Modern Homemaker

Modern Homemaker

Hi everyone, my name is Alejandra but you can call me Alex!
My life took a 360 spin the moment I got married and went from a quiet life in the suburbs at my parents house, to having my own rental at a big city (Madrid, Spain) with all the responsibilities and opportunities I never had before.
It is my belief that no matter the budget, there is always a way to transform our lives to be better, starting with the spaces that we live in!
That being said, it is my pleasure to share the many projects that I'm using to transform my life on a budget with everyone who is brave enough to see that having a dream-life depends only on how brave you are to pursue your intuition and ideas; to create something no-one has made before.

    I just find it contemptible to name it as Chanel bag. With all CC markings in it. Nice people have skills, but let's make a difference between home made and CC made. Let's not brand those the same either.

    Forjust being glued together, that looks super stout. However, you defintiely want to predrill and screw every wood connection for any sort of pheasible structural integrity. For the super wide pieces, you can get a pocket hole screw jig, OR, just drill holes and use wood cut offs as pegs. Will take a lot more time but you will get a lot more longevity and can still be done to what you have right now. Looks great tho

    We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. kzread.infoUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.

  • @modernhomemaker

    Absolutely 🤩 the only holes that go all the way through are the ones on the middle of the inner legs, the rest go only half way through so that you can connect the legs together with the poles. Let me know if you need anything else!! Hope your stepdaughter loves it 😁

    How much would you charge for one of this drafting tables? Thanks :)

  • @modernhomemaker
    @modernhomemaker2 жыл бұрын

    I like to calculate what I charge using this formula: cost of the materials materials (paid up front) + cost of the hours of work. I didn’t pay anything for the materials, since it came from old pallets, so I’ll do about 8-10 dollars per hour of work and I think it would come out around 200€?

    Do you have the measurements drawn out in a PDF? I love this! I plan & build everything in our family and I'm a mom of 4, our kids are all nearly grown. So not young! It's fantastic to see another woman building great things! You can even frame walls(!) with pallets by the way.

    Me gusta mucho el diseño :D Yo le habría puesto fondo a la parte de los cajones. No cambiaría la apariencia pero le daría más rigidez al conjunto. Creo que aun puedes añadirlo simplemente clavandolo con clavos pequeños...

    @@modernhomemaker ¿qué tanto sobresalen las correderas? ¿más del espesor de la placa trasera? Porque tu que eres buena con la madera y sus subproductos puedes hacerles unos nichos en la placa y nunca se van a ver...

    Las tapas que compré son como de 4mm? Es lo mismo que use para hacer los fondos de las gavetas, pero sobresalen las correderas comooooo eso justamente? Creo que quedaría como un huequito 👀 sería visible pero como es la parte de atrás caoaz tampco importa tanto
