Moving to a new country every month in pursuit of something more meaningful while bringing you honest travel tips.
I'll be sharing my personal experiences with money + travel (the good, the bad, and the ugly), and hopefully we'll learn a few things along the way.
I don't know where this journey will take us, but I'm glad you're here.

Good stuff. Thanks! Not sure if you went further to Sanremo? Worth going on a day trip?
Thank you for the tips! Going to Edinburgh end of the month !
Have a great trip!
why visit i live there its cool
Great video thank you for the upload. Would you be available to to correspond email to email if we have further questions?
I spent my year between Berlin and Frankfurt and London and Dublin. Don't know where you get this idea that you can't get good food in London, there's literally thousands of all nationality of restaurant in London. If your idea of great food is a bagel shop then you're probably lost from the start.
I ate out at least twice a day and really felt like the quality was lacking compared to most other cities. Seemed like all the quality stuff was super expensive but I could have been looking in the wrong places. Any spots you'd recommend for my next visit?
@@camdendavid That's probably where you're going wrong, you shouldn't be eating out twice a day. You'd be better off most of the time going to a quality supermarket and picking out what you like and making your food from there. I don't know what you like so I don't know what to actually suggest, but I would suggest that if you're going out anywhere pick a nationality. And go from there. You can have Indian Chinese, Thai, Mongolian Vietnamese, the list is endless. That way you can pick a quality place three or four times a week instead of twice a day in cheap places.
I like the efficiency of these videos
Glad to hear it. I'll keep making them :)
Returning here after my trip to thank you for your tips because a few came in really handy. I always agree with making reservations if you can, as touristy spots always get booked up quickly, always having some spare cash was handy as the ticket machine was broken in Sintra and so we went to the ticket office where they didn’t accept card, the cobble streets can be very slippy and trainers/hiking boots were my best footwear. Tram 28 was busy but fine for us as we had the Lisboa cards and used it for free, otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered, it’s just a rickety version of their other trams. In Sintra, we bought tickets for Pena Palace (just the castle grounds) and Moors Castle at the Moors Castle ticket office, and got discount with the Lisboa Card. At the time we went (early morning in May) the queues were practically non-existent, not like how it is usually described. Quinta da Regaleira is lovely, but the first two were my favourite. We paid for that one at the ticket office too. We used Google Maps and hiked all over, didn’t bother with any public transport. We spared about 7-8 hours to walk to and see all three of the main spots and it was just the right amount of time before my feet had enough. Definitely do Sintra and Cascais on different days, Boca do Inferno was a great tip in Cascais and so was sitting on the left side of the train. There’s a huge hypermarket in Cascais called Auchan for anyone wanting to get bits for a picnic at the beach. It’s close to the station. I used this and lots of other pages to build my itinerary and think I pretty much nailed it in 4 days, so I’m posting that on my Insta ☺️
Thanks for sharing all this! Sounds like had a great time :)
This was so helpful!! Thankyou so much
Glad it was helpful :)
amazing! the budgeting side of it really inspired me to take the leap while also being responsible with my finances
You got this!!!
A tip for all would-be travellers. If you are really struggling to find good food in London (?) then you can always rely on Pret a Manger for good sandwiches and other lunch type foods and Leon for more substantial meal types. Both have branches all over the city. They offer good value and some healthier options also. If you get really stuck you could do a lot worse than taking advantage of the various "meal deals" that supermarkets such as Tesco and Sainsbury's offer.
Thanks for this!
Seriously amazing video, packed with information, well organized and much appreciated!!! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
We visited in the fall and I echo some of your recommendations accept Menton. Next to EZE it was a highlight. We day hiked up the hill into Italy, walked right across the border, had brunch including Lemonchellos and walked down an amazing path/steps down to the sea with the most amazing views and then walked back to Menton along the sea. Amazing, took about 3 hours an absolutely stunning walk.
Sounds like a great time! Thanks for sharing :)

I LOVE GENT!!!!!!!

I really love the information here. I will say it’s hard to watch David’s constant head shaking as he speaks.
Yeah, sorry about that haha. I definitely need to work on containing my bobblehead motion :)
Great video ! But your end screen shows a video from Airbnb Cape Town. 🤕
Thanks for letting me know! I just updated that :)
Your voice is like that in a movie so soothing
Hahah I appreciate that
I live in Belgium and I love it lol
Love to hear it!
Sound like a great part of what you didn't like was because of going in the hot summer. We loved the place in April and found the beautiful detail on all the buildings to be outstanding. We used Welcome Pickups to get from airport to hotel and they were waiting for us right outside customs. I love your images of this fantastic place. Made me very nostalgic.
I think that's a fair assessment! I'm looking forward to visiting when it's a bit cooler out haha. Thanks again for the support :)
Where can I find the train tickets? I'm going to edinburg from London but I'm kind of lost about it
This is the site I used and I believe it's an official platform (not a 3rd party vendor): www.lner.co.uk/
Great attitude. You have a wonderful talent for travel and public speaking.
I appreciate the kind words
I was in The Haque for a month(March 2024), I did not see a single tsotsi, car guard, 1 or 2 street crawlers in Rotterdam, perfect on-time public transport, no sesfikiles, no dirt or trash on the streets, only people engrossed in cellphones and you know what, I was so proud to tell I'm from Mossel bay, the cleanest city/town in the world, where the air is clean, clean drinking water, services on-time every time. Come visit Mosselbay, the Garden Route and the Karoo.
Yea its normally not unsafe but definetely watch out for pick pockets, never leave your bag unnatended for any time and if some one asks you if you have a belt while pulling on you pants he's trying to get in to your pockets. City of theifs it is but not robberys thank god. I still love Barcelona im going there in july woopwoop!
Hope you have a great time!
Great video! Very informative! Just wanna ask on how or where to take the bus to Eze Village?
Glad it was helpful! We caught the bus over near the port and I believe it was bus #82. We bought our tickets on the bus and it was a simple process. Just head to any stop where bus #82 stops and make sure to have some cash to purchase your tickets when you hop on (they'll give you a bus card as a ticket). Hope that helps :)
Cannes Croisete promenade is just as interesting as the Nice promenade besides although shorter than Nice , Cannes has a long sandy beach. We love it.
So glad to hear you enjoy it :)
Going there in june.... hows the boat people status there ??!
Lots of boats and there definitely seems to be a culture around it. I'm not quite at the boat money level so I have less insight there. Sorry about that. Hope you have a great trip!
@@camdendavid no I meant the boat people as in the name given to the illegal Africans and Middle Easterners who have invaded Europe
Hi! Planning a trip to Croatia with my wife, and appreciate this clear and informative video! Would like your 0.02 cents on where to stay as a "homebase" for day trips to the places that you mentioned. Appreciate any recs you have.
Hmm, that's a great question. I'm not a huge fan of Split but it's probably the best in terms of location. Compared to other spots, it'll give you easier access to most of the places I mentioned. Split also has an airport, so it gives you some flexibility when choosing how to get around. How long do you plan to stay and what type of transportation do you prefer to use?
Hiii helllppp I booked for July I just want to know how was the weather in there? Please
I haven't actually visited in July but I hear that the warmest month. Hope you have a great time!
I lived in Portugal for almost one year. And Lisbon and Porto were the worst for me. But Still love Portugal and you can find many good places to live. And I agree with you about the gold visa. This is going wrong.
Thanks for sharing. Which areas of Portugal did you enjoy most?
Save your money tap water is 100% safe so bring a water bottle and full up free... Im a capetonian water is safe drinking tap water all my life
Just spent another two months in Cape Town and I drank the tap water (filtered). No problems this time! Looks like I probably got that wrong the first time around :)
Thanks for this video.. Will travel to Nice, Cannes and Monaco in 2 weeks.
Hope you have a great time :)
Leonardo train is a scam where you can be fined 50 euros for a tiny mistakes
Definitely important to validate that ticket. But I love how convenient the train is -- I found it to be a much easier compared to airport transportation in other European cities :)
@@camdendavid search TripAdvisor reviews for “child ticket scam Leonardo “. The ticket machines sell you child ticket for under 14 but that’s confusing information that will lead you to getting fined.People are also fined for not sitting in their seats or taking a next train. For a family, you better off taking a taxi.
Great video thank you. Totally agree about Vatican Museum… absolute shambles!
You need to go to marloth park or stay next to crocodile river in malelane, other best part of south africa and completely different experience, but magical beyond words
I'll add it to my list - thanks!
Interesting to hear an “outsiders” viewpoint. The pronunciations are atrocious, but the info is actually quite accurate.
I appreciate that! And yeah, the pronunciations are something haha. Sorry about that :)
Hey Dave, what site did you go to find your survey taking gig?
It's a site called UserTesting. Haven't done it in a while but it served us well haha. Just don't expect to be making any big money from it
@@camdendavid Ill check it out. Thank you.
Antibes is my hometown and I spend a lot of my time off in Nice, and I agree with most of your comments. I am not a big fan of Cannes (although the old part, "le Suquet" is very nice) or Monaco either. I would also recommend the "sentier des contrebandiers" which is the coastal path around Cap d'Antibes. You need good walking shoes and a few hours but the view is wonderful. I confirm, and love, that we can walk or take a train, a tram or a bus to almost anywhere in the area. And I did not count but don't worry about your pronunciation, this is quite cute actually. 😊
I appreciate you taking the time to share this. I'll have to spend some time visiting the sentier des contrebandiers during my next trip. Thanks for the recommendation and taking it easy on my pronunciations :)
Thank you for this informative video. Personally, I like to stay in El Born and L’Eixample. In Barcelona, I found one of the best vegetarian restaurants I’ve ever tried: Green Spot in El Born. Thank you!
I'll have to check it out! Thanks :)
Brilliant. Shame about the booze culture. Easier to avoid if your are older I think. It's a city that is hard to do on a budget. It always has been unfortunately Thanks again ~~!
Very true! Thanks for watching :)
Subscribed~~ Brilliant recommendations. I am going there in Aug 2024 and thought five days might be too much. I think not! This is exactly the sort of advice I need. (Very admirable of you to not film the graveyard.) Thank you ~!!
Welcome to the community :) Hope you have a great time in August!
Just don't go to the dr.Maja Dukadinoska! She is evil and will ruin your life.
Sorry for whatever happened there!
Please visit again...y welcome❤
Nice! What does the baseball cap say?
Nice catch! It says, "Hi. Be Kind To Animals. Thanks." Found the hat a couple months ago in France :)
South Africa is 90% black and 10% white. When you find yourself in rooms that are 90% white and the 10% black are workers, rethink your social circle. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
It is a true privilege to be a South African even though there is alot of problems that we need to work on, our country is truly beautiful. Here, you can still find places that are pristine and untouched by civilization. If there is one thing about Americans that I never get is food fights on TV. The whole world is watching how people just randomly throw food away and think it is funny. What the...? I really do not see the entertainment value in that. If there is a campaign worth fighting for it will be that. Another massage that you can convey to first world countries is please do not send us free stuff or give us handouts. Rather aid in job creation. Handouts serves no purpose and always ends up in the wrong hands, further escalating corruption.
Beautiful Place
Great tips
Much appreciated
Hey man try "A Cave Do Bon Vivant", it's a French wine bar/restaurant, one of my friend work there it's really great. If u see a guy named Victor tell him that Vincent recommend it to you, it will be a fun moment I think.
Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out the next time I'm in town
We can agree my charcuterie board is a solid 7/10 right?
It has no actual “charcuterie”. 5/10
