I think you're missing a trick here. Bounce Spell says to apply its effect as if you had activated it, and is a quick-play. That means you can chain it to any opponent's spell, take control of it, and steal the effect. Or, depending on a judge's ruling, you both get the effect.

For the actual ninjas: if you summon Kabuki, you can Special Summon Ikusa the trigger it's effect to summon Katana. That's 3 lv. 3 monster right there to go into various Link or XYZ monsters. And if you actually get N.M Shogun out...you can go right into my previous special summon line up while having 1 extra Katana and go from there with extra deck summons.

Um no bounce spell is busted the way it's worded means you can chain to a spell card as it is face up on the field and take it's effects, though your opponent will still have the effect. *Edit* I just realized that field spells work too and forgot to mention that it says apply the effects so you don't have to pay the cost either

In the _Pyramid of Light_ movie, Anubis used Fallout the moment he transformed into his dark beast form at the end of the duel. I believe he then proclaimed that not a single card in Yugi or Kaiba's deck could defeat him and he "activated" two cards at that moment; "Inferno Tempest" and "Fallout". Inferno Tempest basically destroyed Yugi and Kaiba's deck and Fallout made Anubis physically stronger than every monster in the game at the time (Joey sent out Gilford the Lightning and Gearfried, both of which were destroyed). Without Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, neither Yugi nor Kaiba could've beaten Anubis while under the effects of Fallout.

Waking the Dragons is going to be fun. So many hyper specific and situational anime-only cards that probably would never see play unless you’re an anime lover who plays rogue character decks at locals like me. I guess that’s what happens when Shin Yoshida writes for YGO. But in all seriousness, there are lots of great anime cards from the arc, good and even bad that I’d like to see printed because I’m that kind of YGO fan. People are still demanding Valon’s Armor deck. Wait till you get to Zexal cause my god, as much as I like Zexal (especially the Barian onslaught arc), there are so many hyper specific cards that are so situational, I can’t help but want to see how Konami would bring them to the real game.

Wouldn't fallout actually be a great way to push for game? It prevents you from attacking for the Next 5 turns, not the turn it's activated.

The first 3 cards actually would have been and still pretty good in Edison format. The 3 Yugi/Kaiba cards would be really good too, though Reverse of Reverse would only be a sideboard worthy card. The rest of these I don't even remember.

Turn Jump should scare you.... it was used by Yugi for Silent Swordsman and Ground Erosion with Yami gaining counters on Summoning Clock when used against him. So the things that happen during the standby and End phases do happen 3 times over from Turn Jump.

I know it’s not a archetype by any definition but clown control is my favorite. Crass Clown, Dream Clown and Ryu-Kishin clown are the primary playmakers but I use to throw in Peten the Dark Clown and even bickuribox to make the deck feel more thematical. There is an unusual amount of clowns in general in yugioh

I like this statement. I love generic cards, it helps to separate yugioh from other games. They also make the games more skillful as we all know what's likely to exist in every deck's arsenal.

So firstly, Snake Eyes has very little in the way of actual in archetype disruption, its why they use the generic stuff. Secondly, we don't hate the fact that Generic Bosses exist, it's that they are better (9/10) than ones that have far more restrictions slapped on them. A Generic Boss should not be better than one that requires specific materials, part of its strength is that it's easy to make. Accesscode and Verte *should* have been locked behind their archetypes, even a little, simply because as they are, they do more for everyone else than they do for their own deck. Which is bad design. And if those decks are the only ones that get to play them? Fine. It's that Archetype's card, they *should* be playing them. Honestly, Yugioh has a great example of what happens when everything is generic. Pendulums. When is the last time the best Pend deck wasn't Pend Pile? I love Majespecters and i think its a decent deck, but Pend Pile is beating my ass 6 ways from Sunday. All the Pends work together (outside of very few) and so it turns into this horrid mishmash of the best things that has no actual identity or purpose beyond turning out 12 Omnis. Its awful and destroys Pend as a unique piece of game design.

you suck at pattern recognition espiecally with the 2nd point ,cards designed to work with each other are played together and just because a card has an archetypal name doesn't mean it was made for the archetype rather it is more likely to let the archetype have access to it after a hard lock

Let me get this correct. The claim is "Printing broken generic extra deck monster which every deck will play is going to increase deck diversity" Yeah, that is 100% wrong. Printing ultra powerful must play staple cards tend to decrease deck diversity because everyone plays that card. Adding a generic staple to a format has never once made a rogue deck more competitive because whatever staple you are adding is better used by the meta.

After watching the entire video, I still heavily disagree with you Pineapple. Snake Eyes wouldn’t be so dominant if they didn’t have access to these broken generics. If a card is going to be completely generic it needs to have a cap to how useful it is, a generic card shouldn’t be an Omni negate. While yes the original archetypes wouldn’t be better if the cards were locked to those decks, it would allow for a much more balanced game state.

The correct answer on this particular topic is somewhere in the middle. Of course there must be strong generic boss monsters like Zeus or Baronne so that low tier decks can defend themselves. but extremely strong boss monsters should be restricted to their archetype, especially if it is the boss of a low tier deck which is abused by all the other decks which causes them to have to ban their boss which causes the lack of viability die along their boss monster some examples would be my boys Number S0 Hope Zexal, Number 86 Heroic Champion Rhongomyniad and True King VFD the Beast these should be restricted to their home decks to give an example How to do it is that S0 and 86 have the restriction that they can only be summoned if the only type of extra deck monster that you have in the duel are xyz plus more specific materials such as 3 light xyz number monsters with different ranks in the case of S0 and in the case of 86 4 or more Heroic monsters with different names

Personally, i would like less of a lock on those monsters. Like instead of all the material having to be the one archetype, maybe just a small amount like how Ragnaraika does it for some of their cards, like Borreload savage wanting its non-tuner to be a Rokket or dark dragon. Or Accesscode wanting at least 1 Cyberse monster used for its summon. Stuff where you can get creative with how you summon it but its still in theme with the original deck/archetype

If the generic staple is so good that the deck ends up using it as its final result/boss monster (Accesscode, True King, etc) then it is too powerful. If the card is going to be generic, it should assist the archetype you're putting it in. The archetype shouldnt revolve around it.

I think clear wing synchro dragon is a great example of what a generic boss monster should look like. Decent stats, but It can be played around, and literally play under the nose of the monster. It has two negates, one being far more defensive, and is only able to negate monsters. Generic should be powerful, but not AS powerful as more dedicated boss monsters. Cards like Barrone should have had lower stats IMO. Something that makes generic bosses… not “less worth playing” but just incentivize players to go with more in archetype strategies IMO. Maybe if savage had way lower stats, but the equipped link monster was what got it to around or about 3k. Also, if verte did have that “two predaplant monsters” it would mean that the… basically the predaplant version of the terrortop engine but costs your normal summon would see more play. Just like DPE or Alistair the invoker. I think cards being powerful enough, ala DPE should require some amount of engine to be splashed in. You’d see a lot more small engines trying to make use of these powerful monsters than just leaving them by the wayside. But I’ll stop rambling here. TLDR, generic should be good, but you should be incentivized to run more in archetype monsters. But at the end of the day, Konami wants to sell product, not make a better game.

Yu-Gi-Oh! wanted to remove the rock-paper-scissor match-up with these generic cards. But it monotonize the deck building and match-up of decks that played them. We should all agree that some decks are rocks and it beats scissor decks, and some scissor decks beat paper decks and the cycle continuous. like how exosisters, tearlaments, and kashtira are matched. If Konami wanted to have every archetype of decks have the capacity to negate, break-boards, perform otk, and turbo their boss monsters. They should do what they did to D/D, Dark Magician, and other archetypes. so that players can build the same deck with different playstyle. They can make a control based d/d or otk based d/d or negating board d/d. But the identity should be there. Kashtira with their face-down banish, exosister with gy lockdown, dinos with their effect destruction recursion or tearlaments mill engine.

Honestly I would’ve like it to have Fluctuating Atk Stat on a Generic Dragon! You can Literally use Any tuner for it SO LONG as You have a Dragon for material! Not a Dark Dragon, Not a Lvl 7 or 8 Dragon! Just a Damn Dragon to summon it! Pisses Me Off with How Often you See That Stupid Creature since You Can Just Run any BYSTIAL Monster Into Whatever Deck you Own to Screw over your Opponent!

Yeah this feels unsubstantiated. Generic boss & broken generic non-entine have not prevented tier 0 formats historically. For example when halq was legal it didn't prevent adamancipator format, nor did it prevent the dragon link/ synchro eldlich format. Hypothetically any deck could have used the card to end on savage+herald, but only the decks that could most consistently establish that plus more under interruptions became meta. Speaking of which most archetypes do not have 20+ non engine slots like s.e. or zoodiac. If there are alot of busted staples then the decks with the most capacity to play them benefit the most. In both circumstances the decks with the more concise, resilient, consistent engine end up on top. The only way to fix tier 0 formats is with archetype design. The reason why people want these generic cards banned is because they either promote toxic game states (union carrier, true king of all calamity, shifter) or remove diversity in gameplay (barrone, savage). If cards like barron and savage are legal then cards like raigeki/evenly and most other board brokers become unplayable forcing people to play hand traps instead. Cards like Beatrice, calamity, union carrier, and scythe are just not fun to play against or interact with. These cards are generally seen as unacceptable for a competitive game and they just force a gamestate where only one player can play similar to floodgates. Cards like Appo, knightmare mermaid, verte are criticized, because they remove diversity of the formats they are played in. It promotes formats where the best way to play rouge decks are to perform generic combos which removes the inherent playstyle unique to that archetype. Regardless many of these boss mobsters have their own issues beyond just being generic.

The game has way more problems than this. People are playing entire decks in one turn. Flood Gates, Generic Bosses, Hand Traps & Omni Negates are just symptoms of the real problem: Power creep got so crazy, that it destroyed the game.

Yu-Gi-Oh! wanted to remove the rock-paper-scissor match-up with these generic cards. But it monotonize the deck building and match-up of decks that played them. We should all agree that some decks are rocks and it beats scissor decks, and some scissor decks beat paper decks and the cycle continuous. like how exosisters, tearlaments, and kashtira are matched. If Konami wanted to have every archetype of decks have the capacity to negate, break-boards, perform otk, and turbo their boss monsters. They should do what they did to D/D, Dark Magician, and other archetypes. so that players can build the same deck with different playstyle. They can make a control based d/d or otk based d/d or negating board d/d. But the identity should be there. Kashtira with their face-down banish, exosister with gy lockdown, dinos with their effect destruction recursion or tearlaments mill engine.
Man, found the channel, love it so far, but this is not it. If I lose the dice roll/coin flip and lose to a 7+ interaction board with 3 negates and 2 hand traps, I’m hit a big frown.
I’m surprised that Dis Pater didn’t show up in this video considering how Many Times I’m forced to See that Annoying F**king card! It’s a Negate with a 3500 Body! Honestly I would’ve like it to have Fluctuating Atk Stat on a Generic Dragon! You can Literally use Any tuner for it SO LONG as You have a Dragon for material! Not a Dark Dragon, Not a Lvl 7 or 8 Dragon! Just a Damn Dragon to summon it! Pisses Me Off with How Often you See That Stupid Creature since You Can Just Run any BYSTIAL Monster Into Whatever Deck you Own to Screw over your Opponent!
Yeah this feels unsubstantiated. Generic boss & broken generic non-entine have not prevented tier 0 formats historically. For example when halq was legal it didn't prevent adamancipator format, nor did it prevent the dragon link/ synchro eldlich format. Hypothetically any deck could have used the card to end on savage+herald, but only the decks that could most consistently establish that plus more under interruptions became meta. Speaking of which most archetypes do not have 20+ non engine slots like s.e. or zoodiac. If there are alot of busted staples then the decks with the most capacity to play them benefit the most. In both circumstances the decks with the more concise, resilient, consistent engine end up on top. The only way to fix tier 0 formats is with archetype design. The reason why people want these generic cards banned is because they either promote toxic game states (union carrier, true king of all calamity, shifter) or remove diversity in gameplay (barrone, savage). If cards like barron and savage are legal then cards like raigeki/evenly and most other board brokers become unplayable forcing people to play hand traps instead. Cards like Beatrice, calamity, union carrier, and scythe are just not fun to play against or interact with. These cards are generally seen as unacceptable for a competitive game and they just force a gamestate where only one player can play similar to floodgates. Cards like Appo, knightmare mermaid, verte are criticized, because they remove diversity of the formats they are played in. It promotes formats where the best way to play rouge decks are to perform generic combos which removes the inherent playstyle unique to that archetype. Regardless many of these boss mobsters have their own issues beyond just being generic.

The game has way more problems than this. People are playing entire decks in one turn. Flood Gates, Generic Bosses, Hand Traps & Omni Negates are just symptoms of the real problem: Power creep got so crazy, that it destroyed the game.
