    Hats off to you. There are many men on KZread doing projects like this in elaborate workshops using thousands of dollars worth of tools. Great design! You’re a real “go getter”

    Using your video and sketches, built one of these tables as a Christmas gift for a friend. Turned out real nice; I used 1x3 premium pine boards instead of pallet wood. Thank you for the idea and video.

    We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. kzread.infoUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.

    Heck yeah! It is very impressive that you built a really great piece of furniture without using a carpenter's square or a level. Tip 01: Use a reciprocal saw with a fine tooth metal cutting blade to cut the nails between the board and the pallet beam then you can hammer them out with a punch. Tip 02: Attach a strip of metal to the support arms and a magnet to the table bottom so that the support arms automatically attach when folding for storage. Tip 03: Glue a strip of wood about an inch from the bottom of the table top so your pencil or jigsaw pieces don't slide off. VARIATIONS Dining table: Glue a piece of grade A birch plywood to the top Drawing table: Frame a sheet of 3/8 glass to the top to create a smooth hard working surface. Just keep in mind that glass is heavy and will detract from the portability of the table. Workshop table. Do nothing. It is perfect just the way it is.

    This is just what I’ve been looking for, you created a wonderful design. I’m going to make mine out of some recycled wood from old furnature. Your woodworking skills are awesome, I have lots of machines for woodworking but I think I’m going to use only the basic tools as you so elegantly demonstrated in this build.

    Forjust being glued together, that looks super stout. However, you defintiely want to predrill and screw every wood connection for any sort of pheasible structural integrity. For the super wide pieces, you can get a pocket hole screw jig, OR, just drill holes and use wood cut offs as pegs. Will take a lot more time but you will get a lot more longevity and can still be done to what you have right now. Looks great tho

    Hi Monica!, I have a question, is there a difference between crystal and wood draft table?

  • @modernhomemaker

    @modernhomemaker

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes sure! There are many diferencies, for instance, glass drawing tables can be heavier since they tend to have metal structures. Wood table tops on the other hand can be very light (depending on the type of wood) but can be easily scratched and become annoying to draw on... but even most plastics or poliacrylic gets scratched if you are not careful with the exacto knifes and stuff. I think it’s a matter of the type of use, and the space that you have 🥰

    I like to calculate what I charge using this formula: cost of the materials materials (paid up front) + cost of the hours of work. I didn’t pay anything for the materials, since it came from old pallets, so I’ll do about 8-10 dollars per hour of work and I think it would come out around 200€?
