Fun little wizard - very creative design!
Thanks very much Stephen!
Good job Cuz!
Thanks! Much appreciated Cousin!
very good job!😊👍
Thanks very much!
Another great tutorial. Thanks much!!
Thanks Sall, I appreciate your support!
Why did you make your coat so long and eliminate most of the pant leg? You have a drawing and one that you carved to follow, why not follow them?
Hi Joe! Thanks for your question. I often decide to modify my original plan while carving. The reason varies due to wood grain direction, how I like the look, or in some cases I think about making the carving easier for a beginner carver. The drawing is just a conceptual idea not a pattern. Happy carving!
Love this
Thank you Gene!
Very cool, nicely done sir 👍👍👍
Thanks Mark I really appreciate that! Happy Carving!👍
That's a cool trick, I like how you 'gouged' the eyes, and it wasn't gross! Thanks for the tutorial cousin Jack!
My pleasure Cousin, thanks for watching!
I must say I was not seeing how the hand in the pocket with the shirt like that was going to work at first, but wow, it really came together after you rounded it all out! Quite a natural look for a banana man!
Thanks very much Brandon! I really appreciate your comment, happy carving!
Do you need to wear a mask when cutting this foam, I know you can buy also electric cutting tools to do so. This is I have read the dust from the foam due to its contents is extremely bad.
Thanks for your question. Wearing a mask is always an option. I did not wear one because I was carving with hand tools, not rotary tools like a Dremel. If I were using a Dremel I would definitely wear a mask. Happy carving!
Will you do the " Miss Banana"?
Hi! I don't have plans for anymore of the banana character videos. I appreciate your interest, thanks for asking.
How do you detail your carvings. It looks like you might be using the wood burner
Hi Don! Thanks for your question. Sometimes I use a wood burner, sometimes I use an antiquing medium, sometimes I use neither. It just depends on the look I’m going for.
Thanks I attempted one it didn’t turn out too bad I need to work on hands
@@donburnside6448 Hands can be tricky, that's why so many carvings have hands in the pockets. Thanks for your comment and happy carving Don!
Excellent! Thank you for sharing
My pleasure, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Good show stay safe
Thanks very much Rob!
Couldn’t find the kit
Hi Maxine, You can find the kit listed on the BeaverCraft.com website. After you go to the home page, click on "Products" and then "DIY Completed Kits". Happy Carving!
I am a new subscriber. This is the first video I watched. I really like what I have watched so far. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome to the channel! Thank you for subscribing and thank you for your kind comments, I really appreciate it!
I love the details in explaining THE PROCESS...I hope you follow with the painting 🖼 video....Thank you
Thanks very much Roberto! For this one I decided not to paint it. I applied some walnut oil and after several days I painted the eyes and that was it.
Fun carving! Very creative.
Thanks Stephen!
Here's my take-away, my banana's have 5 sides (yes I counted them) and I never even considered counting them before, so, thank you for that "teach"! Love your wonderful informative videos
Sounds about right, probably 70% of them have 5 sides. ❤️ Thanks for watching!❤️
Are you going to be doing the completion of the banana character?
Hi Don! Yes, I’m off from work this weekend so I hope to get it finished before Monday comes.
Excellent thanks ill keep an eye out
@@donburnside6448 Thanks Don!

I just ordered this carving kit !! :-) I'll try some spoons, but I really want to carve some kuksa cups with it !!! (4-14-24)
Kuksa cups are very popular. I've never carved one but I have carved several spoons after I got this kit. Happy Carving, and thanks for your comment!
Very nice tutorial!
Thank you! I just subscribed to your channel!👍
@@whittling you’re welcome! Thank you so much! 😊
Very helpful!
Thanks very much!
@@whittling no problem!
For a first time carving I find your videos are brilliant and easy to follow unlike some that talk for ages before showing how to do things
Hi Bill! I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying the videos and thank you for your kind comments!
I like your knife.
Thanks very much Len, it's my "go to" carving knife.
thank You. regards from Poland
My pleasure! Happy carving!
Thanks for the great video. I feel obliged as a Yorkshire man to mention the Yorkshire Pudding, which is not a dessert, it is normally eaten with gravy along with roast meat and vegetables. 👍🏻
My pleasure John! Yes, Yorkshire pudding adds a whole new level of confusion to the “pudding” issue. I’ve had Yorkshire pudding at the pub in Epcot (Disney World), it was pretty good!👍
Hey there new to the channel
Hello and welcome to the channel! Happy carving!
I have the spoon kit, and i added a gouge for my next project bowl carving. Very sharp out of the box. I strap after every carving, i want to keep the knives sharp with little sharpening time. Im still learning but having fun at the same time.
Hi William! Yes, the tools are pretty sharp right out of the box. I hope you've got a glove too because accidents can happen. Happy carving!
Yes, I wear a cut glove and cut tape.
@@williamvinci9837 Good idea.
