I'll randomly remember how much I love Steve Vai, And I'll put this song on and I'll go about my business, then at 2:52 every time.. I hits me..

I shared this with a young friend that's trying to play. He said... ooh.. he's a studio player. I said... looks like he's a guitar player to me.

Steve's fingers don't play what he hears in his head on this song. His head is trying to catch up to what his fingers are doing...and that's what we're hearing

if you play guitar for a long time.. you know how much he was struggling with poor acoustics and strings weren't perfectly tuned and his fingers weren't warmed up yet.. which made him a bit more nervous and anxious.. there was a lot of sloppyness and yet he pushed through and did it like a champ.. thats why he's Steve Vai!~ he turned krap into gold by the end of it. most guitar players would have choked and gave up when it got a lil bit uncomfortable.. but not Jack Butler~

The question remains ... why did the bassist change his bass?
um Steve... its mainly cuz of you that any of us learned how to push that limit into the stratosphere. Im sure they were like "try to act cool. try not to act like that is fucking jedi steve via right here in the studio with us. " Seriously though, it was awesomesauce personified when i found this video playing right after "playing god" i was as giddy as a school girl. ahhaha.
