Thank you for your advice!! I bought a 70mm forged piston from SXParts and their 36/31 Big Valve Head and now my XR150L breathes 🔥 and can do 75mph with stock gearing. It can now power wheelie whereas before I had a hard time clutch-upping. I definitely recommend a big valve head.

I was sceptical about buying it but dam does this work ! The video was simple and I got the information I needed lol. I have 3 tubes on my road bike that punctured very very small ones. I can’t even find the hole. But I’m sure this will seal it super easy ! And in the end I’ll have 2 extra tubes sitting in my garage for any use.

Where are you at on the spectrum? Baby powder and a blanket for your new bike for 500 miles or redline burp it out of the box to warm up the oil and blow out the chinese factory grease? I think I am in the middle with I try to be nice for 100 miles and do an oil change at 100. Nice is tough to do though.

I had a 2015 DR200 as my first bike. I'm so glad I learned on it bc it's such a pain to ride. You better choose a good line bc you can't hop out of it. You better land a jump right because the suspension won't do you any favors. You better hit a hill climb in the right gear because you can't tractor up. I sold it after a year and got a DRZ. I feel like the DR200 taught me all the fundementals. Now offroading on the DRZ feels like cheating.

Great video. Did you kept the same oil filter on there? If so, what was the oil filter rated for? Since you are sucking oil back into the intake, check your PCV system, it may need cleaning to maybe replacing. In some engines the valve cover has to be replaced since the system are on those types.

Love my 06 klx125 (technically a suzuki 😉). Very tamed, but its got good power especially in that first gear when you need to crawl through some nastier terrain (I'm in the northeast where mud is our friend). The biggest pro of these 125 air cooled bikes is that they can suit the widest range of riders. Riders who enjoy a leisurely pace through the woods or desert will love these, while someone who rides hard in trails will find these very fun. Riders who do both will love them even more. When it comes to a 125, you have a lot of freedom as to how you want to ride it. They are hand down the ultimate play bike.

Oil change is the biggest fraud and deception of car and oil industries, where everyone has benefits except the driver. Trust me you could make 100k miles with that car with the same oil. If we can call it that way cuz you would need to replenish a little bit oil now and then. Fact is that every engine consumes oil and its perfetly normal thing. Only thing wat is important is regulary change the oil filter. Which basicly dont cost a lot and you can change it every 5-10 thousand miles.

And next year you might only get 40 miles. The next year maybe 35 miles etc…. That’s how they all work. It’s always been that way. If you want to get rich, invent a battery that doesn’t lose capacity from normal use and time. A battery with easy change DIY components like changing cells in a flashlight.

I bought one and loved it. It was insanely comfortable and smooth. Easy to manage and just FUN. The one issue I had was the lack of top speed. Or more the lack of top speed consistency. It would do 65 when I didn't really need it to and would only hold 50mph when I really really needed it to do 60. I decided it was time to upgrade to something that could hold 65mph to get me to the places I wanted to go. I bought a 2019 CRF250L ABS. The 250 definitely outperforms. HOWEVER, the CRF is like riding a cinder block, the throttle is very sensitive and frustrating and the fuel range sucks. I miss the XR sooooo much. I have major regrets. After doing some soul searching, I realized I dont need power and suspension travel. I need that lazy boy seat and smoothness. The CRF is now for sale and I'm shopping for a used XR150. 😂
