Hi @bernardmolloy6241 Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! It’s incredible to dive into the deep history of Irish mythology and the different groups that played a part in it. The Fomorians are often seen as the ancient stone age people of Ireland, representing the raw, untamed forces of nature. Their stories are some of the oldest in Irish lore and they really capture the wild spirit of the land. The Nemedians, who arrived around 2500 BCE, brought significant cultural changes with them. They’re believed to have come from the Pontic Steppe, introducing the Proto-Indo-European language to Ireland. It’s amazing to think about how these early migrations shaped the cultural and linguistic landscape of the region. Then we have the Fir Bolg, arriving around 2000 BCE from Southern Europe. They brought the Proto-Italo-Celtic language, adding yet another layer to Ireland’s rich history. Each wave of people added their own unique touch to the evolving story of Ireland. Your insights really help to highlight the complexity and richness of Irish mythology and history. Thanks for contributing to the conversation and sharing your knowledge! we hope you have an amazing day ❤️❤️

Thank you for your comment and for raising an important point. My channel focuses on sharing the rich and diverse mythologies as they have been passed down through generations, presenting them as stories rather than historical facts. Each Aboriginal Nation indeed has its own unique creation stories, and I deeply respect that diversity. The aim of my content is to immerse viewers in the narratives and cultural richness of these stories, rather than providing a detailed historical analysis or educational breakdown. For viewers looking for a more fact-based approach, channels like @SeeUInHistory offer excellent content. My goal is to honor the storytelling tradition by sharing these myths in a way that captures their original essence and intent. Thank you for understanding and for your support. Have a great day 😁😁

Thanks for your question. The Rainbow Serpent is a fascinating myth that appears in many Aboriginal cultures across Australia. Different tribes have their own unique takes on the story. Here are some of the tribes and regions where this myth is particularly important: - Yolngu People (Northern Territory): They call it Ngalyod or Julunggul. - Gagadju People (Kakadu National Park): Known as Almudj. - Warlpiri People (Central Australia): Referred to as Wititj. - Bundjalung People (New South Wales): They know it as Wonnarua. - Noongar People (Southwest Australia): Called Wagyl or Waagal. - Arrernte People (Central Australia). - Luritja People (Central Australia). - Tiwi People (Tiwi Islands). - Wiradjuri People (New South Wales). - Kamilaroi People (New South Wales). My narrative is influenced by stories from the Warlpiri and Yolngu. These tribes have such rich and diverse traditions that highlight the importance of the Rainbow Serpent in their cultures. I really aim to honor these stories by sharing them in a way that captures their original essence and cultural richness. Moving forward, I'll make sure to add where my inspiration comes from in the video descriptions. Thanks again for your interest and for engaging with these incredible myths! ❤️❤️

@@MythMinimus Also I don't think you can claim to capture the essence and intent if you don't understand the entire span of Aboriginal spirituality and initiation, their cosmology and circular conception of time. Especially if you have not met them. I feel out of respect for them you should not change slightly their story, you should present it as it is with a bibliography.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I understand and respect your perspective on the importance of accurately presenting Aboriginal spirituality and mythology. Please know that I put a lot of research into the stories I share; I spend days researching these narratives and try to understand as much about these cultures as I can. While it’s impractical for me to meet with every culture personally, I strive to honor these stories by presenting them with respect and care. Our ancestors shared stories from wherever they traveled, focusing on the importance of the messages and cultural aspects rather than the specific origins. My aim is to bring these rich mythological stories to a wider audience, sharing the inspiration they’ve brought to my life. This method is how I will continue to present myths on my channel. Myths* AND EVERYTHING ELSE, that we could term 'data' Including sensory And rational-conceptual Starts to make sense if AND ONLY IF It is it is looked at metaphorically AND metaphysically Because the 'physycal' is a metaphor for the 'metaphysical'. Yes? * Myths; paradoxes; intuition/feeling- as close as it gets, to knowing?

I like the idea that myths are just "truths" that we've forgotten. Your comment really got me thinking! It sounds like you're saying that all kinds of data, whether it comes from our senses or our logical thinking, only really make sense when we look at them metaphorically and metaphysically. I find it fascinating to think of the physical world as a metaphor for something deeper.I also love your point about myths, paradoxes, and intuition being our closest way to real knowledge. It feels like you're suggesting that to truly understand the world, we need to go beyond just the literal and physical. How do you think we can apply this way of thinking in our everyday lives?

I had never heard of this before, I'm not too keen on Irish mythology either. After a little research I found the Annals of the Four Masters, listing the reigns of those mentioned in the lore. Most are in the height of the Bronze Age (1800-1300 BCE). This period is also when most of the world is calling the native Greeks "Danaan." Today we call them Mycenaeans, but they were certainly sea-faring and may have reached "Britannia.". I also realize this word, Danaan, has an Irish/Gaelic meaning as well.

In this version, Marduk, a powerful god, rises to defeat the chaos dragon Tiamat and creates the world from her body. This story was central to the Babylonian New Year celebrations and highlights the themes of chaos, divine power, and cosmic order. The The Enuma Elish is a Babylonian creation myth that was written by ancient Babylonian priests. It dates back to the late second millennium BCE and was composed to honor the god Marduk. The myth was inscribed on seven clay tablets in Akkadian cuneiform script. While the exact authors are unknown, it reflects the religious and cultural beliefs of Babylonian society during that time.
