The Street Triple gets new tires...

Hey guys after 3800 miles the Triple needs a new set of tires. Front tire still good, but the rear tire started to show the cords.

Imagine that, putting road tires on a motorcycle ridden on the road! ;) I'd go broke if I had to replace tires every 3800 miles. Nice lid.

I know what you mean, as soon as I said it, I realized how obvious that statement was. I get it, but 2 sets of tires a year aren't bad for the way I ride for me.

Those are great tires, even in the wet. I was split between those and the Michelin road 6 for my previous bike, an MT009SP, but I got a good deal on the Pirelli so went for them. Didn’t regret it. Did 4,000 km over the alps in 10 days with those tires and in some hard rain too. Very confidence inspiring.

Very good to here. I was also thinking of the Road 6's, I had them on my GS and there were great tires. Like you I got a good price, so I wanted to give the Rosso 4's a shot.

G'day ken. Currently 93 degrees fahrenheit in my part of Oz, with our first cyclone of the season making its way to the East coast of Oz. Hopefully get some rain from it. New comfort touring seat just rocked up fot the R.E., so I'll take her for a spin this arvo brother. Glad your cold weather gear is up to scratch, so unless it snows, there is no excuse NOT to ride !! LOL. Helmet and gloves look cool mate, and I'm sure the new hoops will do you well. Stay safe, have fun brother.

No excuses!, but I will take the 93 temps over the cold any day... thats without the cyclone obviously.

Arai helmets tend to be a bit louder in my experience. Shoei are some of the quietest.

Great helmet! I've had a few Shoei helmets, but wound up getting an Arai Quantum X couple years ago, probably my favorite helmet ever!

I had the Shoei for 4 years, such a great helmet. I loved the paint scheme on the Aria, but I was afraid the the Aria would not be as good as the Shoei. Its super comfy, and I'm very impressed with it... it will be a keeper for a long time to come.

Heated gloves? Man, this modern technology eh?

They are better than heated grips as far as staying warm, but are a bit bulky.

Hi Ken, I'll be interested to see how you get on with those rosso 4's. Still undecided whether I'll go for a sport or sport touring tyre next. Got 2500 miles on my rs but won't be using it again now until spring, too cold and we get salt on the roads here in the uk. I've got my old vfr750 for the odd winter ride that I do.

So far so good, about a 100 miles on them, and they handled just as well as the Super Corsa's. If I get another 1000 miles more than I did with the Super Corsa's I will be happy. My reviews aren't the best, I failed to mentions ride quality... also just like the Super Corsa's, which is very good.

@Yo-Ken Thanks Ken, I agree on ride quality. The super corsas are definitely the nicest tyres I've ridden on, very smooth with loads of feedback. They certainly inspire loads of confidence. 🙂

Yep, I would not imagine you would be able to notice any difference in tyres just by riding it. The first difference you would notice is when you were on your face sliding up the road when the bike slipped out from underneath you....an experience I have had by the way. I don't recommend it! LOL!

@@Yo-Ken Yep. My z650 completely disappeared from underneath me one time in a heavy thunderstorm as I was trying to brake and pull into a service station for shelter. I was doing about 100kmph when I hit the ground. But it was so wet my only injury was a stone was pushed into my elbow and I had to have it removed. Not a scratch on me apart from that.

@@Yo-Ken Not sure if you follow "Freddie Dobbs". But it seems his bonnieville has water damage. You might want to check out his channel since you are so much more knowledgeable on the details of bikes than he is. He rode it though flood water and also left it out in the rain. So I think it's water damage in the electricals.

I@@PeterNolan-009 I have seen a few of his videos. Water is the enemy for sure. I know bikes are designed to ride in the rain, but corrosion will happen. I rarely ride in the rain and very rarely wash mike bike with water. The less water the bikes sees the better chance of your electricals not failing, especially on old bikes.

@@Yo-Ken yep. As much as possible I avoided riding in the heavy thunderstorms we get in Australia. But sometimes you just have to be at a certain place at a certain time and you get wet. Lol.
