you're kind of right about the syrup in th sippy cup, sippycup is a song about how hard you try to hide your problems, it will still find away to come out. The syrup in the lyrics is about parents tricking their baby to drink a medicine, your point of view is also right in crybaby's universe, about her mom drugging her

I definitely question your thought process with some of these songs lol and also i honestly don’t know how you connect Mel’s very first album she made when she was 18-20 to her Portals and After school albums that are her most recent. i promise just because they have the same word in the lyrics doesn’t mean that’s what’s she’s connecting lmao cause she didn’t think of portals until she was in her late 20s which was many years later. 🤷🏻‍♀️

When you see the Music Video from Sippy Cup it's pretty much about how CryBaby's Mom had enough of her Husbands affair and Kills Both of them that's why she says the blood is still there even after you wash it and then the Mother realized her Daughter wash watching and puts Alcohol in her Sippy Cup in Hopes she forget stuff just like her when shes Drunk and Blacks out atleast that's my take on that😊

I know the most common interpretation of the "syrup" in Sippy Cup is the mother drinking alcohol, but I've always leaned more towards your interpretation, or towards the idea that Mom's the one drinking cough syrup. Easier to claim you don't have a substance abuse problem then. It's just cough syrup, you've got a cold, right?? Also your comment about dark thoughts. I'm not really sure it's possible to get too dark with this album...
