Thank you so much for this video. I'm having the same problem right now. Greetings from the Czech Republic.
Bro you are awesome i just fixed a 2008 jetta following your steps. Wire black and red had corrotion got my power and check engine light back thanks for this video
Can I come to u
Great video. Currently running into this issue on my 07 Passat 2.0fsi. The code I’m getting is p2294. Recently changed the HPFP and still getting the same code again. The cam follower looked worn but wasn’t punctured bur replaced it anyway. Any suggestions man?
That fault is for the control circuit on the high pressure fuel pump, I would scope the power supply and ECM control at the high pressure pump.
Thank you for this video! I was on my way to work when my engine light started flashing and then went solid. My engine was running really rough and it was sluggish in the lower RPMs. Because it's a manual transmission I was able to keep the clutch half engaged to maintain high enough RPM's to smooth out the engine. I took my car to O'Reilly and took advantage of their FREE Check Engine service. The printout showed Cylinder Misfire on four of my five cylinders along with several other codes. I followed your video, performed a Cylinder Drop test, determined I had a bad ignition coil, picked up a new one from O'Reilly, and replaced it myself using another KZread How-To video (because I know NOTHING about cars). My car fired right up and purred like a kitten. I still had a Check Engine light so I disconnected the battery to clear the error codes (shoutout to O'Reilly for that tip), reconnected, and no more Check Engine Light. O'Reilly performed another FREE Check Engine service and all my errors are gone. All told, this repair cost me about $32.00 and less than an hour of my time. Thank you again!
Very good vid. Great job! More 😊please😊
Mine has an error transmission but it randomly goes away and randomly come back and there doesnt seem to be wrong with my vw golf, it runs and turns on perfectly fine
Just had this happen on my 05. I heard from other owners of what would cause it . Ran truck through a car wash and truck was stalling and sputtering after and would keep shutting off. Went right to the fuel pump driver module and that was the issue. I could see a hole in it and a ton of corrosion. Ran to auto parts store. Picked a new one up for less than 200. Swapped it out and bingo.. truck started right up and so far I have had no issues since. No scan tool needed. No point in trying other things when you can clearly see a hole in the module and corrosion. Don't waste your time. Swap it out. That more than likely is the problem. That definitely will cause a stalling issue and act like your out of gas.
I wanted to tell you that your help was very important to fix a Jetta over here at the shop, well appreciated.
45 plus years ASE certified tech , I MUST comment : WELL DONE ! Havent seen that many how to videos on U-Tube this clear and smooth !
Wow your thought process and how u find the problem great video thanks boss 🫡
Hello
Could this cause misfires?
amazing work!
Good video, if I’m not getting a reading on the two ground pins, any ideas where these two wires trace back to?
my 03 turbo passat has same symptom. hard start. autozone diagnosed my computer and it says cam sensor A circuit high bank 1 or single sensor. wa s gonna change front sensor but can't be sure it's problem after watching this video. what to do?
Do you have a video on the module recoding element?
6 year old video, helped me out in 2024! God bless this man! Problem solved! God is good!
Wow bro u truly the VW expert
This jogged my memory from when I used to work on cars. I remember the insurance company brought in a newly painted car and they were tripping out why it wouldn't start. I had it easy since I found a ground that was painted over. What I want to know is what did the customer have fixed or serviced before it started having the problem. This could be the fault of the dealership mechanic that worked on it last. Just saying since I've had to fix other people's stuff before.
Thanks for great video like always
Mu abs light is on but i did diagnose no codes check all wires so i assume module dead??
Just learned something. Ground to ground no test light! Very cool 😎
You just fixed my car from 7 years ago! Thanks! Now i know what's wrong (same as this video)
I have a 2000 beetle i have Comunication error for the window motor for the right and left side but the left window works but the right window doesn’t . I found some broken wires on the driver side door harness so fixed it but still the pass. Window wont go down or up. What is another things that i can check. Any help will be helpfull. Thanks in advance
More than likely not a hg but a cracked cylinder head from overheating at some point or from a porous coscast head and not a Germany casted one,
Very possible
@@PositiveLeadDiagnostics What did it turn out to be?
Customer did not want to go any further
@@PositiveLeadDiagnostics Well that's lame but head tear offs aren't cheap.
Great video
Do you still repair VW cars?
Yeah. They are always broken lol
@@PositiveLeadDiagnostics Can we send our VW audi scanner to you to test?
Come do this to my 24valve vr6 please 😊
Bro ur video and knowledge u share want to thank you for the content keep it up been following u for long time your really good at it euro cars
I got same code today for the first time at 261K on VW Touareg 3.6fsi....probably same issue, I hope won't affect driving
Try a firstlook pressure sensor on the reservoir and trigger one coil. That is a quick way to find the offending cylinder. The increase in the pressure waveform will match the ignition coil with the firing order.
Totally agree. Not sure why I didn’t do that. I filmed this one a while ago. Might not of had the right adapters to do it
I have a question so originally I was having an oil leak coming from my valve cover and the rear main seal. After I did the valve cover and drove the car a bit I got the code p12a2 which is fuel pressure high i continued to drive the car the code went away and came back on top of that I got the code that the engine is running lean. The breather seems to make the same noise when I go to cover it as you did in the video so I’m assuming I need to replace it by why would the code come up now after the valve cover has been done? And why would the code go away and come back on its own? if you could give me an any answer it would be greatly appreciated thank you!
You may have more than one issue. I would be looking into the rear main. Also did you use oem parts? Some of the aftermarket pcv breathers are junk
So what exactly does this vent solenoid do? Is it an issue if my truck has this code??
The vent solenoid opens to allow you to fill the tank with fuel. In the event that the valve sticks closed, it will be hard to fuel up the vehicle. The pump will keep stopping like it’s full. Do you have emissions where you live? It’s an evap leak that will cause an engine light and fail emissions.
Great video
Hi everyone how much cost this work ?
Just watched this because my gf’s beetle pass window wasn’t working. I hadn’t even started troubleshooting yet, but decided to see what others were seeing. Went straight out the the car after this, and found the same white wire broken in the same spot. Will be ordering a new harness, but for now my gf is happy to have a working window. Nice find!

What is the sensor called
Ac pressure sensor
Question: I have the same issue, and code on a 2013 VW GTI. So, does Circuit A always indicate that it being a broken signal wire on the 6-pin? I have the fuel-rail sensor plugged in but the high-pressure fuel pump connector unplugged right now so my car can at least run, but I am not making any power with the high-pressure fuel pump disconnected. Please, let me know so I can get this issue fixed.
it was not an option to swap the signal wire from the intake to the exhaust instead of properly mounting the camshaft wheels?
I think that would have worked to maybe trick the ECM but still would not be the proper repair. Maybe for testing purposes that would have worked.
After many days of fighting the same thing on a 2010 VW Jetta 2.5, and replaced cam sensor , crank position sensor, battery, clock spring, and many other problems , car would continue to shut off while driving. Pulled ECM OUT , while connected and shook wire harness , car shut off, and it was wire 62 corroded in the bundle. Why is this not a recall? Thank you soo much for this video.
This is my exact problem :(
I have a 09 Ford f150 v8 4.6 with engine light on, the motor runs good, but it has a code number P0446, capless fuel system, apparently has a small evap leak, is it the evap valve or the fuel fill inlet? Thanks
Hi, Tom.Just a question. What do you use for diagrams on volkswagen?
I have access through Vw. Program is called elsa
Don't understand. Your engine code says Bank 1 Sensor 1. I thought sensor 1 was O2 sensor located at DPF, not NOx in the pipe. Please explain.
This is a NOX sensor. And there is only 1 downstream on this model.
Can you tell me how you connected the pressure gauge to the valve fitting on the high pressure pump because I rented from AutoZone and O'Reilly's and those gauges are for valve fittings that are more shallow where the connector to the gauge can push down on the core of the valve....the VW has the core recessed into the fitting and they don't work . Please help.
This depends on what engine/system you have. The engine in the video is a bpy engine code. That high pressure pump has a port that allows a normal gauge to thread on and read the LOW side pressure at the high pressure pump. If you are trying to read high side pressure, you need a digital gauge that threads on where the rail pressure sensor is. That high side pressure is way too high which is why you need a digital gauge. Vw has a special tool to read high side pressure
What about P12A2 code?
Thanks a lot for the video
Chased this issue for forever. I ripped the whole interior apart thinking i have a bad ground or something was overheating. Great vid
