@@jayinla228 I was using an 7’5 MH Fast Omen rod with an Inception reel 8.1:1 gear ratio - both are made by 13 fishing. The main line was 40lb Daiwa J-braid and a 20lb Daiwa J-fluorocarbon leader.

Absolutely fantastic fishing , what is your opinion do you think the small mouth bass hit the swimbait at the head like from the front or do they try and swallow it from the back? 😊 thanks 👍

@@janosczovek8524 a lot of the smallies I caught on this trip were reaction strikes. They seemed to have t-boned the comeback shad towards the head.

I have not had the success on the top water that I did in 2019/2020. Maybe the fish are seeing too many now?

I subscribe to the fish aren’t as smart as we think camp but I’m sure that there is some truth to the mass topwater craze over the past few years.

@@sotayakfishing either they are accustomed to it, or the fish flat out left the area en masse. I was catching 2-2.5 lb smallies every time I went out. This year, I got my first one close to 3 in years but nothing in the last 2 months. Went out tonight. Got two medium smallies and a drum on a mega bass spinner bait but nothing on a plopper.

Yo……..nice, honest review. I myself live n Vero Bch., fish mainly salt & brackish waters & it’s been a year. I purchased a demo, sea grass & love everyone but I g about it. I fish min. twice a week & an average of 3.7 miles of kickin. I have never had any issues. It took me around 5 months of reading, watchin vids & doing several demos before I bought my 2022 Outback. It’s my first yak & I would recommend it ALLDAY 🤙🏼🤙🏼

My choppo tip seems best when fished from the bank but I'll start out with a fast retrieve but very gradually slow my retrieve down,this seems to provoke a following fish into biting right at the bank

Good call out- I think you are definitely on to something! I didn’t mention it in the video because I wasn’t specifically talking about choppos but I really like how loud the choppos can be even at a super slow retrieve. Thanks for watching!
