    I'm really glad that you said it's murder on your fingers,. I have spent the last year spending too much time on learning to do recording and mixing and all that shit, so I thought sold it back into a bit of lead get my talent level up again. One of my Trudy favourite all-time solos is this one, along with one that was on the TV programme Rockford files, I don't know if you were familiar with the intro music but the guitar solo is very similar feeling. As a kid I secretly said to myself I am going to bloody well play that one day, the same with baker Street. Andy I'm really sorry to bother you but one quick question if you were humour me, do you need particularly light strings to do major Bends. Because in the past I have seen lessons where you bend it up two full tones and I physically can't do it, I mean the guitar doesn't seem to want to do it even after eating two Weetabix. Is it just my technique or is it the strings, I promise I'll leave you alone after this I'm just follow you. Honest gov

  • @AndyDoveGuitar
    @AndyDoveGuitar3 күн бұрын

    @@badenhill1487 heya, honestly it's no trouble at all, ask as many questions as you have, I'm always happy to chat gear. Personally for me on my Les Paul's I've always used 10-52 gauge by D'addario, I like the thicker gauge, but that's years and years of me bending strings like a monster, I'm very comfortable doing a 2 step or further bend as my fingers are used to it. That being said it's a long way to bend a string if you are not used to it. I would recommend a lighter gauge to begin with (9-42) to build up your stamina to it. You need to make sure the action isn't too low also, otherwise the guitar will fret out as you get to the top of that second tone bend. It helps to have a fretboard radius that is flatter so as you bend that high the curvature of the neck doesn't fight you. Hopefully that makes sense and helps, but yes ask as much as you need and I will try my best to help! 🎸

    Slash has always been a guitarist whose playing I've looked up to and one of the reasons I started playing guitar. One of my most prized guitars is my Slash outfit with the signed CoA and Seymour Duncan Slash pup's. It may only be an Epi, but by god it's probably the nicest LP I've ever owned or played, and I've played my dad's original LP black beauty before he sold it. Anyway, another absolutely solid performance, and a solo I can probably achieve. Thanks again.
