    12.12V at room temp is around 30% state of charge. That means they’ve been sitting on someone’s shelf for around a year. I like to see my new batteries between 12.6-12.9V.

    Chia is a slow rug pull. The prefarmed is alreafy getting sold each month the price is getting tanked each time. In the beginning, in the white paper, they mentioned they wouldn't touch the prefarmed, but after they start selling them, then its not worth the time and effort to farm or buy the coin.

    Hey this is a bit of an old video, but how do you protect your harddrives for power losses etc. I mean i know you run an UPS, but let's say that you're running out of juice in the battery - how does it safely power down seeing you are using that physical power button in the back. Thanks for great videos btw, it's been inspiring me to get a DE6600 too, very close to pulling the trigger tbh.

    Luckily its a massive UPS. I do have truenas set to shutdown with 5 mins of no power, which has happened only twice so far. This protects the state of the data in ZFS adequately in case of extended power loss. Have had no corruption detected in scrubs. The jbods themselves only ever power up and down directly. There is no soft off powerdown button on any enterprise JBOD I have seen so far if that is what you are asking. I do usually switch them off from the PDU however and not the physical button, but its essentially the same. In short it powering down is its safe powering down. You protect your data at the controller level and of course should not physically be powering up and down your JBODS frequently. JBODs are intended to stay running 24/7/365 but powering them off is reality also, even in datacenters.

    Hi, can someone help? Long story short. I have small/micro farm. 12x14TB of HHDs and I just started to re-plot from C7 to C31. From the beginning I'm farming on SpacePool. While I have more and more new plots, I see that my farm going down, but i thing that I'm farming more. Is it possible? Do I have to change pool, to non official node or something? Or, few days its just too short amount of time, and I'm paranoiac? I do it just as a hobby, and I didn't use gigahorse before, so i'm not sure I'm doing it properly. Sorry for my English i hope U can understand what I trying to say. ;)

    -Rustdesk direct connect works perfectly from Android to Windows using Tailscale. - Rustdesk direct connect from Windows to an Android phone does not work via Tailscale or LAN, even with input enabled in Accessibility. We have two S24 Ultras with Android 14 and it doesn't work on either. - I installed Phone Link on one of them and that works perfectly when enabled in Accessibility. Phone Link uses the LAN, which is fine for home, but with secure public hotspots, you have no LAN unless you cobble.

    Such a cool video. I adore this shit. I’m gonna build something similar with TrueNAS, gaming PC’s local, remote bare-metal gaming PC, and 3 gaming VMs using a shared Tesla and a dedicated RTX 3060, just for the fun of it and to learn. iPerf is fine for testing, but good luck getting anything remotely close from an UNRAID array unless you carefully lay out the data across all the disks and then query them consistently. Unraid is slow, even with NVMe, for numerous reasons.

  • @cryptochronicless

    How can I ensure seamless migration of VMs in Proxmox clusters without risking data loss or downtime? Could you make a video on what to do with our Crypto gains if we want to keep them on the blockchain? Maybe put them in RWA projects?

    Yeah..... I'm new to NAS and have been researching between TrueNas and Unraid. Would love to give Unraid a try, but not at their ridiculous pricing structure when theres a free TrueNas option.. Pass on Unraid for me. I'll also die on this hill, curious if many others that are new will as well, would be interesting to see if it eventually leads to a shrinking dying community of users for Unraid.

    what would be nice is if you can have a text file that can be read on the same USB stick to assist in setup whether it's unattended or "I REALLY don't want to bother with these settings so I will set this up and leave it to prompt me about the security questions when it arises" The ease of use can vary from "harder daddy..." all the way to "let's do a survey so my server can better handle me" and with those there can be easier UI designs or even websites saying "hey, you can backup your text file here" because... it would probably only fill a SQL query... OMG I used to just host a lot in SQL because the webhost said "you get 50MB storage... but unlimited SQL"

    Hi! 😊 I think each has a lot of strong points and each also has a lot of trade-offs. I personally use both in a manner that fits those strong points and we are very lucky to have great software that makes things easy. I'm pretty sure the container and VM sections I did not come out with much in the way of praise for TrueNAS. If those aspects are important for a user, that's a major tipping point in favor of UnRaid

    You don’t run into problems with Unraid at 300 drives, you run into it at 30 drives. It doesn’t even see all the drives in my storage server. Pretty pathetic. Had me baffled for a while doing hardware troubleshooting.

  • @ryanmalone2681
    @ryanmalone2681Ай бұрын

    I have both, each running ~150TB of storage. TrueNAS can’t be beat for NAS-only. Shove in 1 TB RAM, get yourself a fast card and switch and forget about it. It’s fast and stable. What else could be more important? What I like about Unraid is that if you lose both parity drives, and then you lose another drive, you only lose that one drive. Same scenario in TrueNAS and you’d lose the array. Container and App Store is good. Things I don’t like, speed and stability primarily, which is kinda poor for a NAS. I’ve found that what’s better than Unraid OR TrueNAS, is an Unraid backup server with a primary NAS as TruNAS inside a VM in Proxmox, only used as a NAS, with VM’s and containers in Proxmox, using TrueNAS as an iSCSI target for fast storage outside of the Proxmox node,and as part of a cluster.
