The stalling could indeed be a fueling issue, haven't had it on my Triumph yet (I do still run the stock exhaust). Had the same or very similar issue on my old Z1000 though under emergency breaking with the clutch pulled in. What worked there was: try to make sure your engine is in overrun before pulling in the clutch. The click could in fact just be the brake pads slightly moving forward in your callipers. You can try to force replicate it by: - rolling your bike backward and gently squeeze your front brake a couple of times while doing so - release your front brake before coming to a stand still and make sure not to touch your front brake after that - gently drive forward, pull in the clutch (just to lower engine noice) and squeeze your front brake - if you hear the "click" at this point or at the moment you start driving forward, it is normal, it is a little bit of play that brake pads always have. Sometimes you can hear them settle, sometimes you can't. I've been less lucky so far with my street triple. It started leaking oil out the top of the engine after 6500 km. At first it just seemed to be the valve lid gasket that was faulty, but after changing it, the bike kept on leaking oil. It now seems we have to replace the entire cylinder head of the engine. Bike has been at the dealer for 2 weeks and no forecast on when it will be fixed :(

Thanks for the tips, I figured out my brake issue and the stalling is a lean condition. I also know how not to induce it, or should I say prevent it.. Bummer about your oil leak. This is my 3rd Triumph, they have been very reliable.

I've had the stalling issue on my 2024, but they updated the firmware at my first service, and it went away. I dont have an aftermarket exhaust. I'll add one when there are more options and tune for the exhaust. Everything else works very well. Im still under 2K miles. Hopefully, everything stays good. You should probably bring yours to a good mechanic to check out the bike, and a shop that's good with suspension to check that's good. If the brakes are making noise, its not a great idea to keep riding until you know they are not about to have some catastrophic failure.

  • @Yo-Ken

I figured out the brake noise, its all good. When the bike had a stock exhaust there was no issue. Its a lean condition. I do my own service, There is no dealer in my area I trust. I always figure issues out on my own. Knowing how to fix your own bike most important to me. There is nothing I am afraid to do on a bike mechanically.

@Yo-Ken I don't doubt your ability to work on your bike. I do most of the work on mine. But, I know there's limitations in my ability to diagnose some things. It's worth it to have someone more qualified than ourselves to give a thumbs up or down. My suspension wasn't dialed into really any of the settings, even though it was supposed to be set for Road setup in the owners manual. I was able to take care of that. After 2000 miles, I'm taking mine to one of the shops that are known for their expert suspension setups. They'll get it dialed in correctly outside of Triumphs recommended settings, which are very generalized. For example, there is definitely not enough sag when I sit on the bike. Even though I've been reading the Suspension Bible, I still want to see the pros dial it in. To throw my issues in the ring about the Triple is there is a lot of wind noise that comes up from below into the helmet. My HD Softail Springer, hardly any wind noise, all exhaust noise into the helmet. The triple, I definitely need earplugs for long rides.

G'day Ken. Its been a while brother, but medical issues have been kinda f*cking me up somewhat. Hey, it is what it is right? Such is life. Great bike meet-up, like walking through a lolly shop, too many good ones to choose from!.What better way to spend an evening. Friends, bikes and hopefully coffee. LOL. Really good to be back along for the ride, and the conversation brother. My eyes are not that sharp anymore so night riding, for me, is pretty well a thing of the past now. Sucks getting old as body parts tend to break down, but as long as there's daylight, I'll still ride. Speaking of which, I now ride a '23 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. Talk about an old fart's bike! With a strong tailwind, and going downhill, it can actually hit 60mph! 🤣I still check out good, fast looking bikes, picture myself on one and then say to myself, " Wake up dopey, too bloody broken now"! But you gotta laugh at life, because if you can still ride, you are are still living the life. Great video as usual brother, time to catch up with some of your previous ones. Stay safe, stay loose brother. 👍👍

Have a White 2024 street triple r with about 1200-1300 miles on it. The bike has never died for me when slowing down clutch in or out so I would definitely get that checked out. Maybe try downshifting clutch out with the quick shifter a little more? (Doubt that would fix it) If you have a warranty and take it to the dealer, see if that will cover it because I'm curious since I have a 3 year engine/transmission warranty package with it. As for the breaks initially making a weird clicking sound when first pulling in the lever I also have that but I'm not concerned about that as it's only when the bike has been sitting for a while and it's the first break pull in. My Royal Enfield Meteor and Ducati 2015 Ducati Diavel make a similar clicking sound for the first break lever pull. Not sure if that's the issue you are having but that is what it sounds like. Edit: After reading the other guys comment about the aftermarket exhaust and there not being a tune, I do agree with him that might be the issue as I do know normally if you do a FULL SYSTEM exhaust, (not a slip on) that usually requires an ECU tune. My bike is mostly stock and has no aftermarket exhaust so that could explain why I never had that stalling/fueling issue.

I have ‘23 ST. No problem with the engine cutting out, had my quick shifter changed due to voltage drop on the downshift (looks like a common problem- which is recognised by Triumph). I wonder if the perceived “play” in your steering is down to movement of brake pads in the calliper? I can see a slight movement between the calliper and disc if I apply the front brake and pull/push the bike. I had exactly the same on a ‘99 Fireblade. Sounds like a knock, which it is but nothing to worry about. BW😊

I've got a '23/'24 RS, which I picked up last November & have done just over 6000km. It has recently been serviced, i.e., oil, etc. & and checked over at 6k at the dealer. I have had the engine cut out as you described on two occasions. Once the first week after I got it and the second yesterday. As such, it hasn't been a major issue, but it'd be nice to sort it out if possible. Yesterday, I was going pretty slow up a slight incline, and it happened when I gave it some juice. The first time it happened, I got the dealer to check it out, and they didn’t find anything at fault. I did read on a Triumph forum of some others experiencing the same with no conclusive errors found, unfortunately. I will be mentioning it to the dealer the next time I'm passing. I haven't noticed the brake issue you mentioned. Other than that, there haven't been any problems. It's a great bike & heaps of fun & very addictive. I'll keep you posted if I get to the bottom of it. Oh, & great vids, keep it up!

Turned out the shifters somehow "broken". Something with Volt dropoffs between certrain gears or smthn like that. And the technician said he had quite a lot of borked quickshifters lately. Hi Ken, sorry to hear about these problems. Frankly, I don’t think this should be characterized as a Triumph reliability issue. You have an aftermarket exhaust that has not been tuned. You also alluded to wheelies and that this could be related to the clicking sound. I have over 5000 miles on my 24’ STR 765 RS, and, fortunately I haven’t experienced any problems (yet). I recently performed the second oil change (annual). I think you already know what the problem is with your exhaust - fueling (one reason why I haven’t opted for an aftermarket exhaust). The brake issue, I’m not sure about but I would obviously check all components for leaks, fluid level, pads, etc. Your bike is still under warranty so Triumph should cover you on the brakes (if that’s the problem), they probably won’t cover you for the exhaust problem though. I hope you get everything resolved soon. Ride safe.

The problem with new bikes isn't that they're lean at higher rpm. The EPA doesn't check that. They run stoich at steady cruising rpms which is fine for that too. The problem is right at idle. When you say hard deceleration, I think you're saying that you're slamming the throttle closed. They try to make the damn things run nearly fuel free at idle. Pretty much all fuel injected bikes suffer from poor fueling right on/off idle. Usually it's just lurching. Dying seems a little excessive, but your far from the first to have that issue. My Road King comes dangerously close, but so far has always fired before it cuts out. Definitely misses though. My Heritage is the opposite. Touching the throttle makes that one want to leap into the next county, but getting off the throttle isn't a problem. I'd guess the other issue is just contraction in the cold causing a little play. Once things warm up, everything fits snugly again.

Hey K I got my red 765RS a couple of months ago and like you, just love it. Thought I’d give you a recommendation to try a bike that I tested yesterday; the Triumph Rocket 3 Storm. It’s a little left-field, but what an awesome piece of kit - 180bhp and 220nm of torque 😮 Cheers Mark B 🇬🇧

I would love to ride the Rockect... the torque is insane. Hopefully, in the future.

Mate, it’s got phooking bonkers torque, yet it’s just lovely to pootle along and chill. It weighs the same as the Titanic, but it’s got a very low COG and such an easy bike to ride. Beautiful build quality as always with Triumph and the Brembo Stylemas have awesome stopping power 😂

My first Ducati was a 2000 Monster M900ie. First year of fuel injection for Ducati in the Monster. It was a fun bike around town but just had no get up and go when you really twisted the throttle. looks like the more modern Ducatis don't have that issue. Went from that to my first Triumph, a Daytona 955i, which seems to be one of the slower Daytonas. Wish i would have held out for a 675, Hindsight is a bitch tho. Good to see someone's first impressions of the 765. Great video.

The monster 👹 is a completely different animal from The triumph, so much More fun to Ride and it gives you a feeling that makes you want to Hit All the time.. The triumph is a smooth criminal but it gets left behind when it's time to get into a little trouble the wild side is coming out.....
