So cool man! You nailed it. But i can confidently add that it’s also a great touring bike if you don’t mind the wind. It was out of my budget hut when my ftr Indian got written off, i found a cheaper r9t demo and it rides exactly like the ftr, but more refined, better built and a bigger tank especially! A dream to ride! So cool to see manhattan again!

SUCKS you have to turn around and buy a usable seat for the M bike considering the average buyer is not going to be racing they just want the carbon wheels for a good price. Might be better to get the non M and buy aftermarket carbon wheels because even though it could not save a dime you WOULD end up with a brand new spare set of premium forged wheels which are not only worth a lot for resale but would be awesome to have exra set of wheels if you wanted to run two sets of tires ....one for sport touring and the other for track days or serious canyon riding etc ....uhhh but there are hiccups with that idea number one being the price which cheapest I saw on quich google is 3500ish so at least an extra grand to have extra set of wheels and then there is the total hassle of transferring rotors etc in wheel swaps and maybe sprocket depending on how that is mounted on rear....is it a seperate carbon carrier? Or do both wheels use the same cast/forged carrier? idk? BTW it appears the carbon M wheels purchased seperately might be 4 to 5 thousand bucks a set? Making the M bike a no brainer other than the pisser of having to immediately buy a seat you could actually live with every day
@dougiequick1 Жыл бұрын
In the beginning on the base bike you mentioned several packages but I am confused as to if all those are on "the fully loaded"? I understand no carbon wheels etc but all the other stuff you mentioned for 20,6XX eight? Cruise heated grips quick shift dynamic pro etc etc premium modes? I think BMW does a poor job of differentiating which bike has what which really gets exasperating when shopping used as sales people tend to have no idea and it is like pulling hens teeth to find out....maddening! If they would just add suffix designaton to the model that could be made so easy IMHO. Not everyone is rabid RRphile to memorize all the differences many of us are shopping between several brands of the same genre NOT just fixated on a single brand

I believe you blundered on wheel options....there is no WAY there is a "steel wheel" varient on this bike or any current motorcycle with one poece wheels ....I believe you were referring to CAST wheels which of course are an aluminum alloy but not the lighter stronger FORGED varient ....how in the world did you do that blunder? LOL I dont think there are even steel wheels these days on premium brand cars for that matter? Maybe idk but I doubt BMW used em

Great video! You really show the bike in its element. Just riding around and having fun. I haven't owned a bike since moving to NYC 7 years ago and have been going back and forth about which make and model. But when going around town, I ALWAYS stop and take a pic of the R9T. There is just something special about it. And NY'ers really make them special with their mods. I saw a simple version with the brushed aluminum tank and it was beautiful....

its quite a special bike in my opinion. it brings back feelings of nostalgia for me. its a lovely bike to ride around town, or down the coast - its pretty nimble - responds well and just looks stunning. The 100 years version is one of the nicest ive seen.

Great video as always. So I am looking to trade in my Indian cruiser and trying to decide between the 1250R and 1250GS. I will be using the motorcycle for commuting to work and back, riding around with my son (he has a zx6r), and maybe the odd trip here and there. I do not see myself doing off-roading (may change later but dought it as I am not getting any younger). So would you recommend the 1250R or GS?
