I didn't edit my first video until I was 24. At the time I didn't realize the impact that digital media could have on an amateur filmmaker.
Two years later, a video I created for a class at Michigan State University was featured on the front page of USAToday.
We now live in a time when we have greater access to the tools needed to create media then ever before. While I am all too aware of the amateur status of some of my videos I leave them on my channel as a marker to show myself, and others, the progression of media aptitude that can take place when an individual takes advantage of our current state of digital production. I used to be so encapsulated by war and would romanticize it in my mind. I used to see it as an adventure that seemed very attractive for some reason. My interest has made me obsessed with learning everything I can about it. And one thing I can say is it is no longer something to want, but to learn from. The lessons of pain and suffering that I’ve learnt is insignificant to the reality. War is not a game but a crude awakening to our past. We are violent in nature and it’s a disgusting reality that will shatter the strongest of minds. I truly am grateful for the warriors who have endured. May the universe bring you all peace and love. You are truly the strongest amongst us

Although the language of war and conflict is universal, only those who were there can hear, speak - or comprehend its meaning....and if we ever meet we will recognise each other regardless of race or nationality and speak with silent tongues......Respect to the passed and living..

My dad and his friend did 2 tours in Iraq, my dad left the army at the end of his 2nd tour because my mom had me and his friend stayed in the army and then went to Afghanistan where he died in an IED explosion, my dad getting the phone call is the first time I've seen my dad cry, we were driving to my mom's and he calmly drove the last 3 hours of a 5 hour drive from his house near fort Stewart to my moms house in north Carolina and he silently shed a few tears so me after getting the call because his friend was like an uncle to me and my sister and we were still young we wouldn't be able to really understand the situation, after we got to North Carolina me and my sister went to my grandparents and my dad finally broke down to my mom
