crush, to me at least, reads like she’s craving a somewhat toxic relationship. she wants this person even if they are going to crush her. she wants the pain if it means she gets the pleasure. to me it kinda mirrors attached to you. where in attached to you, she doesn’t want to let that person get close because it’s possible they’ll hurt her which she doesn’t want because the way she describes it, everything is going great in that relationship, something she’s not used to (and that shit is scary). but in crush, she’s willing; shes choosing the pain she knows (the lies and the secrets she says she misses and presumably used to). she wants the bloody side of it (which i LOVE some good gory imagery, personally) saying she wants her guts ripped out, she wants to be crushed, she misses the pain with the pleasure (take it as literally as you want lol) because it feels safe and known. we also see a hint of this imagery in attached to you when she says she’d rather walk on glass then give someone she loves and trusts the opportunity to hurt her. as someone with big issues letting people in and choosing to trust and that tends towards destructive behaviors, BIG RELATE to these songs.
