make it classify, stratify and catch the gold !
Lololol! If there is a way… you’d know I’d find it! Thanks Joe! I hope you are doing well :)
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser know thats right, I was about to say something similar, good video again
Thanks for the share!
Thank you kind sir! I appreciate you coming by and hanging with me! I hope everything is well with you!
More fancy features means more to go wrong, and I have never had any luck with Samsung appliances.... Nice pal :)
You got that right! Samsungs suck! I’ll never buy another again! Thank for stopping by and commenting. Always appreciated my friend :)
Walking around on a roof with slippery moss, what could possibly go wrong? A British celebrity, Rud Hull, died as a result of falling from his roof.
I agree with you, that’s why I stated first and foremost if it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. My roof really isn’t that steep and I use running shoes with lots of grip, so I’m pretty careful. Thank you for the comment and support. I hope you have a great weekend!
It would be interesting to capture the gravels and sands coming off the end of these experimental sluice boxes and then run that through a commercial grade or a very good sluice box to find out how much is escaping.
Yes Mouse, I should have done that and will do something like that in the future if I attempt this again. Thank you for the comment and support :)
