Had to watch it a few times before I realized those that said net was touched outside the antenna are right. Point to blocking team!
Very very very close to what came first, down ball or net. If replay is so close not to determine I go down ball first.
No….no net….loose shirt.
Good call
Number 7 was carried/lifted the ball obviously.
Anyone else came here after making a bad call on a carry? lol. This is the only reason I’m here.
Are these rules true or are they all just lies, sweet little lies?
So can I just keep hitting their hands and make it go outside?
That is the most basic rule in volleyball 8 seconds and beach volleyball 5 seconds !! Few referees tolerate 1-2 seconds more but when it s very disturbing and too many of them... Not anymore.
These are the best videos to learn how to referee volleyball continue reading them in 2024.
So tall and so stupid... That would be the same power, same hit, same speed, same point and technics EVEN at 3m50 of the net... Why 2m99 of the net ??
Possible net fault, hard to tell with this large view. But absolutly a carried ball by thé player in red/black
I have no clue why it was called carry when it was blatantly a net touch
Correct call
can't see the mistake here, only the idiot player who can attack 3m high and is all the time touching the ball to the net...2x in less than 5 seconds. I would give him 5 red cars for his bad technic in such high level of game.
Very basic rules, referee 100% correct. I'm very surprised of such basic questions.
bad call. The touch he whistled was equivalent to the white team's hit on the immediately prior transition. Either both were lifts, or neither were.
Jesus loves us all thank you for this it was very helpful
Carry violation?
We don't know how the lib played the ball. The film quality is poor.
And he touched it
Lifts and doubles really shouldn't be interpreted using slow motion. The speed at which these things occur matters and not set or soft touch is ever perfect when zoomed and slowed enough. Good video showing the nuances though.
at 1:27, is the red player considerred as block or not ? if he hit the ball to the net and the ball still in his side, can he hit the ball again as the first hit ?
No net touch
If step on the line not over the line is still foul?
if i hit the ball and blocked by the opponents, the ball bounces into my body then can I touch it again ? If I can, will it be counted as 1 touch and my team only has 2 touches yet ?
Can you spike the ball down when 'blocking'
Or is that reaching beyond net
1:25 the line judge does not always see the block touch. Line judges are told by the 1st ref to only call a touch if we are absolutely 100% certain, otherwise, just show "in" or "out". The 1st referee will use our signal to inform their decision, but the 1st ref will primarily look at the 2nd ref to help determine if there was a touch or not.
Why? Why? Why? "Appropriate" "Read" and you should show the hand signals the 1st referee gives every time. And, why, WHY did you show 20 seconds of nothing during case 14 (6:30)? Honestly, it added nothing at all to the purpose of the video to see Sidão wiping off sweat, taking the ball and preparing to serve. Oh, and you're wrong for case 14. Russia was nowhere near the net during the attack. Brazil was at the net to block, but as Brazil won the point, it clearly wasn't a net or penetration under the net. it was just a simple "ball in" call, because the attack was in the net and hit the ground. And you forgot to make chapters for the first two cases; they are included in the Intro.
Good video but there was no signal of double, carry, back line foul, it could have been more helpful
My coach once said that if clothing touches the net it is a fault, but if hair touches the net it is not, so in my opinion this would be a fault
It's kind of hilarious seeing these 7ft monsters pull this crap. We should just ban open hand tips like in beach rules. Open hand tips are also terrible for the spectator experience too.
I still don’t understand the ruling. I thought it had to do with the ball entering the plane of the net. I believe the call is correct.
Libero action can not be considered set because it is a reflex defensive reaction (possibly played also with knuckles) and there is no clear setting action. However, nowhere menitoned carry on the third (attacking) touch is a big issue.
No Fault👍
For me, I think it’s all good as long as the player is in mid-air. Cause if it’s a dual, both players gonna be pushing the ball against one another and the net will decide who the winner is.
I think it should be ok to carried if you’re in mid-air. Other than that, it should be illegal. Just like dunking is ok when you’re trying to block. But dunking is considered carried if you’re on the offense, so it doesn’t really make sense.
player 15 touches the net at 0:36 but outside the crossing sector, no fault.
There were like 3 carries lol at least the ref called it after each team got a shot to be fair
Simple. If your not smacking the ball your carrying it. Period. This type of overthinking is why I'm staying away
Referee: correct that is a basic fault and the USA guy should learn his rule again. He might think that touching in the same time would be ok but not in this case... Touching in the same time the ball in the opponent s court is another rule and not in this case at all.
What is the purpose of this video?
1:21 The player in red spiking the ball with the first touch, is that counted as a blocking play as well? if the spike fails and the ball hits the net on their own side and stays on red team's side, can the player touch it 2nd time and do the team red still have 3 touches? Or is that counted as attacking play and a 2nd touch under the net by the red's spiking player would be a fault?
It's an attack hit. According to FIVB casebook: "If a player, close to the net and reaching over the top of the net, hits the ball coming from the opponent, the action might be either block or attack hit. During the judgment, the position of the player’s hand(s) or other part of body should be counted, but the height of the ball is irrelevant. The player’s hit is considered as a “block”, if the player stretches reaching over the net to intercept the ball with one or two hands without a classical spiking/backswing movement."
Cheaters
It's afoul..bc he interfered with the opponents team inside their side of court
If the ball hit the ground before the hand touch the net, no fault, which is what it looked like. If the hand touched the net before the ball hit the ground, then net could should be called.
Ball already out of play
for me it's legal... what illegal for me is using your foot to save the ball..
You are a great handball player. Thanks for your assessment.
Not sure if you are still active but i have a question. If the opposite team send the ball back underhand (gently) on their third touch near the net. Is it a fault to have your arm in their space (Like blocking) and pushing it back down?
i think its legal as long as the ball leave the third touch completely and moving toward opposing area.
@@melonusk6120 Alright ! Thank you very much :D
