Alice, Loved your presentation but one minor correction: Cinder Cone and the Painted dunes are in the Eastern portion of the Park. And probably the easiest way to access them is from Butte Lake which is on a dirt road that takes off from Hwy 44. I would highly recommend to any park visitors that they obtain the Lassen Volcanic National Park map published by National Geographic. Just the “Right” level of detail for most destinations. The road through the Park has just opened this last week as I write this, June 26th, 2024. Mark L

Loves these parks. These parks are mainly backcountry with about 5 percent of the park being developed.

I tried the shortcut and ended up climbing the wrong peak. The long way from Gunsight pass is longer but less rough. It involves losing a few hundred feet, though. Thanks for the cool video- it takes me back...

That’s a marmot! They live in high altitude places mostly but are pretty prevalent in the Sierras, and colorado too

Luggage fits easily under the bed and the closet was quite spacious. You don't need a lot there are no formal dinners just hiking, lounge and active wear is all you need.

Reminds me of a little 3 day Colorado River/Utah adventure last year. Going to the Bar10 Ranch, staying in a covered wagon, then being helicoptered down to the river for 2 days rafting. You’d love it!

Go before 6 am. It’s early for sure but you get to see Sun Rise. Especially if you can’t get a reservation. Same after 3 but get there pretty close to 3 pm because the line gets long quickly

Great video. Just a correction. It is not the water that used to surround Mexico City. It is the lake on top of which it was built.

I didn't realize there were days that didn't have scorching sun...🤣been to that island so many times but have only set foot on it a dozen or so times. great fishing destination. with the prospects of possible cloud coverage I might consider a hike over there. cycling is brutal. flew in once for fun. 13 miles down from airport in the sky, 13 miles climbing back to the 206.....not for the novice riders
