Nice
if you memorize what SAE (American) and metric sockets interchange you can carry both very compactly....carry...(5/16=8mm), (3/8), (10mm), (11mm=7/16), (12mm), (1/2=13mm), (14mm=9/16), (15mm), (5/8=16mm), (17mm), (11/16), (18mm), (19mm=3/4)...carying those 13 sockets is equal to 19 sockets and covers everything from 5/16 - 3/4 and 8mm - 19mm....the socket before the "=" is the tighter fitting of the two so use that...example 5/8 is .005 tighter than 16mm so will fit 16mm nuts/bolts better than an actual 16mm wrench or socket....1/2 inch sockets fit better on 13mm than actual 13mm tools...if you need larger than 3/4 or 19mm then carry....(20mm), (13/16=21mm), (22mm=7/8), (23mm), (15/16=24mm) as the sizes increase you get a nearly 1 to 1 interchange to SAE..ie for the larger sizes there will nearly always be an interchange from metric to an SAE size as a mm is smaller than 1/16 of an inch.
Beautiful car, fantastic looking classic.
Your my hero
Steve is an absolute legend hard to believe he is now retired what a great guy I’d love to pick his brain especially on tuning carburetors!!!
what does that transfer case weigh?
Why wouldn't you used the transmission drain plug?
Did I miss something? Was there a reason he simply didn’t remove the drain plug on the trans instead of creating a mess? LOL
Why cant I find any shop with this level of craftsmanship willing to work on my 1964 impala smh in WA state.
This was awesome, thank you guys
Hello I have a 1964 Impala SS 327 in almost the same condition. Also in comparison I need most of same systems installed. Disk brakes, upgraded cylinder and booster, updated power steering system, and Total electrical wiring harness replacement. I have all these parts ready. What ia the estimated price for these installs? Thanks
Bruhle is the man. Initial setup screen said displacement was 377 . That was changed right ?
What is a starter washer? A lock washer?
How about clearance issues? Nobody ever talks about clearance issues…
Why not install new thermostat? Just wondering and Excellent video Thanks
Very helpful! Thank you so much
The tranny fluid is keeping it hot. Install a external cooler.
This video will help me as well to rebuild my own 350 engine with my rebuild kit thanks keep the videos coming also wanna know how to wire I have a 1977 c10 so if you got videos on that as well definitely will check it out 👍🏽
Jack stand hidden under there at 2:35 or what? Jeepers!!
Thanks guys,,really enjoyed this 4 part series, 🛠👍🤘!
Two Questions: How do you know the exact torke for the bolts?😮 Does the water pump gasket need sealant?😊 Great day!!!🎉
Good job buddy, but what about a Mexican speed wrench & duct tape lol
Perfect 👌
Did you install the tranny with the bellhousing?
With a bigger cam, does your to hit the head?
I like C10’s
You forgot to mention??? The torque bolts are 8mm hex head bolts. You edited that little fun fact out. Hercules Blaah.
No glitz, or distracting music just the job at hand. Helpful bolt sizes and access tool trick, clear good practice reassembly. Torque values, correct nomenclature and check recheck procedure. Nicely done Gentlemen! Noticed the color on the fan clutch - Orange vs Green heavy duty?
Thanks for the tutorial bro.
I love your work . I wish I was back in Cali..but m in Florida now. i change oil pan gasket on an escalade 6.0 and all the sensors . still leaking, from the starter side,, I think is the rear main seal.. is a little hard on the floor job.
What was the brand of the old headers? Was that a 283 or 327? It would have been easier taking out the motor/trans if you had removed the radiator support.
I know it’s been years but a complete list of tools used would be. Immensely helpful.
Damn near had a heart attack when you broke ur installer tool for the harmonic balancer...i woulda had to sit down jus to calm down over that lol
Cool video! Brings back memories of when I used to go to Pick-A-Part in Sun Valley, CA almost every weekend way back in the 80's. I picked up one of those 4L80E's a few years back from a '99 Suburban for $850 so you got a great deal on those.
Mine is numbers matching 396 rebuilt bored 30 over.. I wouldn't swap it for an LS even if free.. too many out there with swapped out engines.
Great video 🙌🏾
Day 3… I’m 10 minutes in…
