if you memorize what SAE (American) and metric sockets interchange you can carry both very compactly....carry...(5/16=8mm), (3/8), (10mm), (11mm=7/16), (12mm), (1/2=13mm), (14mm=9/16), (15mm), (5/8=16mm), (17mm), (11/16), (18mm), (19mm=3/4)...carying those 13 sockets is equal to 19 sockets and covers everything from 5/16 - 3/4 and 8mm - 19mm....the socket before the "=" is the tighter fitting of the two so use that...example 5/8 is .005 tighter than 16mm so will fit 16mm nuts/bolts better than an actual 16mm wrench or socket....1/2 inch sockets fit better on 13mm than actual 13mm tools...if you need larger than 3/4 or 19mm then carry....(20mm), (13/16=21mm), (22mm=7/8), (23mm), (15/16=24mm) as the sizes increase you get a nearly 1 to 1 interchange to SAE..ie for the larger sizes there will nearly always be an interchange from metric to an SAE size as a mm is smaller than 1/16 of an inch.

Did I miss something? Was there a reason he simply didn’t remove the drain plug on the trans instead of creating a mess? LOL

Hello I have a 1964 Impala SS 327 in almost the same condition. Also in comparison I need most of same systems installed. Disk brakes, upgraded cylinder and booster, updated power steering system, and Total electrical wiring harness replacement. I have all these parts ready. What ia the estimated price for these installs? Thanks

No glitz, or distracting music just the job at hand. Helpful bolt sizes and access tool trick, clear good practice reassembly. Torque values, correct nomenclature and check recheck procedure. Nicely done Gentlemen! Noticed the color on the fan clutch - Orange vs Green heavy duty?

I love your work . I wish I was back in Cali..but m in Florida now. i change oil pan gasket on an escalade 6.0 and all the sensors . still leaking, from the starter side,, I think is the rear main seal.. is a little hard on the floor job.

What was the brand of the old headers? Was that a 283 or 327? It would have been easier taking out the motor/trans if you had removed the radiator support.

Cool video! Brings back memories of when I used to go to Pick-A-Part in Sun Valley, CA almost every weekend way back in the 80's. I picked up one of those 4L80E's a few years back from a '99 Suburban for $850 so you got a great deal on those.
