On that Bristol Freighter flight, the engines were perfectly in sync at take off, where the props could be seen turning at the same rate, but then got out of sync as the flight progressed (evidenced by the thrumming beat), with the left engine producing more power than the right which caused the tightening right circle. Anyway, thought that was interesting.

Hi, Thanks for the video Chris, I'm sure it was a brighter day weather wise than it appears. I'm sure it was very enjoyable for all of us, and a big thanks to those from the Oxford club who made it possible.

@@FlyingBuzzard hi, I don't know quite where you are coming from with this. In all the years I have flown free flight I can't remember any occasion when the young have been met with anything but help and encouragement from the FF community and in the most friendly manner. The almost bullying attitude you suggest maybe found in other branches of the hobby that you know more about. Regarding not encompassing modern technology we do in fact use anything that can be used with effect in this gentle art. The numbers are dropping in all the main aeromodelling disciplines according to BMFA stats except Drone flyers. This was a very poor turnout for a national championships and I should have perhaps supported it even though it clashed with a very important family event also the venue is not of my liking.

I have a Wee Snifter, as seen at 08:03, I built mine for electric power. I've noticed that it can develop a series of stalls, sometimes ever deepening, if not launched at precisely the correct speed. I think it's possibly due to the aerofoil shape, having no Phillips Entry on the leading edge. Obviously, on a windy day this is less than ideal. In calm conditions and with a gentle launch, it flies beautifully and is a consistent performer. It's better to underpower the launch than overpower it, almost dropping it onto the wing as opposed to shoving it into the air and causing a zoom climb.
