Its just as iconic to hear the Maestro himself conduct it live. I actually got the extreme privilege to see John Williams conduct Imperail March live this year in August. He also conducted Duel of The Fates, Asteriod Field, Anakins theme and Throne room, and Finale from Star Wars. Then he even conducted ET end theme live, which I never thought I'd get to see him do live.

What is the use of a conductor? It is ONLY SOMEONE WHO MAKES HIS ARMS GO, what do the musicians do during a musical piece THEY LOOK AT THEIR PARTY, THEY NEVER LOOK AT THE CONDUCTORNEY, IT IS TRUE
@wjcroft72 Жыл бұрын
Conductor is giving general timing synchronization. Speed of sound is such that large groups like this cannot perform without the central conductor keeping sections in sync. But beside that, the conductor is present throughout all rehearsals, voicing the piece in the way he desires. Conductor is ESSENTIAL to the interpretation of any orchestral work.
