A great video very informative. Im having the same sort of problem as you had except its my heat control is not working. Ive had the dash out twice and I have replaced the heat switch, the heat flap Axel rod and the H I M. still no heat. After watching this im now going to try replacing the bem. Im not expecting this to work but I have another bem to try. Cheers, Phil.
Isopropyl is best for rubbing off the messy glue
did any paint come off?
I bought a new 250gb hard drive for my ps3 because the original one that was in my ps3 kept telling me that the storage file system was corrupted and needed to restore which it never fixed itself just ended up doing the same thing over and over again, i put the new hard drive in and the ps3 formatted and updated then when it came to installing always gets 'stuck' at 99% yes used a FAT32 usb stick and downloaded the install update option on Sony's website and did all the instructions several times only to continuously end up in the system update installation loop till 99% argh been a month and im far from over it at this point. 2024 means death to my ps3 sadly. Kinda makes me feel stupid for replacing the disk drive a few years ago could have saved myself $70 right there. Oh well
really appreciate you saying what you went through here, the problem with electronics and downloads and internet😀 etc etc is there is no 1--% something will always work, sad but true, but we always need to give it a go and try, good efforts on what you did and commendable, always keep your constant effort up when trying to do something its a good thing!!!
Can i do it on the white screen( non colour)
only thing you can do is try and give feedback here to let everyone know, I haven't tried personally so cant comment on that, appreciate your comment :)
Legend Life Saver
did that help you did it?
Did you do Quick or Full Format?
i think i did both
Ok
5:32 i'm still trying figure out why i don't get this message i did both format and nothing happen
Thankyou
appreciate the comment cheers
Does anyone know if this is also the factory headunit that the 1998 XH Series II came with? I have a new-to-me XH XR6 Ute, and it came with an aftermarket headunit, and I've been looking at photos online to see what the factory headunit would have looked like, and then try to buy one secondhand, and then deal with that whole security code issue. I am trying to keep the old girl as original as I can possibly manage. I am based in Ferntree Gully, so these folks in Scoresby are local (hopefully they're still there, given the video is 4yrs old).
if you look at the following link, the xh that is on it, on picture number 27 its shows the exact same radio installed so im sure it would be, xg - xh radio link: www.grays.com/lot/0001-20008800/classic-cars/1997-ford-falcon-longreach-xh-manual-ute
I got mine on a power supply punching in codes every 40min. I'm up to 5111, writing down as I go. I've got no life 🤦
@@aberakadabra1285 oh no lol how annoying, its good your willing to put in a lot of effort, my story was a fluke in where the company i called which i put on the video, just happened to work out :) appreciate your comment
How long does it take change a clutch there?
less that 15 min
Thanks your tutorial works but when I enter the menu like at minute 6:44 my ps3 frezee on the menu AND every time I turn it on it always frezee on the menu and stuck there every time I turn on my ps3. Edit:Sorry if I spam it because youtube somehow always deletes my comments for no reason.
your fine, yer the reformatting can be tricky, it might fix on the 4th or even 5th time, i find with these that you got to try many things and many times to make something work, at the end it might need a new hard drive as well, appreciate your comment
Good video mate, does the throttle body have a gasket by chance?
not that i know of and your welcome
Very interesting. It looked like the first time you filled it, the car was only jacked up at the front. Which would have given a fake level, being that the filler is at the rear.
good point, at the end i did put it all level and all is great now, appreciate your inpout
Thanks for your video. I have a 09 FG XT Falcon and like you I did the ICC and screen swap a couple of months ago, the ICC came from a Mk1 G6E. 3 days ago youtube randomly shows me one of your videos ( Part 1 ) FG FORD UTE ICC WITH SOME ADDED MOD EXTRAS.) and this video was a thumbnail on the right so I watched it, followed what you did and I now have a reversing camera. All up cost me $92 NZ ($4 2x entry fee into a pick-a-part yard, $80 ICC, $8 connector and $14.50 for a more stealth looking "top hat" camera) while the wreckers here want $265 for the oem Ford camera. I have the service repair manual in digital format and have been going over the wiring diagrams and it looks like I can do a similar hack to add in the park assist module and parking sensors. I picked up a rear bumper and PAM for $22 NZ from a different Mk1 G6E so that is my next project over the weekend. Once again thanks for a very informative video.
brings a lot of pleasure having comments like yours and that anything I did might assist in some way and at the end of the day help you save some money where you can use it in a possible better way, really appreciate the reply, let me know how you go :)🙂
@@entertainmentchanneloz1509 Hey. The camera I'd bought had bad picture quality and prone to electrical interference. Ended up buying a genuine second-hand Ford camera with the boot loom for $138NZ from a local wrecker, much cheaper than the ones I'd seen on ebay Aus. The power output from the screen is 6v and so is the camera so no need for a separate power feed while the grey wire is a shield for the video signal. Much better picture quality and no interference. Wiring the PAM straight into the screen didn't work but at the drivers right foot kick panel is a circuit that you can splice the PAM into, very easy to do and works great. Also helped that the rear bumper has the markings on the inside where the sensors go so no measuring need.
Thanks mate for going into depth, enjoy the channel 👍
thanks for the positive comment, part 3 getting uploaded today😀
Yo brief removal trin strip's bonded screen removal clean-up of bonding locating lugs heating wire amps volts not worth time 2:25
oh ok
Had an ETC fault happen to my FG, the car war fine before i removed the air intake and then put it back on, didnt drive the car for months then when i started it the rpm would be higher than normal then go back down and if i shift into reverse quickly dash says ETC fault and it idles rough....just wondering if it just needs a clean or maybe the air intake wasnt done up tight enough, will give it a clean today and give an update
yer the sensors can really be annoying at times and if the throttle body has a lot of build up with carbon it can really change the revs, when you first start it the computer seems to over rev till it works out what you did with the cleaning, the lancer I did lately not on camera after cleaning the throttle body went to 1300 rps for a time and then settled back to prefect idle so yes let me know how you go
@entertainmentchanneloz1509 gave it a clean and the plugs for the sensors and seemed to work for me in this situation, thankfully no need to replace anything just yet
@@TheHartleyBoys thats awesome news, great reply and to hear that too cheers
@@TheHartleyBoys sounds like a great result well done!
If you go to all the effort to take the lights out of the car just buy New lights .
that is an option for sure, but if not swapping lights there can be reasons to remove both lights anyway so hope to help for other reasons :)
I had a fun time doing a BA XL ute from tub swap to try. Fun times and exploring the underneath whats the chassis looking like and placing a tray on it. 😂
yer there a lot more basic underneath and easy to run wires :) I found, what made you go from tub to tray?
@@entertainmentchanneloz1509 I was going to be a subcontractor, but ended up not doing so, because the tray was not how I intended. Plus the wire was bodged up and no cruise control so I ended up changing it back to tub and had to re source the brake light loom. Which I did not know it was plug and play for the brake lights itself. So it was my mistake to bodging up the loom to run random LED's that weren't even allowing Cruise to be enabled and hyperflash of indicators. I've learnt my mistake from that. My tray I purchased did come with brake light. But 1 side was gone and forgot to ask if they had the loom with it.
@@radoa4 far out so sounds like you went through a few dramas with the change over, it is good how they have plug and play with the rear lights though, appreciate your comment and reply
@@entertainmentchanneloz1509 yeah, but was not so much, it was fun exploring what it looked like from underneath and what can be done with the tub off and tray on. I changed my mind within 3 months. Rego did expire on whilst tray remained on. Then prior to re registering it. I still kept the tub, changed from the tray back to tub and before placing tub back on, I re sourced the loom and plugged it and bolted every original thing to its standards and got it re registered and then got rid of it. Was bit of a mess with the engine itself and the spark plugs were not aligned to its screw, so it is overthreaded and the spark plug remained in there and I had no chance in taking out the sparky in some of the cylinders. So I had no chance / time in getting it sorted anymore. Now I just got my XR6 BF sedan still nice cruiser to drive =). Ah its all cool for the replies. I like DIY vids and your 1 reminded me of when I was doing a tray job from a tub back ute haha =). Great outcome on your set up though.
@@radoa4 well you certainly went through some things on yours, i came across cross threaded spark plugs before and that is a job in itself, there is one things with cars that we own that there a project all on there own especially when you dont know the history of them and who has worked on them, some funny things you can come across, i really appreciate you finding time to watch my video and hope it helped you in some way, thanks for your informative comment and great reply cheers!😀
Hey mate, did u just cute the old plug off and wire the new lights straight in to the existing cables? Cheers
yep straight in, don't stress its not a hard thing to do either. let me know how u go
Thanks for posting this. Just about to tackle one myself so this is very helpful. Also looked at the Ozito hammer drill today and noticed you’ve got one in number 2. Can’t go wrong with Ozito. Cheaper than hiring and you get to keep it! Thanks again.
appreciate your comment and feedback, i got a few more to come in the make over too so stay tuned, let me also know how you go with yours cheers..
Just get to the point
yer i hear ya :)
How do i post pic of the steering Auto colum shift on this?? Cheers😂
i dont think you can? on chat
What is the difference between the xg ute columb shift & other xg colum shifts. Can i fit this into my gli wimodifications ??
all xg columns should be the same as long as there autos and then if there manuals there best swapped with another manual version.
Was the fog light globes h11 globes
as far as i recall yes
I have 2 BA utes I use for work, and in one I’ll put an Aerpro fascia I have here and the other one I’ll fit one of these. I’m really only doing it because I can’t find a decent yellow screen ICC, and once it’s swapped I’ll fit a Bluetooth adapter. I’ve been told the unit I have is an XR6 one that illuminates blue and I have an XR cluster in one car so the blue lights would be good. It’s strange because I was told to use my blue BCM with the ICC which is exactly the same as yours. Strange.
great comment, yer they can be up and down for sure, I am just happy the problem got sorted and hopefully can help others out if they go through the same thing, appreciate your story too with having to Ba utes too :)
Why didn’t you siphon the fuel out of the tank from the filler?
thats another way to do it :) appreciate your reply
The car is now unroadworthy. There is a cover plate in the Ute tray for removal of the fuel tank
ok :)
Hey why mine is not moving from the step in which it says 'preparing... please wait.'? Please tell me!😢
best thing i can say is try what i did and hope that helps :) thanks for watching
@@entertainmentchanneloz1509 it freezes there just keeps loading and loading. For 5 hours I waited and nothing happened.

Hi mate. After years of wanting a colour screen I finally did this exact conversion. There is no way I could have done it without your series of videos! Thanks for posting 👍
and your reply uplifted me and my efforts and I really appreciate what a positive comment and result thanks heaps!👍
Which sensor is bak 1 sensor 2. Is that the one closest to exhaust
The O2 sensors are mounted in the exhaust system of the car, with Sensor 1 located before the catalytic convertor. Sensor 2 is mounted in the exhaust stream and is located after the catalytic convertor.
Did you need a code for that security code warning or did it just sort its self out?
i think it may still come up just havent worked on it since them, i will be making a video in the coming future using forscan on it
Couldn’t you get the power to the camera from the number plate light for the extra power?
possible have you tried?
@@entertainmentchanneloz1509no I haven’t, half way through running the wires. Can seem to locate a plug, but I did get 3 wires that iv plugged in individually. But when iv put it into reverse the screen Didnt go blank like yours did. As yours did with nothing wired up correct? Maybe it’s the plug that does it . Just was hoping it would have gone blank so I’d know if I was on the right track lol

Hey would you be able to help me find out what my engine is actually out of? Engine number in that location is JGCM5E 45661 ? Most info I have found out is that it’s out of a Ute
are you in victoria, most likely vicroads will have this info but see them in person :)

I have a car that is written off.had a major problem on suspension.and im still thinking if i get it be fixed or sell the parts.im worried about VIV inspection.what happened on VIV inspection of you car?
did you watch my earlier video on vivs?
Mate this video helped out a lot you're a legend. Just wanted to ask about the 15 year old car work around. Do you know if this would work if the cars never had a viv inspection and would you know if it would work if the car was recently put on the write off list as a repairable write off
once 15 years have passed and its never been booked in for a viv you will not need one, just dont book it in and appreciate your comment and view :)
Hi, did your screen always go the camera black screen or did this only happen once you plug the connector in?
only what you saw happen on this video as far as i recall it was once the connector was in not sure though
I keep getting etc fault after accidently putting it into reverse while car was still moving
sounds a bit weird is it doing anything else
Thank you for your help
hope it helped :)
How did you install the wire in the battery?
14:56 good question, at 14:56 I talk about what I was going to do but forgot to film it, I extended the positive and negative wires and ran the wires from one side of the car to the other, I will try and make another video to cover this, appreciate your comment!
I have a Makita reciprocating saw, never had any problems with it.
great news, as you could see had so many issues with this one, do you have a model number for the one you got? also this was a quick release version, I am sure there are ones you can secure in with say an Allen key and could be better?
