Honestly, matching APS-C lenses to the APS-C sensor has never been a priority for me at all, it's not like you are losing anything. An APS-C lens on an APS-C still has the same 1.5x crop factor

Had this 20-70mm lens, but traded in for PZ 16-35 f4. It is better for my ZVE1, especially when using Dynamic Active stab. The crop factor with ultra wide lens is awesome. I find PZ16-35mm produces sharper image than 20-70mm. I also love the zoom in button, which i use a lot for my video. I find myself rarely use the 60-70mm range. If i want to use a mid telephoto range that is only for bokeh and i have 50mm prime f2.8 macro as my second lens for that purpose. That is all my lens for the moment, which i find really useful for me.

As a owner of Zv-e1 I was so undecided between this lens and 16-35 f4. I bought 16-35 for the wider field of view but I'm missing 70 mm zoom. Anyway good review!

Great review! I have both cameras and I love both. One comment on overheating. I do interviews of tattoo artists. That includes taking a lot of b-roll of the artists working. While those clips are usually only around 10 seconds each, I will often be shooting these for more than an hour. I have experienced a couple of times, that the recording on the SD card slows down. I get a warning that the camera is ‘waiting to record.’ When I checked the SD card, it’s really hot. So I pause my recording to let it cool down. So while I don’t get any overheating message, it’s definitely still overheating. The FX30 is just such a workhorse and handles heat much better. Never had overheating issues.

This lens has great focal range. It’s always a trade off between a faster lens and focal range (size & weight), goals and where & how you will be using it. The 20-70 F4 is super sharp and in comparison to what it offers it’s a good deal and great travel lens. The F4 is only one stop and with Sonys ability the handle higher ISO it’s perfectly fine.

Sony could have easily made an a6700c like Canon with R5c, by including a fan in a6700 or a mechanical shutter in FX30, but they want you to buy both.

Absolutely meaningful comparison, but the S9 is availabre in red/green/blue and has no grip at all, it has the classic camera body design. The only competitors are the crazy expensive manual-focusing-only Leica M10 and M11, or the almost no grip Fujifilm X-T50. For S9 the fantastic looking, excellent performing Sigma i series prime lenses are available, for X-T50 you have similar lenses, that is the real competition.

@RobiulIslam-fo2vg yes, but you don't always have the ability to control the light. Personally, I shoot a lot of concerts, and the stage light is just there, there's nothing I can do to avoid this weird line effect, except for turning on the mechanical shutter :) So mechanical shutter is a big deal, when it comes to any kind of reportage photography

Exactly this, FX30 have a fan and a6700 have mechanical shutter. For amateur like me looking for an hybrid camera, a6700 is the way to go. For professional that needs full size HDMI, 2sd card slots and not worrying about overheating, FX30 all the day.
