I have has several E30s from 318s to M3s. I've stuck S50/S52 engines in them. It absolutely transforms the car while still keeping it factory reliable. AC, quite, and awesome. That mod is getting harder to do ($$$), but worth saving up for.

Great progress. If you want a small win and make it feel more finished pick up some plates for your outlets. Helps with preventing shocks too. Super cheap and minutes to accomplish.

Been enjoying this series. Thanks. Flashing tape on the bottom edge of the windows isn't necessarily a good idea as it can help trap any water in that gets behind the window. I wouldn't worry about it now that's it done. Just saying for the next time you do a window think about not sealing the bottom flange in. Cheers keep up the good work.

Someone did his research, hats off to you. Bilstein is basically the best you can get without going individually configurated in Germany. Meaning building your suspension piece by piece with Öhlins dampers and HR springs for example. But for crushing very curvy, bumpy and three dimensional country roads here you won't find better. They are not the go-to track option, but that's not their aim. Absolutely the best option for road use in any german car. Had the KW V3 in the TT and it is no match for the Bilstein B16 in damping demanding roadsurfaces and doing the best split between comfort and performance.

I’m having my 225 valve cover gasket and cam adjuster solenoid assembly/gaskets being replaced cause of small oil leak at 90k miles they are charging me $3,075 I feel like I’m getting robbed. 1610 for gaskets and solenoid and 1190 for 7 hours labor? Does that sound right to you? I took it to high end Audi aftermarket/oem shop who do a lot of tuning and stuff so they are the best and expensive though. I’m feeling like I need a newer model. My 04 225 is one of the best examples around you will see I’m thinking I could get at least 15-20k for it with a lot of aftermarket but oem look to it all done by high end shops. Me and original owner have over 30k into this car over 20 years

Getting a car painted is about 5000€ these days in Germany. Double what it cost 5 years ago. I think our handymen are becoming a bit full of themselves. If I were to increase the cost of car and boat transports by that measure, I would have no customers anymore. Most people don't want to pay my prices as they are, unchanged for 7 years now. Not to mention my main occupation as a financial advisor. Imagine more than doubling my wage out of the blue with the argument: "everything has become more expensive!". It would show that I know nothing of my profession. Peoples calculations are so far off, it's almost like they didn't need to pay 15.000€ for their masters title learning economics. Masters title as a plumber or electrician that is. Not talking about studied engineers.

Bit late now but I removed the stock turbo three times without removing the manifold. Don't ask what my forearms and hands were looking like, but it worked. The next time I lay hands on this turbo, is to swap it for something really nice. But for now, after 5 years owning the TT, we can finally use it for the first time properly.

A pcv system and catch can are different. All the pcv does is control pressure in the block. A catch can does the same plus separate oil and water vapors from going back to the combustion chamber. A catch can is an upgrade and completely replaces the pcv system.

I must recommend a GMT355 Colorado/Canyon/Isuzu i-series for shop truck. One of few affordable fairly modern pickups that comes with a manual transmission. Some have a 5 cylinder that can sound mildly vintage audi-like with a little effort. Lots of aftermarket so it can't get boring :)

Very nice to use a version of Gustav Holst' Planetsuite, great taste as always 👍🏻 About the toolbox, the same here. I thought it'd be nice to get order and structure into all the tools not in cases but fuck me so they want money for those mass produced often mediocre quality sheet boxes. So instead of one toolcart, I bought parts for 4 cars
