  • @dallasarnold8615

    Not bad. But definitely dangerous. If I were you, I would weld a plate vertically to the deck in front of the engine as a shield to protect both you and the engine. That monster could easily hurl some debris straight at you. For any others I suggest a mower with a belt drive. That way if you hit something too big, instead of bending the crankshaft, it will only be the blade or the arbor. But I do like this inexpensive approach.

  • @ranflee1
    @ranflee16 күн бұрын

    Yes it is dangerous. I was thinking of some kind of shield. My biggest concern was it was spitting out 1 and a 1/2 saplings out the the back. Was worried one was going to catch me in the ankle. Not to concerned about the engine though. Will use it as long as it last. I have more.

    I got a New Mower from Walfart a few years ago.. It Lasted 1 Month before the frame Rotted Away All the Way around in that Dip Part where the Engine Mounts to and the Engine Fell Down... Good thing it was not running when it did. Every Mower I got from Walfart, the Engines Die and can Never be started again after just 2 full mowings of 1/4 Acre. They started using Plastic Carbs and the Carbs Melt and Rot or Gum the F' Up because of the Heat and the Alcohol in the Gas... What ever happened to those GOOD Mowers, where you could leave them sit all Winter and next Spring, Prime it a few times and Starts right up after 1-3 Pulls? And Not Rot and drop a engine? The ones that Lasted 10 Plus Years? The Kind that could Actually Handle Grass 3ft High No Problem and Not Bog down on stuff 6in High like Walfart ones? Even with a Brand New SHARP Blade.. Ones where it's actually Worth it to take in and Tuned up or worked on, on those Rare occasions where you did have to take them in? Now it Cost more to Tune/Fix it up than it does just to buy a new one... Oh that's Right... Greed!

    Thank you for the great video! I was just about to toss my lawnmower in the trash until I did this. This was a Father's Day gift from my boys. Ran out of gas, put in clean gas, and then it died. The only thing I would be careful with is the float metal rod, it falls off easily if you remove it. Thanks again!

    Yep. Worth fixing. Most break early, so the cylinder is in good shape. No, I do not own one. Yes, I have fixed one. Punch out the tank filter and insert a filter in in the fuel line. You are welcome. And stop dumping gas into the carb. Use spray can of acetone (carb cleaner). 1. empty all tanks and cans at the end of season put it in your car to get rid of it 2. Use a good sealing can, keep the air out = no moisture. 3. Use berrymans or seafoam in the gas along with regular maintenance it'll fire up every year.
