ive been twice to white island, last time 2014, i was fully aware of the risks, how these people did not think there's a risk is ridiculous
Love to see these nostalgic steam beauties back in action.
Lovely stuff!
People themselves are responsible for what happen to them it is stupid to go to a place like that no common sense at all
La música le queda tan bien al video como un cascabel a un cerdo.
It reflects the people's interest and care for these old machines! Thank you for sharing
Money can't buy you a brain.
One of my fondest memories as a fireman was relieving at Klipplaat in 1958. Fired to Oudtshoorn on a 19D number 3340 and returned the following day on the Cape Town to Port Elizabeth express passenger train, a trip to remember.
A cool South African Garratt Steam Locomotive here at this railroad over in one of these countries in Africa.
These old steam engines and trains are truly marvellous
Mostly gone now I guess?
Fantastic as always. Shared to fb groups.
Excellent Phootage my late grandfather was a Station Master on the railways always referred to a double header as a 16 up. 8 driving wheels x 2 YL
Good stuff
Very irratating music😂
That helmet will help nothing 😂😂
Lmaoo if you want a “relaxing holiday” you wouldn’t go to the crater of an active volcano
Why are there no warnings about the volcano island blew up and how come some were hurt and some people were looking for their love ones wow were killed by a volcano island. I think the brothers who own the tour guides and they should pay all the funds for family and friends who lost their family members and friends 🧡
So these people didnt know an active volcano was dangerous. Some people are so stupid they think the volcano knows they are there and wont erupt out of kindness
you had to have googled about volcano level types before going on an active volcano. horrible incident.
Amazing and impressive very impressive indeed what a great video thanks for sharing ok ❤😊😮
People don’t understand how massive the Class 19 is in person. We made REALLY big engines compared to the gauge they were made for. I wonder how many of those engines on the side are either going to be restored or scrapped🤔
Heythanks
Thx for this beautiful video. I am an absolute fan of steam locomotives and the garratts are such marvelous machines.
Beautiful footage of such a disastrous event, thank you for sharing
The smooth riding of that loco at speed is fascinating. The class 25 belongs to best designed modern steam locomotives for sure.
Think I'm going Bannanas🍌🍌🍌for trains😂😂
Oh my goodness, I grew up with the Apple Express, same Loco's was used......never knew about the Bannana Express....so close to East London❤
Wildernis, sedgefield side?
❤nice
Tony Smith who was in charge of Air Ambulance refused to let the emergency helicopters land on island to help the dying victims-he needs to go to jail & be stripped of his job & title.
❤That's you awesome wonderful workshop posting operacion garratt turistic congratulations.
This was out of a cinema movie "Le Train", or "The Train" in English from the 1964s and it was a real derailment using withdrawn stock from the French National Railways. The locomotive was a 140 "Pershing" from WW1 and subsequently used by the constituent railways which later formed the SNCF. They were al withdrawn before 1950 and never carried official SNCF numbers. The Pershings were one of the American war locomotive types of WW1, like the later WW2 S100-S160 and S200 types, and the British Austerity locomotives. The realism in this train crash is not yet equalled by any special effects and CGI. It pictures a German military train on its journey trough France where French resistance sabotages the track and had cooperating locomotive crew, the movie actually has several train wrecks happening in it all being real, and tells about the efforts to prevent a train with stolen art to leave France.
the videos of the flows descending the steps, at min 1.12, is there access to those played in real time?
Where are you
Wonderful video and machinery. So inspiring. 10:50
Amazing! Thank you so much for covering this volcano:].. This specific volcano is so f*cking ruthless for apparent reason:3..
Another great memory, regarding what I see on Google Maps and Street view all what remains of the heritage line is a couple of km of unused line and the station at Ixopo with several of the assets in a very derelict condition. The website isn't active anymore, so does the society even exist today?
The man filming this at the time are having a ball made out of steel! never do I ever thought the filming documentary of volcano have already happen in those days.. amazing footage, thank you.. Oh glory to God, where my soul is in his hands.. There's nothing but God, He is the most Compassionate the most Merciful..

Now you know what it was like when Mount Saint Helens erupted if you were standing on the north side… just faster.
What an amazing footage I love Garret locos.
Which year was this ,awesome video thanx
This video made me time travel several decades back South Africa Rocks ❤ from India 🇮🇳
"The little engine that could!" Thank you for posting these great scenes!
Lovely footage thanks you 😊 is there a date for this please?
2005
So does fresh magma come into the magma chamber so it will erupt felsic magma, then after that degasses I assume it melts the host rock which makes the natrocarbonatite? So felsic eruptions are followed by the natrocarbonatite?
3:51 Oh ok so more salisic magma took over vs the carbonitite. Thats a shame I really enjoyed the eruption style of the old volcano. I really wanted to see the lava at night with the recent more sensitive sensors on digital cameras.
Wow this is such a change from the peaceful effusive summit of years past. Is there more real magma coming into the volcano vs the carbonotie melting on its way up?
It seems to be cyclical. The similar violent eruption to the one in 2008 also occurred in 1967.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is Not funny
This is a serious thing.
