I agree, they should have kept the split gameplay. Make the Sharpclaws a group of space pirates and have General Scales gather the remnants of Andross' army after his defeat in 64. He uses that army to invade Dinosaur planet and take over Krazoa palace, using the ancient energy from the planet's core to power up and shield a space cannon/spaceship with which he could take over the entire Lylat system. Then, like you said, the Fox gameplay would revolve around fighting the Sharpclaws in space in his arwing and the Krystal gameplay would take place on the planet, collecting the spellstones and spirits to put back the seal on the planet's core and cut off the power supply to the Sharpclaws base's shield. Then put some lore around either the Kamerian dragons or the Krazoa god tricking Scales and Krystal in order to obtain the planet's energy to revive themselves and boom, you have the best of both worlds between the classic Starfox experience and a Zelda like adventure/puzzle game.

I am in the camp of not liking this game. However, i love when games branch out and try new things. I love Zelda and Zelda -type games. To give credit where it's due, the game is definitely a showcase for graphics on the GameCube and it still holds up today. I also thought that the Arwing sections handled super well! When i tried to go through this game, it was the combat that killed it for me. It was such a major slog to get through every enemy because of it consisted of just mash the 'A' button. Hitting different directions does add flair, but it would have been nice if enemies were weak to certain types of attacks (staff thrusts or overhead swings and whatnot). I played the game in hopes of learning more of Star Fox lore but fighting enemies really knocked the wind out of my sails. Though i don't like the game, i like that it pushed the series forward. I would totally support a sequel or even a remake/rerelease in some form. I've been a fan of the series since the SNES. The Star Fox series deserves more attention! Thanks for the video! I enjoyed it 😁

The most likely reason for Star Fox Adventures' existence is so that the Xbox would never get a Zelda clone that could outperform The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Sometimes, one has to wonder if Dinosaur Planet would sell well on Xbox.

@X2011racer3 күн бұрын
@gregorioguerrero1124 However! The game became Star Fox Adventures before the auction to purchase Rare Ltd. began or even concluded. By the time it concluded with Microsoft winning the auction in 2001, Star Fox Adventures was too far into production to cancel all progress, unlike Donkey Kong Racing, which didn't even begin development at all. Hence why the project had to be rushed and released before Rare was set to start work with Microsoft in 2002. Had Nintendo not interfered and Dinosaur Planet remained as is, the project would have been postponed after moving to GameCube so that the conversion to Xbox would take place after the buyout.
