When I became a mother it changed my entire life. It had me dreaming bigger than I ever had and I realized that if I was going to raise my children telling them to do whatever they want in this lifetime, that I had to demonstrate that to them.
So here I am. Fully retired myself at 25 years old to live out my dreams, raising my babies (never missing a moment), trying to live the most self sufficient life that we can and creating my own story through being an entrepreneur, helping others to live the life they want as well!
I am asked regularly how I live a self sufficient lifestyle, while raising my babies and being my own boss, so I thought I would bring you along on the journey. The purpose of this channel is to show you that with a small step towards a plan every single day, your life can and will be exactly how you want it to be!
Subscribe to see all the areas in our self sufficient life. From chickens to gardens, landscaping, food making, prepping and more!

It looks like they are fertilizing the lawn. It is good fertilizer for your gardens also. Let it sit for a while then add it.
I water-bathed carrots, & yheyvturned iut PERFECT. I used chicken broth instead of water. It made the flavor of those carrots pop! One of the easiest canning projects I’ve ever done. ❤️
oh I love this idea with broth!! YES
Wow, that looks Great! I think I'm going to add some Ricotta right before the noodles, then Mozz on top when the noodles are done. Or like you said, after you plate it, add the Mozz. Thanks for sharing, I never heard of Lasagna soup
I had never heard of it either and it was so good! How did yours turn out?
@@selfsufficientmompreneur I haven' tried it yet, but I sure plan on it. Probably in the fall, (I'm in New England)....when we as a family get together a little more, kids, Grandkids, and now a Great Granddaughter....and she is just that, so great. She's 11/2 now, and a comedian, unbelievable. Anyway, my Italian son-in-law will certainly love that dish. Again, thank you for sharing...keep those great recipes coming. And stay Blessed & in the peace of God
What a great idea Kaily. Those Lentils are super good for people too! Any kind of sprouts are so so healthy, they are quick to produce, and in a emergency/prepper situation, those micro-greens can sustain all "creatures". lol Have a great day! Stay Blessed!
youre sooooo right! great to have on hand!
Kaily, do Not let trolls discourage you whatsoever. They will comment and be negative on every video. You young lady, are doing the right things, by helping and encouraging others to live the right way...God's way. He says "Come out from among them"....meaning, we don't follow big Corporations, or the cabal-driven FDA, who allows big Corps to poison our food, mis-label food on purpose, lie and allow garbage to be fed to our children....for generations now. Do not get discouraged. You are doing mankind a wonderful service. In Europe, they water-bath everything...they don't go by an FDA standard way. That's like trusting Big Pharma, The Feds, and Big Brother...no thanks. God Bless you. I pray my Grand daughter, who has my 1st Great Grand child, has a change of heart...soon. And I pray she decides to grow and feed her family all the wonderful things God gave us for our stay on earth. You keep being you
Amen. Wel said!! I’ll never PC. NEVER….
OMG they have sprouted so much! Thanks for sharing and I’m the first person reviewing! Watching from USA ❤
They grew super quick! It was awesome to do!
I'm going to try this! Thanks from Washington State
I think you'll be surprised! It worked!!!!
I live much further north in MN and have never had a problem as severe as you do. I've grown Broccoli before, but have not had that many or that much damage. When I cut the Broccoli to bring in and wash it, there's very few worms and I can just fish them out in the water. What ones are left are killed in the boiling water for parboiling it. I tried that very expensive pest protection material once and about a month or so later it was all in shreds from the wind! Never again! I hope I never have as much damage or problems w/these pests as you do though.
I dont have any heads formed yet, only the leaves. This spray worked and I have not seen any worms since! Praying I still have an amazing harvest
Those squiggly things on your garlic are scapes ... which when they mature will form garlic seeds. If you dont cut off the 'scapes' your garlic wont form garlic cloves of 'any' size. They only form on 'hard neck' garlic and should be cut off as soon as possible. The fresh cut scapes are very good in salads. ;-)
I opened one up to see what it looked like and MMMMMM I can see why people call them a delicacy! I have a couple garlic outside that I did like you said and cut the scapes off! Will be harvesting them soon and I have seeds from scapes from last year also ill be planting this fall
Dang was hoping for a quick follow up worked didn’t work at end of video.
It WORKED! WOHOOOO I sprayed them down in this video, I saw 4 warms in the whole bed the next day so I used the extra and sprayed them all down again and now I havent seen any since! Give it a try! Its working so far!
The cabbage worms devastated my entire crop of broccoli. I had to pull them. Hope your diy works.
Oh MAN! Im so sorry! Yes this worked!
In the United States, National Presto Industries, Inc. was founded in 1905 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where it designed and manufactured pressure canners (known at the time as “canner retorts”) for commercial canneries. The company, originally called Northwestern Steel and Iron Works, was a major producer of fifty-gallon capacity pressure canners. Subsequently, the company also began production of thirty-gallon canners for hotel use and soon thereafter developed ten-gallon models suitable for home canning. The company installed an aluminum foundry in 1915 for the specific purpose of manufacturing large-size pressure canners for home use.
This has not been safely tested. Please do t put other people in danger by teaching this.
If you don't feel comfortable with this method, please do not use it! We have been doing this type of canning for a while now, especially in my family and we are all alive and well. But absolutely, if you don't feel good doing this, by all means please DON'T!
Stop being a "karen", a complainer...leave this bright young woman alone, go somewhere else with your rotten-a** attitude. She made the disclaimer, if you would have been paying attention instead of looking for the bad in everything. We have one mouth and 2 ears for a reason. Sounds like you got much to learn lady
Informative thank you
Hi Kaily. How long will the potatoes last on the shelf??
Hi there! We are still using them since we made them, which was when I posted this video and they are good 🤩
Going to try them today. Thank you
You're so welcome! You will want them everyday LOL
Good morning Kaily enjoy your video you explain the recipe so good , thank you 💕
Youre so welcome! Let me know how your jam turns out if you try it <3
question is, why would you water bath for hours?? Why
Wonder why u boil lids? What's the vinegar do?
sterilize the lids and helps them seal better. Vinegar creates a lower PH and increases the acidity of the food
Hi Kaily. Just subbed to you channel. Love and kindness from South Australia.
Awe thank you! So glad you're here! All the way from South Australia! Amazing!
Love the way you’re pleasant and straight to the point. I had to subscribe.

Love it, short, sweet and well easy to follow. Thank you
you are more than welcome!
Is it possible you do a updated video showing you opening a jar and using them on their own and eating them or using them in a recipe. I would just love to see how they turned out after the fact 6 months later. They look wonderful and you can bet I'm going to make these come fall!! Thanks so much for the easy to follow step by step turtorial it is much apprecaited!!
I just used a jar the other day and they were perfect! I never even thought to record it but I definitely can!
@@selfsufficientmompreneur thank you I look forward to seeing that video. I'll subscribe so I don't miss out!! :)
@@dreamdesign2022 once i use them I will post the link to the video here also! Thank you for the sub!
@@selfsufficientmompreneur thank you for the update :)
Excellant. What kind of oil did you use?
I used vegetable oil! But I want to get avocado oil
Do you have a vid on water bathing chicken?
I have never done chicken but I am excited to learn how to!
I missed how much vinwgar and salt , about a tespoon of vinegar ? Half a teaspoon of salt?
1 TBSP Vinegar 1 TSP Salt
Are they cooked or do you stkll have to cook them when opened?
They are cooked. When I open them ill fry them with some onions, or ill put them in water and boil them just to be hot then mash them!
We love Epicure products, haven't had anything we didn't like.
Thanks.....BTW....those that oppose water bath canning for potatoes, ignore the fact that several generations used this method, without problems. This is how European countries can.....for the most part. They do not have access to pressure. canners. The most important thing is to clean everything well. Sanitize jars and lids. Cut out bad spots. Water bath for your recommended time. Well done. You can water bath can green beans as well. Using the proper ratio of vinegar and water inside of the jar.
Amen! Thank you!
How does ur mashed taters taste?
delish!
Nice Job!!! ❤
Thank you so much! I am so proud and cannot wait to see what they look like once they are full of vines!
As a beginner at building a garden I want to say, great job! Also kudos for being able to do something I could never do, and be on camera to guide us through this project. Keep it up!
@@theish78 we can all do hard things love! Practise makes perfect and im here doing this so you can follow along :) Ive got you! Cheering you on! Every step is a step forward
Do you waterbath everything, I don't have a pressure canner?
Yes! I only have a water bath canner! Ive never invested into a pressure canner
Less expensive pressure canner at Walmart. 16 quart around $80 with tax
You should air layer your trees. The success rate is much higher..80-90%. You can actually watch their root growth while it’s still be supported by the mother tree. The air layer will be an exact clone of the mother tree and will take 1-2 years to fruit. After it roots & gets cut off from the mother tree (6-8 weeks), plant it but cut off any flowers its first year so it focuses on building a strong root system in the ground. You can find many videos on KZread, but here’s a video short so you understand the basic process.

This is cool info! Thank you
You better start a few hundred because you will get below 1% with this method with apple and pear trees.
hahaha learning as I go! Its been about a week now and they are looking good and now blooming! I hope it works
hi kaily, thanx a lot for all the videos, thank u for the video, can we hot-bath can ranch dip & Greek tzatziki dip? 🙏
Hmm I recently looked into this to try with my fruit trees. All the advice I saw was to keep the cuttings between 4-8 inches long at most. I think this is because the plant has to use it's energy to grow roots rather than sustaining a big long branch. That being said, I'm pretty sure I already killed my cuttings by over watering. So. What do I know lol. I'd be curious to know how yours do. Good luck!
I love this! I am on two days I think now of them being potted and they are still alive and well. I did notice the pear tree blossoms to be wilting a bit, but they all look healthy and alive and well still! I defiantly will keep you updated on the turn out! Praying it works, how awesome would that be?
Why don't you put the quantity of each ingredients????? It's not very helpful the way it is. Barb S.
I have all the ingredients laid out and tell you starting at 0:48! I hope this helps
2 lbs ground meat of choice 4-5 cloves garlic 1 med onion 1 can diced tomatoes 1 can pasta sauce 4-5 leaves cilantro 10-12 leaves basil 4 cups beef broth seasonings of your choice Add in 6-8 lasagna noodles
@@selfsufficientmompreneur Don't kiss this women's complaining a**. Not worth it. Ignore ignore ignore them
How long will they last
Very hard to hear u my dear ! I even had my daughter listen sorry
oh no!! On my end the video is okay. Weird
How much vinegar would you use if you were using pint jars
You should always use a pressure canner to can potatoes. You're putting you're family at risk for botulism poisoning! Potatoes are a low acid food! All low acid foods need to be canned under pressure!
If you dont agree with this method, please dont use it. I suggest everyone to always do what they feel best doing
you do not have to cover the jars with water, that is over kill, just fill to the height of the product.
i do because it evaporates quickly :) Whatever works best for you! So happy to hear that you can!
Hun keep making videos. Not everyone can afford a canner. Not everyone can buy a new lid every jar. My thinking is...with a new lid every jar. I am paying about .50 each jar plus the cost of the food in it. If i can buy a can of it for close to that. I would just by the grocery store version. But if im trying to presrve my garden harvest. I will can or freeze or use an used commerical jar with a lug lid. These people act like we wont see the top unpopped. If its contaminated that is a major flag right?
I agree
What would be the water bathing time if using smaller jars, i.e. pint jars rather than quarts? As a single person I would not want to open and have to use up such a big jar of carrots. Also can this method be used for other vegetables like green beans etc.
Yes, it can be used on other vegetables, but the water bath time does not differ based on the size of the jar and that is according to @makeitmake which is where I learned this method
New sub - thanks for this video!
Thanks for the sub! You're very welcome
Why tighten the lids after they come out of canner?
not sure lol! How my grann taught me! You can also take them off from what I have now learnt!
Answer: before the 2 piece flats and rings, there were zinc lids requiring a rubber ring. Lid on just tight enough to keep water out during processing. They let the jars rest about 30 seconds then tighten the lids. The reason for the “rest” was to let the last of pressurized air to escape. The same for the glass lid, rubber ring with the bail wire closure. My mom used both types of jar lids. Meaning: by the time you got the last jar out of the boiling water, it was time to tighten the lid, or adjust the bail to closed position. Water bathed everything. Died from doctor error at age of 97. I think the new “tattler lids” operate on the same principle. All 3 ways the lids and rubber and lids can be used many times before the rubber rings need to be replaced. Correct me if I’m wrong about this. I grew up helping mom do her canning. I’m still here at 75 yrs😊
How much vinegar and salt. Did I miss that? Going back. lol
Thanks Kaili great video ❤ I don’t trust any government agency . They have proven them selves untrustworthy and dishonest. We all need to grow what we can and preserve for hard times coming🙏👋👋👋👋🙏🙏🇺🇸
1000000000% I wish I could hand you a megaphone to say it louder 🙌
Totally agree and I'm.not even living in America, my own govt is not trustworthy either.
That looks absolutely scrumptious!
OMG It was amazing! Way too much bacon in the cream cheese part, I would totally do what the recipe said next time and only do half like I was supposed to LOL
a little bit of beet juice from a can of beets gives them a nice purplish color :)
Yes! I ate all the beets last night and kept the juice! Im going to do that! Thank you 😉
