Hey I'm Erick Rivers and I want to welcome you to The Rivers' Experience. This channel focuses on some of the things I like to create and some of the experiences that I enjoy. I really love sharing what I do and helping others out along the way, so as a result I have tutorial style videos that show builds over the course of several videos. I am constantly learning and enjoy all the feedback that I get on the projects that I get to share with you all. If you find yourself enjoying these videos, please subscribe. Want to see it all? you drill holes in guard with small drill bits than thickness of the knife right?
What happened to your power hammer?
I still use it, I just don't like using it during the Live Streams. Not everyone has a Power Hammer.
Thanks Eric

Gosh dang!!! I forgot how thick that chunk of steel was! Mad props brother! That’s a lot of work squishing that material out! Great job and great video! I like the idea of an in depth series! 👊
Thanks man! I had forgot too lol. I watched it and was like "Daaayyuuummm, that thing was thiccck!" 🤣
@@theriversexperience9383 lmao
Sounds like you might need to set up both cameras to avoid a huge headache
I plan on doing that moving forward. It was helpful the one tike I did it.
I’m new to knife making. And trying to price out my blades and faces all those fake knives. Now I understand it. Thank you for this great video!
W Hey - it looks beautiful- what material are the scales made of. Thanks
Fantastico lo adoro💪
I love the aethetic of that seax, embodyment of an angry viking about to steal your shit
Looks good 🚶🚪🦕
Have you thought about editing down the livestream content?
Yup, I have. I plan on doing some of that.
I would not change anything ! The color/texture of the blade is especially great !!
have to have fresh tools for a real good job wat you wanna nail !?
Looking great Erick! I know ow you hated selling the first one and this one will be even better!!!
Y'know that bat looks familiar. *TF2 Theme plays* Bonk
I'm looking forward to this build. The kukri is my favorite style of blade...although I have yet to forge one. I remember when you did the scales on the other knife, and I'm stoked to see it again.
Right on Eric love the knife, rick SoCal
Hey Rick! I think this one will be epic!
Im missing a build 😢
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hey Matt!
Sounds like a challenge of skills. That's good Saturday night is late for myself. Thanks
Sounds great, LETS GO ! I love this kind of presentation.
I think it's going to be a fun series.
Looking forward to it! Old school STT!
Yup! That's the plan!
Yeeeesss! I'm friggin stoked about this build man! I've always wondered how you filed in those dragon scales. I'm also excited about the antler part though cuz i got a bunch of em to use as handles but i didnt want to just grind them to shape and leave blank white spots so I'm curious what you're gonna do with it.
I think this will be a fun project and I have a plan for the texture of the antler.
@@theriversexperience9383 Heck yeah man. Can't wait to see it!
I'm excited to see how you put the scales on the blade.
Lmao!!! Just admit that you are already missing the World of Warcraft knife !!! I remember a month or two back in one of your videos talking about how you sold it and I remember hearing the sadness in your voice!!! 😂 it was a killer blade. This one will be too. I’m excited to watch your series! 👊
Oh, I absolutely miss that blade! Never thought I would even consider selling it.
Lot of people forget Kukri's traditionally also have a pair of smaller blades for utility work, so if you wanted to integrate a couple of other knives into it. Maybe something like a little skinner and perhaps an 'eating knife' could be worked into the build. They don't have to be very big- 3-4" long, maybe find some warthog tusk or buffalo for handles to set them in an archaic style
That's a great idea!
Dude, the channel, your work, and you are pretty damn inspiring. 🍻
just watching and learning, question is from what I've seen on other videos around youtube, would it have been easier to work with if you softened it before shaping and drilling? doesn't look like you had any trouble but just thought id ask from what I've seen others say to do. Thanks and it looks great
There's a bunch if stuff I would change from what I did then and what I do now. This was at the beginning of my knife making journey. I've made about 1000 knives since then.
That's probably the best file knife I've seen. Style and quality wise. I bought a couple file knives from museum replica and the handles fell off after a month on both of them. If I send them to you can you fix them 🤣
Awesome to see the coverage on the fixed blade side of the show. Great video!
Well done on the loss, it gets harder as you get older so the less now it'll be easier later Kitchen knife turned out well, are you going to give that Apex-Ultra I sent a go? It does need a fairly detailed thermocycle treatment so I tend to do mine in batches, the results are pretty impressive though.
Yup, I've got that project lined up. I'll be using a buddies heat treat oven for that one.
Dang it!!! I missed it!!! Love that you can re-watch the lives! Sounds like you are ready to get after it! Congrats on the milestone! Great achievement brother!
Great advice! 48:00 min mark
What's up erick
Hey Brother! I'm so glad I got to meet you at Blade! Wish we could have been able to visit longer, but we were both really busy, so next time for sure! 💯🙏🏻😎👍🏻☯️
Absolutely! It was great seeing you, Bob.
Awesome blade show ! Remember you can boil antler in water and straighten it out in a vice if need be. That’s going to be a Knice knife. Be safe brother.
I didn't even think about that, thanks for reminding me! I'll be doing that for sure.
I’m so excited that Peanut made the video! 😂🐶
Gotta have a little peanut! 😁
Shannon was very excited that Peanut made the video. Nice recap! Soo many great makers out there to film. It was great seeing you again!
It was awesome getting to hang out with yall again. I wish it wasn't only once a year though lol.
Best power hammer Build video one on youtube. Very well explained and demonstrated. Thank you!
The overlapping 2x12 idea was pure genius. Well done. My only change would be to glue the boards for quietness and put the top band a little lower so the handles clear easier when getting hammers out of the stand. Overall brilliant move though that I’ll be shamelessly copying
I wish we had something like this in western Canada.
I just ordered the Brodbeck painted mega package on Tuesday! Ben and Vince are top notch!!
They are pretty awesome!
Where’s the scrolling tongs?? I found a nice set on Etsy for $45…free shipping. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll send you the link.
I'll be getting some soon.
Iron Dungeon is who sold me my heat treat oven this year…George and his wife are great people! Glad you had a good trip!
Yup, they are awesome!
I was anxious to see the knives at the show, but was disappointed because everything was slightly blurred! 🤔😥
Looks like it was a blast! 😂 🤘🏻🤘🏻
It was!
Thanks for taking us with you Erick! I'd love to go some day.
It's definitely worth going to a blade show.
Thanks Erick for sharing some of your experiences at Blade and your drive. Gotta say...your Porsche is looking "fine!" Great find on that antler....we'll all look forward to see how you finish that cool blade.
Thanks for what you did Danny. I think it will be an awesome knife once its done. I'm going to show all the cool things that I'm doing to it in detail.
Great video! It was awesome to finally meet you. Thank you so much for stopping by the table and saying hi to Dmitri and I. We’re hoping to have some stuff done with the new resin soon! Keep crushing it!
It was nice to meet y'all, I'm excited to use those and see how they perform.
@@theriversexperience9383 as soon as they’re ready I’ll reach out to you. We’re getting them together as we speak!
